  1. Hi Guys Firstly thanks to Sonnet for a great find. I received the audio adapter from Grom a couple of weeks ago and just got round to fitting (more like got away from the girlfriend). I removed the seat heater controls, vent and un-did the bolts. Pulled the stereo out, chose the obvious choice of 2 cables that came with the adapter plugged it in connected my iPod Touch and hey presto it works all in about 10 minutes. FANTASTIC.....Hand shakes and manly back slapping all round to Sonnet. I have a question about a electronic box type thing that is under the dash tray....What is it? The cable that is plugged in at the far left of the box runs down behind the stereo were it was just hanging with a cut off end....What did it do or should do? Cheers Alex

  3. I think we're all guilty at some stage for neglecting one thing or another, I like your honesty. Sounds to me you need to get rid and start again. On another note could we have some pics please....it may start a new 'how knackered is your IS gallery'.
  4. I've used them twice and never had a problem and found their prices to be very good. I think you get free puncture repair too! Alex
  5. I've used Chips Away a couple of times but only for a bumper and a door, and they did a pretty good job. Most companies of this type are franchises and the quality of work will be variable. The colour of the car is important, silver for example is a notoriously difficult colour to blend if only a small area of a panel is to be repaired. As for price, a rule of thumb would be about £100 per panel. I've had my bonnet resprayed so if opting for a spray shop I would expect to pay about £100 - £120 this would include blending because you've got to consider that a newly resprayed bonnet will probably stand out from the rest of the car and the sprayer will more than likely need to blend the paint on to both front wings which may take the cost up a little. My advice would be to get it sorted quickly because you don't want the rot penetrating through the skin of the bonnet. Alex
  6. yep, one of the best things you can do to your car :) Thanks for the reply but why would the ARB creak? I get the slight creaking sound turning the wheel when the car is stationary.....
  7. Hi guys It's been a while since I last posted anything and at last I've got round to lowering the car which I'm going to do myself but what I wanted to know was is there anything I should replace whilst the suspension is off? The car is on 120k and apart from an itermittent creaking noise when I turn the steering wheel (any thoughts?) all seems fine and dandy. Cheers Alex
  8. Picked up my black Sports Grill from Lexus Newcastle for £38. It took three weeks to arrive and they are still available. I almost ordered another just to sell on flea bay but couldn't be arsed.
  9. Glad you've got it back...it looks stunning
  10. Totally feel for you buddy. I had mine keyed 4 times, and it got to the point where I was or felt like I was going mad and paranoid. I had my suspicions of who it might be but the police weren't interested one bit. So after a year of this happening I finally caught them just by pure luck. Long story short I filmed him keying the car from front to back, I could have stopped him before he got the chance but I wanted the footage to finally put an end to it. The look on his face as I opened my front door, camera in hand just as he finished keying the drivers side was pure magic. In some ways I pity the people who do this and hope one day they will own something which they have worked long and hard for, and then to have it vandalised by a mindless thug.
  11. I think having any air in the coolant system isn't good. As far as I'm aware there isn't a bleed valve and it's not a job to take on without some experience. You could end up making it worse. My advice is the job is best left to a garage.
  12. Sounds like air in the heater matrix which could be caused be either a leak or if any work has been carried out on the coolant system it hasn't been refilled properly. If it's not a leak and there are no visible signs of one, most of the time bleeding and refilling the system will cure it.
  13. Wobble at around 55-60 would normally indicate a wheel balancing issue and if the disks were warped judder through the steering wheel when you brake. They may have put the balancing weights slightly out of place especially if they thought that they detracted from the appearance of your wheels...I only suggest this because it happened to me.
  14. Found previous posts on what plugs to use but I need to know what sized socket I need to remove the existing spark plugs? Cheers all Alex
  15. Hi Folks I'm looking at getting some eibach springs fitted to my sport but I'm at a loss of who to take it to. Can any of the guys who live in the North East point me in the direction of someone who knows what their doing and who won't end up trying to rip me off, botch it up or put an extra 100miles on the clock in the process. It's so hard to find quality craftsmen these days...when I was a lad.... Thanks in advance Cheers Alex P.s Am I right in thinking that the 30mm drop the springs give, will in reallity end up giving me a 15mm drop as the sport is already 15mm lower than the rest...
