  1. I'll get in touch with Kelsey media. Ohh, on the email it included spaces, I copied and pasted it across. Sorry about that everyone, no spaces it is
  2. Hi everyone, to book Into the club stand. Quote this when you purchase club tickets. Club name :- Lexus F Club Club code :- JF101-159 Aimed at F cars but not going to turn anyone away who is interested in joining. Likewise If you know anyone who isn't on here with an F or something mad who would be interested, forward them on, the more the merrier 🤟😁.
  3. Excellent, I'll get the stand booked after work today. I'll share the details once done. @Flash Fire which body kit have you gone for 👀👀
  4. Excellent, we just need 1 more to secure a stand.
  5. Hi everyone, would it be worth getting in touch with Lexus UK again but angle the discussion in terms of percentages? For example if 7/8 of you GSF owners alone are suffering this issue and they only sold 73 GSF's in the UK. That would account for circa 10% of cars sold having an issue which seems pretty significant indicating a manufacturing defect ? Just trying to help as it's disappointing to see so many being affected, I'd be gutted if it was my car. If my idea is no use, no worries 🤣
  6. We had a Ford Fiesta stolen off our drive in November last year (2022). They didn't bat an eyelid to the ISF, they have been going around stealing fords and BMW's in my area, seems to be the common theme. Easy to sell parts on etc. I've taken extra security measures on the F but if they want it they can have it. Same as echoed in this post, I don't want them in my house and if they did joy ride it, I wouldn't want it back.
  7. When I had wipers fitted on my ISF at a dealership they gave me two options, standard or premium. I went with premium. I can't say what's what etc but I've had no issues since they've been fitted. I'll check the blades to see if a logo is on them and report back next time I venture out.
  8. Excellent, so far we've got 3, we needed 6 last year to secure the stand. If anyone knows someone who would be interested spread the word and the love. It would be awesome to have a massive line up of F cars. @GSF_REG, @hockeyedwards , @Rob RCF would you guys be interested ?
  9. @BillNick hi mate, I haven't organised the Stand yet, tickets only came up for sale the other day. At the moment I'm just looking to see if there is demand to do one this year before committing.
  10. Hi everyone, the early bird Japfest tickets are available now. £20 Who's interested!? Japfest is on the 23rd April next year. This year we had 4 turn up on the F stand. Hopefully we can hit it harder this time around with as many F's attending, I'm still yet to meet more of you in person. I'm happy to organise the stand for those interested Who's in !? https://events.fastcar.co.uk/japfest/
  11. Hi @Fanciee, I have an 08 with the e-diff. It's not as good as modern solutions but is close, a friend's M140i e-diff reacted quicker and more effectively than the one in the ISF but a lot has changed in computing from 2008 to modern day. Personally for general road use and the odd bit of fun, I haven't been lusting after the LSD. Only time it's caught me out is in manual mode mid corner upshifts on full throttle in the wet, but that'll unsettle any car, and one time trying to pull away from a junction at a really weird inclined angle. When I've launched it off the line I've never had 1 wheel peel. I'll be going to 275 rear tyres when they need changing, they do fit the standard rims for that extra grip.
  12. I noticed from doing a post blast check that the bushes get quite warm, especially if you've been having fun. The CATs are not far away from the LCA bushes. Might be causing the rubber to heat cycle fatigue a bit quicker than normal.
  13. Ahh yes I've read about the tensioner, the locking mechanism inside failed causing it to move around. An ISF owner in America has done this repair at his home on axle stands, I think there name is lil Evo from memory. https://youtu.be/QnEjU8QtjA8 My car has the 'ISF tick' due to the high pressure fuel pump, the exhaust manifold was done under warranty. I've never noticed any issues with it and everyone says its normal when I've read around. The cam design for the HPFP only has 2 lobes rather than the more common design of 3, so could be a contributing factor. If/when the valley plate goes on mine I think I'll go DIY, take my time and pray an Injector clip doesn't break 🤣. I haven't seen an LC500 suffer this fate yet.
  14. @ubersonic I've never heard of the cam guide design flaw ? Would you be able to provide more information about it and a link to any reading material ?
  15. @k80 excellent, I'll get a ticket shortly. I need to clean mine this afternoon/evening as well, the weather looks hit and miss for tomorrow but fingers crossed. What time are you arriving there for ?
  16. @lexus-chris If you can stretch your budget, the 2010 on autotrader at just under 27k is an ex forum members car and was local to me, before that it was owned by Lexus. It's in very good condition and would be my choice if I didn't already have an ISF, it's a true 2010 with the facelift headlights, there are a few 2010s that are 2009's registered later on. Echoing @ubersonicI agree the ISF is underappreciated and undervalued in the UK. The prices are a lot stronger in the US and the car is slowly getting the recognition it deserves. It was miles ahead of its time when released, there is a lot of untapped potential and it will always be Lexus's first attempt at a sports/super saloon. And only 200ish were ever shipped to the UK.
  17. If it's any help, when I had the GSF bushes on put on mine. The inner edge was already worn due to the old bushes being past their best, the movement under braking and slow speed manoeuvring was quite noticeable. This led to the inner edge wearing on my front left. It had worn down a lot after being on the car for 6 months and not many miles. Since swapping the bushes in April. The same tyre is still on the car and the front right has no uneven inner wear. so it looks to have solved the fast degradation rate on mine. Still on the original MY08 suspension. I suppose it doesn't help having around 54% of the cars weight up front on 225 tyres speaking OEM terms. Wider tyres spread weight over a greater area, might help a little but @Linas.P is right, it's usually toe that kills inner edges. Pressure wise I run 32psi all round cold. I did try the factory pressure settings for top speed once just to see. Never again 🤣
  18. I've read on American forums that 2014 ISF's have suffered the same leak as well as an RCF suffering the valley plate leak too. Rather than using a gasket or rubber seal setup, Toyota used sealant to secure the valley plate in the 2UR block, looks like this will be a common thing due to the design. The updated sealant has decreased the likelihood of this failure from occurring, hardly ever seen the later F cars report with this issue. Time wise, I've read various quoted times to complete the job from 2.5hrs to 13hrs. Experience is a big bonus in lowering the time. Definitely worth a shot asking for a contribution from Lexus as it's a very well documented issue. Don't ask you don't get. But an independent with good techs shouldn't have a problem. You have to unplug a lot of the wire harness clips on top of the engine to move it out of the way, remove the intake manifold with the port injectors in, remove a piece of foam, remove a piece of pipe that links both banks of direct injectors. Very very very carefully unclip the direct injector electrical connectors and pray they don't break. Remove the valley plate, clean the area and reseal, there's also 2 O-rings that connect a pipe to the valley plate that can get pinched. There's more to the process too. In theory it's a low difficulty rating but a very tedious process. I'd of thought the RCF, GSF and LC500 would be slightly easier to do this on as they don't have the nest of wires on top of the intake manifold like we do.
  19. I couldn't say if there are specialists in that area, I don't have any knowledge of there. You'll never see it in the engine bay unless you have a boroscope to look underneath the intake manifold. You might see it at the back of the engine near the firewall. If you follow the post @steve2006has tagged, that Lexus dealership might be a safe option as a member of the service team has experience doing it. Everything is very brittle from years of heat cycling, injector connectors/tabs can be broken as well as knock sensors, none of which are cheap. SRD down south are pretty good from reading around too. From research this has the potential to occur on every 2UR block, which includes the LS. I'd ring around a few Lexus dealerships and see if they have any team members that have done the repair before as this will help a lot, make sure they use the updated sealant too where ever you get the work done. Have a good read around the web and on YouTube, it's doable on the drive if you're mechanically inclined and very careful.
  20. Unfortunately that's most likely the valley plate leaking. Tell tale sign is the coolant leaking down onto the gearbox bell housing and undertrays
  21. I didn't see it until after I bought the car. I wasn't given much opportunity to inspect at the dealership, I didn't help myself as I was under the illusion I was going to a Lexus dealership and wouldn't have any issues which was a monumental oversight, one of life's lessons for me. Some bits were in the corners of the boot, most were underneath the spare wheel cover and in the wheel well, with more pieces falling out of the boot ceiling liner. Before anyone says, yes I knew it was a second hand car, and yes I know everything has a past, but that was just a disgrace. From reading around, I wasn't the only one to suffer from this dealership either. @Rob RCF the experience will always have a slight taint to it, I got it exactly how I wanted it before Japfest and she looks the part now. Be good if we can do a club meet up in the middle, the south one is too far for me. The cars looked great together at Japfest.
  22. @Duggie B I wish I went to your dealership. Or by the looks any other Lexus dealership In the country. I had photos, email evidence, the works. Got nothing, wouldn't even let me have a full refund.
  23. With there being so few of the F cars around, I'd go and see both cars and pick which one is best if possible, do all the necessary history, service checks etc etc. As others have mentioned, If a car at an independent qualifys for Lexus relax, it will come down to the lifetime cost on finance, if you're buying out right, get the best value for money. My car came from a main dealer with smashed glass in the boot and spare wheel area, the previous owners chewing gum, and their child's hotwheels toy, worst buying experience I've ever had and never again👍. I got had big time and its cost me a lot to get the car up to spec. Obviously the 170 point plan is not applied at Lexus Coventry and I don't recommend a free drink from them, let alone a car. Not all dealerships are the same, that's why I recommend seeing each car and evaluating before deciding. What @Linas.P has said is right, I've got things in writing and the Lexus dealership did nothing to remedy anything or give me a refund.
  24. That's good news ! It looks like the limiter has been removed on the ISF with ECU remaps. https://youtu.be/FhJ4aeHCXXk
