Glad you had a great time - real envious - I have been away working everytime it comes around - well the last three years since I had had the car and known about JAE. I should do some forward planning next year and book days off either side of the weekend - would be real good to meet a lot of you guys and put faces to names. Many moons ago I used to have a Beetle - no sniggering, youth is a wonderful thing - it just don't last. I used to go to all the shows/events and really enjoyed them. That's it!! - will make sure I get there next year - gonna be right jealous when you all start commenting on how great it was. Anyway should have all the bits fitted to the car by then!!! Mine's a 2001/Y, bought it May 2004 with 47K and FLSH - probably paid over the odds but the missus wanted a bee em 3 series. She is well chuffed that I talked her out of it. Been spending on some exterior bits lately and the front discs haven't got long left, but apart from service and tyres not a penny spent (yet) - not even a bulb gone. She's on 64K now and still as smooth. Got some 18's to put on, so will need the geometry done - and a few TTE body bits - but the cost of buying and putting them on will be less than I would have spent on the type of cars I had before. I use an old ford escort for going to the office when I am home, the wife works local and uses the Lexus, but that thing has cost me over £600 in the last year and it's a crock of s :tsktsk: t. The kids won't go in the escort - even dropping them off at the leasure centre means using the Lexus - too embarassing!!!!

Out of my budget range for the forseeable future I'm afriad After sitting in a really nicely specced IS250 in the showroom last week I'm gutted I'll have to wait for another three years, at least!! Gonna have to get a test drive though - just so I will know what to look forward to!!!!

Cameroon, or Cameroun depends where you are from! Offshore Douala/Kribi - stuck out here but can still see land and get mobile signal. Already done offshore Port Harcourt, Lybia and DR Congo this year. Got a feeling I will be returninghere quite quick after repatriation - the things you do to pay the bills!!! I know what you mean about the land lines out here (just been reading group buy thread), I have got a broadband connection that thinks it's a 56K modem!!! You shore based or bobbing around?

Gonna have to wait a while sorry, stuck offshore west africa. Gonna be back middle of next month. Then again could always ask the missus to send me a few pics, but I ain't had time to put the bits on yet. Here's the outline: 2001 Platinum Ice S - Dumped the 16's and put 6 spoke 18's on. Have got TTE front bumper and boot lip (in primer), lexus rear bumper skirt (primer) and lexus side skirts (1C0), all to be fitted. Standard audio, cloth interior (been offered leather/suede but missus and money... you know!) but love it. Bought it may 2004 with 47k, now 63k going great. Tyres the biggest problem. I had been looking at the geometry threads but need to find someone in south wales are that will do it. Anyway, will see if she will oblige and send some in so you can see a before and after. She still looks a little high, so i'm gonna have a search about lowering - maybe just some springs to start.
