  1. @EP80 endoscope is perfect for catching it early, If it's on the bell housing that's when it's filled the area under the inlet manifold of coolant and its overflowing. From reading around it's due to the pink coolant eating away at the sealant they used on the valley plate. Coolant also gets acidic as it ages. The car care nut on YouTube has done a video of it and recommends changing the coolant every 2 years. This effects every UR block including the LC500, its a case of when rather than if unfortunately.
  2. @EP80the tell tale sign is seeing dried pink coolant on the bellhousing of the transmission when you look underneath.
  3. Westfield in Rayleigh, Essex have done a few valley plate repairs recently on ISF's. I'd give them a call
  4. That's way too much £ !! You can get 5 litres of the fluid for less than £50 on lexus parts direct and it doesn't take hours to do either. Draining the transmission pan and refill is roughly 3.7 litres. Give Lexus Swindon a call (lexus parts direct) I'm sure the price will be less.
  5. @Rob RCF track time was great fun, get a session booked at your local track mate, your RCF will fly around. I Managed a very eco 9mpg on track 🤣 so a whole day might get expensive. Will you be at Caffeine and Machine on the 25th June ?
  6. @scudney you are spot on John, it was a pleasure to meet and talk to you and your son. Hopefully we can tempt you round to getting an ISF 👍
  7. @BillNick same here, I walked by your stand a couple times and didnt see you, we must of been walking at opposite ends to each other all day lmao. We were very lucky with the weather and the track time was really good
  8. Photos from Japfest 2023. Had a really nice day and it was a pleasure meeting and talking to everyone. The ISF was pretty good on track too. Anyone else have any photos or videos from the day?
  9. @BillNickjoin the whatsapp group for it mate. The link is further back in this thread
  10. @BillNick I think we have 6 or 7. some owners are convoying up from London early in the morning. Nothing concrete yet but will let you know. I'll be heading in from Northampton early morning.
  11. Yeah I'm not sure what happened with that, it created 2. I'll try and delete the one
  12. Absolutely, follow that link and it should take you to it. Any issues direct message me 👍. Same again, if you know anyone else in an F that is attending Japfest but not on the stand, send them the link to join the chat too. F family 🤟🤟
  13. https://chat.whatsapp.com/HhostSviyflIshQ56Fc0tK There's the link to the What's app chat I've done. It's new to me so I'm hoping I've done it correctly 🤣. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone too, can't wait 👍
  14. @Isf marcthere isn't one at the moment mate. Shouldn't be a problem to set up
  15. When I purchased my ISF from a Lexus dealership I was given a 1 year warranty, I noticed the tick a week later and got it done under warranty. I've only read the American forums and groups and they've said you can run the car with the tick.
  16. @sunboyI'd go to SRD tuning. I think I've seen them mentioned before on here and I know they've built an IS300 Sportcross with a 800hp 2JZ attached to an ISF gearbox. Yeah as far as I'm aware, when mine had a cracked manifold it ticked on cold start, it didn't tick once warm and didn't seem to affect the car. I was lucky and had it done under warranty
  17. @sunboy I looked at all sorts of cars before I got my ISF 4 years ago. I can't add any more than what others have said. Take someone with you to look at one and if it's the right car take the plunge ! I wanted a reliable V8 whilst I could have one. And if something does go wrong it was simple enough to do with patience, spanners and several cups of tea. I replaced the water pump and radiator on my drive way and the lower control arm bushes were replaced with GSF bushes at an independent garage I knew was full of experienced and professional car enthusiasts. Another item of note, I replaced the touch screen digitiser which is a common failure across all Lexus models of the time, easy job at home again. Compared to its German rivals reliability is excellent with the biggest cost being the manifolds (which you can live with ticking of need be) and the valley plate which must be done if it does leak but is extremely rare over here. Plenty of YouTube clips to do jobs at home if you're good with spanners and the American Facebook groups are very helpful as well. Apart from the rad, pump, digitiser it's just been fuel, tax and tyres in my ownership. My car is a 2008. suspension is overdamped but is holding up very well for 15 years old.
  18. We have 7 or 8 at the moment. I think. If you know anyone else who would be interested but isn't on send them the information see if they're interested
  19. @Isf marc Awesome mate, plenty of room left. Details are further up this thread. Just quote the club code when you purchase the tickets on the Japfest website. Any issues give me a personal message and I'll help
  20. I thought £2700 was expensive considering I could get an RCF gearbox and torque converter together for £1700. @Isf marc could be a golden opportunity to look into other diffs. Quite a few fit our cars, a quick search on Google and looking at the American forum they've swapped in IS350, GS450h diffs with a higher ratio, aiming towards better acceleration. If you want standard, and if you can find one, the diffs used on the LS460 F Sport are the same as ours. See below from the American forum
  21. Would of been interesting to run a magnet down the left C pillar testing for body filler, looked like it had crumpled from the smash looking closely at the photos. If the repair work was good and everything replaced as it should of been (rear crash bar, boot etc) and no further damage to rear subframe etc. If it came with proof of full service history I think it would of been a steal, especially for a what would of been a very capable track car for 9k. Just my 2p worth, what do you guys think ?
  22. @GSF_REG I've already got my ticket mate. The club code is further up this thread 👍
  23. @GSF_REGExcellent, glad you can make it mate. Absolutely all are welcome
  24. ISF owner here. Are you pressing the accelerator pedal all the way down so it clicks the kickdown button ?
