  1. Hello Alaw and all fellow UX UX owners. I have this vertical line on my UX and assume it is part of the window heating system. This will be confirmed the next time you de ice the window. Stay safe and well all of you.
  2. Anyone who has owned a Lexus for any length of time (me 16 years) must know the company is not what it was in terms of product provided and quality of service provided by dealers. When I eventually changed my IS200 for a CT albeit Premier I realized what I already guessed, quality of product not so good. With that in mind I knew that the UX I changed the CT for was basicallt mostly Toyota and sad to say rather cheaply put together despite being a Lexus. Basically brought the UX because I did not like the CHR. Rear end looks like a crumpled piece of paper. Why did I buy another Lexus if I knew all this? Good question I keep asking my self. Willing suspension of disbelief my be in what Lexus as a brand has become. Having said all that the CT was a good, economical, reliable car the 3 years I had it. Told the salesman at Cambridge last February that I would not be suprised if Lexus pulled out of Europe in what 5 to 10 years. That was before the announcement to stop importing the CT, IS etc. Only hope Toyota/ Lexus have got something up their sleeve and will suprise us all.
  3. You are so right in what you say about buying from dealers either new or used cars. In the 16 years I have owned a Lexus in my experience the company is not the same in terms of product and service but still happy to buy a Lexus hence the new UX.
  4. Hello Linas.P Thank you for your comprehensive explanation. You are most improbably right in what you say. What I was referring to is what is often called lane changing indication ie indicators operate for say 3/5 times then cancel automatically so thanks for the heads up. BTW sorry to see you had such a bad experience with Lexus Reading. I used them for 12 years to service my IS200 and had no problems in that time so based on your experience something has changed.
  5. Fisrt encountered this phenomenon when I had an IS300 as a loaner from Reading Lexus while my IS200 was being serviced. Quite scary I must admit until I figured out what was going on and got used to it after only a short while. I had same feature on my MY17 CT and now on my MY20 UX. No real bother but wonder if feature is really necessary but having said that the same can be said about a lot of functions on modern cars. To put things in context I remember when having indicators on a car was something fantastic. Until they appeared all you had was a little orange sticky out thing. Dynamic cruise control! Now you are talking, what a gizmo that is.
  6. I have used Zaino Z7 for the last 15 odd years coupled with the occasional waxing. Never, never go to the "scratch and shine " boys. Always the greatest of pleasures to wash your own car. Why not look in at "Clean your Car" and "Detailing World " sites for more info.
  7. I used the HA and HR app on my CT for 3 years via an OBD Link LX. Am now using it on my new UX. Works no problem and provides a wealth of information. Certainly helps me try and get the best out of the Hybrid system. Certainly recommend it. While I am on anybody got a recommendation for a mobile phone holder siutable for the UX. The air vent one I had in the CT does not fit in the UX vents.
  8. Thanks to Roy of the Rovers and Ed the Ted for the info on the e manuals. Will give it a go.
  9. Hello Bout Time. Re UX. Had the car for a month now and took it up to Manchester a couple of weeks ago. Overall much better car, although appreciate CT is 10 years old. UX has a better ride and more power when you need it. Surprisingly boot is actually smaller on the UX due to greater slope of the boot door. Getting close to the 50% running in EV as claimed by Lexus. Car needs to be driven more like a Hybrid compared to CT to get best mpg. Having started life with Lexus in 2004 with an IS200 SE and then the CT Premium I think the finishing of the UX could be better, too much hard plastic that is just waiting to be scratched. No matter as I knew that before purchase. Sat Nav is over complicated butgets me where I want to go. Test drive is essential to fully be fully aware of cars pros and con. Purchased the UX through Lexus Cambridge who were great throughout although they have still to get me a hard copy of the Sat Nav OM. I will report further on the UX forum for those that are interested but happy to answer any questions on both cars.
  10. Just popping in to throw in my 2p's worth. I had a MY17 CT Premium for just over 3 years and 12v battery was never a problem . In the time I had the car it covered 12 500 miles, so not a lot of use. I did however recognise the need to give the car a run once a week to keep the battery topped up. Even purchased a CTek but never needed it. Lexus are aware of 12v battery problems in the Covid 19 lock down time so worth visiting them for further advice. CT is a great car but wanted something a little bigger so changed it for a UX.
  11. I had Lexus Cambridge fit a Nextbase dashcam for £350 when I purchased a new UX250H from them.( traded in my MY17 CT). Dash cam works fine.
  12. Hello IJP and thanks for your reply. Agree with all you said but I am not worried about boot space (I knew it was smaller than the CT before purchase)as most of the time there is only me and the other half so luggage requirements are not so great as with a usual family size car. Incidentally, purchased car through Lexus Cambridge who were faultless throughout. Quite refreshing actually.
  13. Hello Colvic 25 I had mine fitted in February 2020. Cost was approximately £225 inc. Vat.
  14. Had exactly the same fitted to my CT by Lexus Cambridge. Made no difference to the performance or hadling of the car. Would not know it was there apart from the stickers on the windows. I have changed the CT for a UX so can't say how affective the Catloc will be in the long term.
  15. Welcome to the UX lot as well Ed the,Ted. I will give a report after I have driven her for a good few miles. I have noticed that the traction battery takes a lot more regen braking and engine input to stay charged than the CT did. One question for those with more experience with the UX: how does engine braking work when decending a hill? The CT had a specific engine braking function but there is no equivalent on the UX. Any help here folks?
