  1. Hi there I need to disconnect the battery on my IS200, can i just disconnect it or will the alarm sound when i take the first lead off! Also, what will happen when i reconnect? Am i correct that you should take of the negiative lead first, and then fit the negative last when re-connecting? Or is it the Positive :duh: Ohh this is getting dangerous Cheers for any help :)
  2. By the way its a IS200 How do you get to the back of the radio?
  3. Hi there, I have ‘discreetly’ installed a Nokia Bluetooth Car Kit, and everything is fitted all but its power. What I need help on is, I have 3 wires to connect: One needs to be earthed. Another needs to connected to a permanent live. And the other needs to be connected to a live once the ignition key is turned. I know the best place to get these connections is around the ignition key area, but how do you visibly get to it. What I mean is how do you remove the lower dash panel? I don’t think that I need to remove the steering wheel casing. Any help would be appreciated, and even if there is a better place to obtain these power areas. thanks :)
  4. Hi, Picked mine up last year and it came with Dunlops - I had to have a NEW tyre because a nail went into it and it was unrepairable, so i went to a MASSIVE tyre company in Essex and they replaced it with exactly the same make (dunlop) and type (9000's) BUT...... it was different This one was made in Germany whereas the originals are made in Japan, and the BIG BIG BIG difference between the two is that the replacement (german) ones do not have the big rim protector it fits flush with the alloy rim :o so youve gotta be real careful with it. Dunlops do say that the Japan made ones are available, but you have to get them ordered especialy by the tyre fitters. I guess maybe Bridgestones overcome this difference ? <_<
  5. hi, for those of us that do not have the Sat Nav unit in our IS's could somebody please tell me how you go about removing the little square fluffy shelf where the sat nav unit would be. I would like to know because i am nosey at whats underneath it !! ta ...
  6. As a newcomer to the Lexus scene, would someone tell me about the mirrors. I know that they can fold inwards by the button in the car, BUT if someone should side-swipe them do they 'spring' inwards/outwards as a saftey caution, OR do they just BREAK !!?? and at the same time break the fold-in motor/cogs. ;) Please let me know FANXS Paul

  9. I have seen for sale in Model shops (but cant get my hands on one :( ) a LEXUS IS200 They are made by a company called AUTO ART (china) and they refer to it as a TOYOTA ALTEZZA RS200, it is a 1/18th scale model. If anyone can help, i am after a 'Right Hand Drive' model and it MUST be in 'Silver', if you know of somewhere i can buy one NEW, i would be grateful. :D Thanks
  10. I have owned different coloured cars, BUT never a Platinum Ice before. Now....... whats going on with this colour? because it attracts SO MANY damn flies when i leave it locked. As soon as i stop and get out, the ******* are landing on it !! Has anyone else got this problem or is it just me
  11. FLUFF Ive got 3 years to get it fixed
  12. Hi, My new Sport has a boot lid that springs up completely, and the other day i borrowed a SE only to find the boot lift about 1 inch from the lock. I think that because the Sport comes as standard with a rear spoiler, they must fit a heavier duty spring or something.
  13. I bought my Sport brand new this May, and its 2nd gear 'clonked' as soon as i drove it off the forecourt. They said they would replace the whole gearbox, but i would rather put up with it than put up with there mechanics playing about with fixing it !!!
  14. Hi I bought a brand new SPORT in May this year, and the other day it had to go back to my local LEXUS for a very minor repair. They were kind enough to lend me a SE auto for the day, and i noticed a difference in the handling straight away. Now... i dont know if there is any difference between the two (apart from the 15mm drop) but the SE felt more 'floaty', and it had less miles on it than mine has. :smug:
  15. TIP If you are fortunate (as i was) to purchase a brand new car, take the car to a reputable 4 wheel laser alinement centre once the car has about 4000 miles off the tyres and a nice even tread pattern, they will issue you with a very detailed report, so... in the future if ever you have shocks replaced or whatever, and you start to get poor tread wear, you can get the car 'set-up' to your original report as when it was okay. Elite in Dagenham are brilliant at it :tumble: Just an idea i thought i would share ;)
  16. BLIMEY !! Ive done it !! is there a standard measurement ? Cheers folks (by the way, my Sport was BRAND NEW in May'02 & has the 2nd gear problem)
