  1. If I get my car back, it will be due a 40k service. What prices have you guys been quoted/paid in the past. As the figure I've been quoted seems a little steep.
  2. I had a similar problem in a previous car. The air bag light on/flashing, it was due to the signal/sensor lead that's under the driver's seat for the seat belt retainer. Just a thought!
  3. Looks pretty damn sexy. I can't read Japanese, but I'm sure the above says something along the lines of: "This car looks great, owning one of these will be like winning the 'I have the largest ***** in the word award' " Bling Bling pulling power.
  4. I presume the top end speed would remain the same?? - Due to box restrictions? Would a box from a Supra or similar not fit?
  5. I just know that the problems aren't going to end once its fixed. I don't want all the hassle of the repercussions due to the crash
  6. Lexus Poole is part of the Westover Group - Westover Group have their own body shop. Spoke to them today, there's about £5000's worth of damage. The guy won't do any extras, I've tried to get a sport grill, he said "I don't think there's any damage to the grill, but I'll check again". They're putting two new front wheels on, I said that the backs now won't match! He said we'll have to wait and see - So I said can't they just be refurbed under her insurance? I asked about the painting, he said they're going to do the wing, blend it over the bonnet and into the passenger rear door. He's also going to do the scratches on the rear bumper, I've asked if he can look at the spoiler as it looks like its been done badly before. They said they're replacing the complete suspension setup (excluding brakes) and they will straighten out the A pillar. I'd not very happy about this, seems a lot of work!! He said he's sending the quote off to the insurance company today, the guy won't give me anything for nothing! I think I might give the 3rd party insurance a call and kick off, apparently the assessor didn't want to know about my clutch concirns as they think the clutch drives ok.
  7. I told the police at the time that I thought she was txting, I don't think they were interested to be honest. It would have been a different story if she'd killed some one or they'd noticed her driving along using the phone. I don't think she'll do it again!
  8. Yeh, got a IS200 SE through Swift, her insurance are paying (about £110 a day!) I've had to put it on my own insurace tho because i'm 19, so they have to cover the additional premium of £105 for that too!
  9. Luckly enough she's admitted it to her insurance, got the pics just in case.
  10. She hadn't been drinking, I think she was txting on her mobile just before she hit me, would explain why she wasn't looking at the road. The assessor's attending this morning. I've told them I want two new wheels aswell as they both became damaged by the kurb and where she hit. Externally, the damage is as follows: Bumper Wing Door Wheel - both sides I was told to move the car at the time, this shaved about a year off the clutch, so i'm playing on this too. Back's giving me jip so been to the Dr's and all that. Just gutted.
  11. I have....purely to p1ss off a crowd of car hating bikers! ← GOOD LAD!!! ← I did a mint doughnut in a wet car park - can't afford the prices of burnouts thesedays!
  12. Last night, me (for a change) driving sensibly got ploughed into by a girl in a Fiesta who wasn't paying attention (txting or something). You will see from the pics that she kind of went straight on instead of following the bend. pics: http://www.diablosecurity.co.uk/crash I'm not too happy, got the car about 3-4 months ago, absolutely immaculate, bought on 34k for £11,150. I'm having it repaired through Lexus (Poole - Westover Group) but I'm concerned that this will de-value the car. I'd prefer the car to be written off so I can start again, as its a little unfair that my perfect car now has accident history. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Thanks Adam
  13. LV are local to me, I used to be insured with them but they won't insure me on the IS as the IG is too high, because I'm 19. You can do any mods you want, engine changes etc, for next to no price increase. Just don't expect a decent pay out
  14. I thought I had this problem when I first got my car, then I discovered you have to hold down the button. Are you as simple as me??
  15. You mean there's an imbetween to foot down and foot up? :D I will give it a try, i'm getting better at the OAP driving, my bank balance helps with this. Thanks
  16. I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong! I seem to always get around the 300 miles mark on £50. Thats filling to the brim shortly after the light comes on. I managed to drive like a nanna for the duration of a whole tank, didn't seem to make any difference!! Whats the secret?
  17. I don't think flux will insure under 19's.
  18. I'm 19/20, 3 Points and a claim, living in nr bmth on a good post code, paying about £1600 for insurance. You'll be lucky mate, the IS is the best thing I can insure for my age. Try Tesco, Egg.com & Direct line. Don't waste your time with flux, they tried charging me £2400!
  19. Dave, I might take you up on the offer of a spin after seen your car at donny! I've been up your way a lot reciently. I've got a job coming up, up there so I might have to give you a shout!
  20. My IS is 4 years old W reg - its black, there are swirls on the paint work, nothing major, it may well be a polishing thing. A few friends have said I should have it "mopped" as far as i know, this is a term for a sort of chemical polish that cuts back into the laquer very slighly which in turn removes the swirls?? If you find a cheaper solution I'd be glad to hear of it.
  21. Adam Troman Age - 19 Marital Status - Single Children - None (Phew!) Live in - Bournemouth, Dorset Job - IT Network Administrator and a Digital CCTV/Security Consultant in every other hour *** sends. No mods so far, all my dollar goes on fuel.
  22. I did at first think it may be a child lock, but I soon remembered that they are generally only used on rear doors, and they are to prevent the door being opened from the inside. The door does open fine from the inside. On previous cars they've had the feature of when you unlock the car, only the driver's door is opened, the key must be pressed again to unlock the other doors. But it just seems that the release mechanism from the outside isn't working??
  23. Hi, I have a 2000/W IS200 Sport. The car is great, I haven't had a single issue with it up until now. When I unlock the car, the central locking appears to work correctly, all doors apart from the Near Side (Front Passenger) are unlocked. The door simply won't open from the outside. Is this a security feature that I've overlooked? Has anyone else had similar problems? Can anyone recomend a solution? Thanks Adam
