  1. Sold my beautiful LS600h for 9.5k , Dax bought it at auction for 15K look at this price tag now and all in less than a week !! https://www.daxmotorcompany.co.uk/used-cars
  2. Hi .. having done the research on Hybrid batteries before buying my first Lexus I was comfortable with the purchase as the Hybrid Health checks had all been done and failures are rare indeed ( although I doubt Lexus would admit otherwise ) so don't be put off my LS600 is / was 10 years old and no problems If your in the market for an LS600h RSR with 86k miles in superb condition .. I sold mine today to WEBUYANYCAR I think this site is owned by British Car Auctions so pick up a brochure and get yourself along there for a bargain .. Registration is HD08YYU .. to say I am a broken man is an understatement I absolutely LOVED that car 😧
  3. I have for what it's worth mainly driven automatic's apart from those occasions where I have owned ridiculously powerful motors and a manual box makes more sense , so even driving auto's these days I still use the manual side of the box for going into corners or slowing down regardless of whether i'm driving the RX or LS , as a one time major track day enthusiast I just feel (rightly or wrongly) it gives me a bit more control but maybe i'm just old school
  4. Hi Jonathan .. would you believe a carbon copy of mine passed me on Princess Parkway a couple of weeks ago , how unlikely is that albeit I didn't get to see if it had the RSR fitted plus it looked like it needed a good wash and wax !! it's the only other one I have seen
  5. Hi .. Interesting to hear this as I had just downloaded ios12 to all my & my wife's iPads and iPhones , (without telling her) then she tells me not to download it as she had read about incompatibility , bit too late but we are both still getting news feeds etc, i'm sure Apple will be sorting it ASAP but personally not noticed any problems
  6. Could this possibly be a very early version of the "Car Parks itself " job , my 2008 LS600h has this facility but it's not very easy to use .. love your puchase by the way , congratulations , very unusual and stands out from the crowd !
  7. Can’t beleive it , spent ages on a reply to your comments then found I wasn’t signed in Doooh 😞 So here we go again ! I would like to stand on a soapbox and rant at all the manufacturers who in MHO compromise the safety of all our sons daughters and wives who drive the family car to save money by Not supplying a spare wheel , it infuriates me and for many brands not even a space saver is supplied Now having read your posts I have to agree that any spare regardless, compromises fuel economy and to a minor degree performance , this coming from a guy who spent a fortune on a highly tuned Skyline just for track days and yes the spare always came on track with me but did I notice a drop in performance of course not , fuel , well yes just a wee bit !! It was always in the back of my mind I had no spare and suddenly for the first time ever, there I was for several hours on the hard shoulder of a motorway awaiting recovery .. for those of you not worried by the lack of a spare or want better fuel consumption consider this, fortunately I was on my own but you suddenly find yourself in my position on said hard shoulder but with your family and young children and like me, sitting in the nettles and weeds , suddenly some muppett watching a film on his laptop driving his 40ft HGV plows into the back of your car , we have all watched Traffic Cops on TV , what would your reaction be or if any of your familty were injured , would you blame yourself or the manufacturer for not giving you that spare you could have changed in 10 minutes and been on your way , the guy that sold you the car wouldn’t feel bad any more than the CEO of the company Northumberland afforded me 1000’s of puncture free miles for years , however living in Cumbria for 10 years emptied my wallet to be replaced by receipts for split wall tyres at 230 quid a pop because of all the slate and stones that drop from the walls and hide under flowers and fern you just can’t see and eventually you are obliged to move over close to that wall to allow the tourist to pass who is hogging most of the road because he dosn’t want the overhanging branches to scratch his car So I say to those who tempt fate , dont stray too far from the beaten track because as tomRCFcarbon said, the shaving foam is as much use as a Cat Flap on a Submarine not to mention the useless Compressor whose seals have perished from lack of use because it just sits in the boot .. time to check it’s working guys !! NEVER again will I buy a car without some form of spare wheel which is one of the reasons I now drive a Lexus and as Womble72 reminded us we won’t even need recovery I am that confident neither of them will break down and of course I have peace of mind that they both carry a full size spare Hope I havn’t upset anyone with my comments but for me its all about safety .. no spare potentially increases your chances of getting stranded Sorry ive gone on , rant over !!
  8. Havn't read all the posts but .. I work abroad and regularly leave both my RX 450h and LS 600h for upto 6 weeks at a time get home and both always fire up straight away Having said that .. the LS has a new Battery whereas the RX Battery is now 7 years old .. I'm due back from Norway here at the end of this month after being away 5 weeks bet they both start .. so don't worry about it for at least 3 weeks and let it run for a while .. just make sure you turn everything off before locking it
  9. Going to stick my 5 penneth in .. having recently owned one of the last naturally aspirated CLS AMG 6.3's , I can genuinely say it is a superb machine with enormous power , capability and comfort plus being a 4 door 4 seater with enormous boot space and consumption driven normally around 26mpg However , in anything but the dry, this beastie would spend it's time sidestepping even on a straight road , so care had taken with the right foot but , it's biggest let down was the fact it didn't have a spare wheel .. so when I had a blowout on a motorway and the tyre in 2 halves the can of squirty stuff and compressor was about as much use as an Elastoplast , so I stopped using it and as immaculate as it was with 42k on the clock it went on its way , I wasn't prepared to sit on the side of the motorway for 5 hours and end up with the car on a flatbed truck again The upside is , mostly missing the performance I bought an LS600h , (thanks to you all on this Forum) which is just fantastic , superb performance , has 4 wheel drive is even more comfortable with lots more toys AND does have a full sized spare wheel !! I'm smiling as I type , it's an amazing combination of machinery and artwork (arguably)
  10. Jonathan .. Just looked up the pictures of your recently purchased LS600 , looks terrific and congratulations i'm sure the drives back and forth to Stockport for your daughters swimming will be positively serene Sadly Norway keeps dragging me back to work so have barely put any miles on her since you came to see it , but did take out a warranty with Lexus just for peace of mind , the 600 is without doubt one of the best cars I have ever owned and if your ever near me call in , I would love to see it first hand
  11. Wow .. reading between the lines and looking at the attachments this has got to be the worst maintained LS600 ive seen , for me I would take this car back and tell them it is not fit for purpose , is the condition of the car commensurate with it's mileage , just wondering if it hasn't been clocked too The LS600 is a fantastic car so hope you get things sorted , really sorry to hear of your experience but don't go spending any more of your hard earned cash on repairs before sorting with the dealer regardless of the discount you got Pleased to see your still on the LS600 forum Jonathan ..
  12. For what it's worth unfortunately the seat doesn't move back in my LS and I wish it did although the steering wheel does move up , In the RX I actually like the seat moving back and the wheel moving up and this function can easily be switched off , makes it so much easier sliding my beer belly out of the car 😥
  13. Thanks for your thoughts , dirty fuel , hmm certainly not a filter as all changed recently and no dash warnings at all , possible a jolly good blast would do the trick but i'll drop it into Lexus for a check , never happens on my RX450h which made me wonder , but there again the RX doesn't have the Power mode option let alone all the extra horses Never know we may pass each other on the A1 !!
  14. LS600h , not that often used but , this afternoon took her out & switched to Sport mode and Power , went for a spirited drive as the hacks would say , it put a huge smile across my mush , but at around 40mph , I noticed what I can only describe as engine hiccups , almost a misfire as I was on a flat straight road between a trailing throttle and accelerating gently Could this be the electronics switching between Hybrid and Engine mode & not sure which to engage ?? , never noticed it before as I always drive in the "Old man mode" , has any other LS owner experienced this I'll take it in and get Lexus to check it out but it had a clean bill of health only a month ago by them , bit odd don't think it was my right foot To think I almost bought a Bentley , I must have been mad , in my humble opinion the LS is a much more rewarding drive with lots more toys
  15. The Limit is no more than 10 years old or I believe 100,000 miles whichever comes first , I know as I have just taken out a warranty with Lexus on my LS600 and after research it is by far the best warranty you will get , price for a 2 year Lexus warranty was £2350 or £1450 for 1 year Cant help you with the Nav unit suffice to say I find it hard to believe you cant separate that piece of trim from the rest of the unit , just had a look at mine and its very similar but in my case it's Satinised aluminium , cant see why it would be corroded tho , that seems odd , I would suggest a specialist parts dealer and try phoning around other Lexus parts departments just to see what they say in terms of buying that individual section of trim Don't worry about the Hybrid side it's virtually bulletproof , with it's service history as with all Lexus Hybrids you should have received a Hybrid Health check certificate with the MOT
  16. Had an accident 3 years ago , clash of wing mirrors on my Q7 with a guy driving a van £600 damage and even tho' I had a witness saying it was deffo his fault plus my dashcam evidence , Admiral only managed to get me back £300 and eventually gave up chasing the remaining £300 of my claim , my quote with them the following year went North by £450 and has gone up significantly year on year even tho I changed Insurers you still have to declare the accident details , your fault or not they milk everyone 🙄
  17. Thanks Rayaans will do , anything is worth trying before a visit to Lexus .. !! thanks , 😯
  18. Thanks for the help really appreciate it but , the reset hasn't worked either nor the WD40 which I used before reading your reply , Doooh !! I'll take it to Lexus and they can faff with it now , thanks again NemesisUK , just so nigglingly annoying hehe !
  19. Hadn't thought about a tight seal as the window appears to slide easily but just tried it a few minutes ago and now it is happening again even higher up in the window frame and yes to answer your question in the wet too but I've used my usual method to close it Ok , i'll try some WD40 in the seals tomorrow thanks for the tip hopefully it will be a simple fix ????
  20. Hi all .. My Rx450h offside rear window is behaving erratically in that It will open fully no problem but then I close it and it will only raise 10cm or so then it reverts itself to the fully open position again even tho' i'm trying to close it I've checked and nothing is obstructing the window closing and the only way I can close it is to do so in very small increments using the switch until it is past the point where it keeps dropping open then it will close all the way without a problem Any thoughts or similar problems encountered , it's no big deal but just midly annoying Thanks in advance
