  1. Recently I've noticed my internal heater is blowing slightly warm when set to the lowest 16 degrees Celsius setting whether it's on recirculation or external airflow, it was fine one morning and then like this in the afternoon, but I just put it down to the hot and humid weather making the internal components hotter than normal because the air con still works fine. Today I noticed it is still running hotter than normal so changed the temperature one unit at a time and it stays at this warm temperature all the way until 25 and then gets hotter at 26 onwards and then is much hotter than I remember 30 being over winter. Any ideas on what has happened? Is there something I can check? Am I looking at a new heater matrix? :(
  2. I fitted genuine Toyota/Lexus clear side repeaters on my 1996 Series I GS300 Sport and took them off when I sold it and fitted them on my 2003 Series II GS430 Sport the day I collected it. More information can be found in an old thread of mine: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=14955
  3. Sorry for the late reply, but I still haven't fitted either of them yet. Lately I've been thinking I'll probably only fit the rear sensor and sell the front one. I promise I'll update this thread when I get round to fitting something. :)
  4. I haven't got around to looking at my starter motor yet, but over the last couple of weeks the car has been firing up like normal without any of the recent problems.
  5. Since running on Super Unleaded recently for a few tanks and doing the ECU reset I've been getting around 20 MPG around town. I'm back on Unleaded and am still getting around 20 at the moment.
  6. Thanks for the link. :) I'll ask if they do a kit for the Series II.
  7. I've tested my battery and it's healthy, so I assume it's my starter motor based on the characteristics of the fault. My dad and I are going to take it off and give it a good clean before I go down the route of replacing it.
  8. When I had my 1996 Sport the V5 just said "GS300" even though it was a genuine Sport. I later found out on here that they came into this country as regular GSes and were then modified by Lexux GB to the Sport spec, so this might impact on the V5's details.
  9. In the last week I'm having exactly the same problem with my 2003 GS430 and the battery appears fine. It wouldn't start this morning on a couple of attempts, but on the third I turned it off and went straight from off to turning the engine over, instead of waiting on On for a few seconds, and it started like normal. Where can I find the starter motor on my car to have look at it?
  10. I've got a 2003 GS430 and don't see why the auto rear view mirror defaults to on when you start the car, surely you only need it when the headlights are on.
  11. After coming back from a two week holiday and driving to a basketball game with a fully loaded car, I've noticed my headlights don't seem to be projecting out into the road as far as I remember before the holiday. It's as if they're stuck pointing down since having the extra weight in the car and haven't adjusted back without the weight. The main beams are fine. Is there a way I can reset them, like removing a fuse for example?
  12. The height was just my own observation but without taking before and after measurements to compare, I can't confirm if it was actually higher, although it certainly wasn't non-Sport height. The car handled as good as before, if not better because the springs were new and not broken. I don't have the 300 Sport anymore after I part exchanged it for a 430 Sport last year. I was sad to see her go but am loving the 430. :)
  13. Have a look at my thread, particularly from post number 17 onwards: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=34331
  14. After trying the different gearbox modes on my Series I 300 Sport I stayed with power mode because the car drove better and I got more MPG than normal mode, so since getting my 430 Sport I naturally went straight to this mode, that was until recently. With the cold and icy weather I made use of snow mode for the non-gritted roads in my area and then put the gearbox into normal mode when on safer roads but I thought I would leave it in normal mode to see how the fuel lasts compared to power mode and so far it's lasting noticeably longer. If only I had tried this before, I could have saved a bit of money on fuel since getting the 430.
  15. I owned my Series I Sport for over four years and cold idling was always high. My 430 Sport idles high too but isn't as noticeable as my 300 was.
  16. I owned my Series I Sport for over four years and never found a way to improve the keyfob's range. On rare occasions it would work from much further away than normal and on some occasions it wouldn't work at all.
  17. I had my car serviced yesterday and asked them to activate the transmitter window roll-up feature, but they were unable to because when they connected it to the computer this option was greyed out and couldn't be selected. I'm disappointed that I can't have this convenient feature.

  19. I've got a 2003 GS 430 and get about 18 MPG around town and about 30 on the motorway.
  20. I like this part of the press release: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/articles/...SPORT_144.shtml Although how does that work if you're not even doing 7,000 miles per year?
  21. I haven't fitted them yet, but a garage has been made available for me to use so hopefully I'll have at least the rear one fitted in the next few weeks. The sooner the better now the rear windows are tinted.
  22. After a lot of thinking I went with 5% tints on the rear, which is what I wanted on my last two cars and didn't do. I haven't tinted the front two because the factory glass in this is already on the legal limit and insurers are using tinted front windows as an excuse to get out of claims, no matter how light they are.
  23. Here are the sensors bagged: The top one is for the front and the bottom one is for the rear.
  24. Sorry to dig up an old thread, but my question seemed to fit here rather than start a new one. I recently got a 2003 GS430 Sport and the sat nav software, which I think is a 2002 revision, doesn't have a postcode search, which makes it pretty useless in certain situations. Does more recent software for this car have a postcode search?
  25. I've found out this is an option that can be enabled and disabled by Lexus dealers, so I guess some cars come with it enabled while others come with it disabled. I'm going to get Lexus to enable the transmitter window roll up feature when it's in for its service. As for the knocking, it's still there and I haven't had a chance to get the car up yet for an inspection. It's definitely not there when driving over bumps and speed bumps and I cannot make it do it when the car is stationary, but it always happens when turning onto inclined surfaces like driveways and multi-story car park ramps.
