  1. This sort of fault is the worst. You know it is not right but there is not anything glaringly wrong as such they can diagnose.... Really unlucky. Do they recognise it is not right but don't know what to do? I would try another Lexus branch.
  2. That red colour does not suit the isf some how, doesn't matter how rare it is. Most people would not choose that colour I think. Im sure the colour is one factor of why it hasn't sold. I also think the creaping up of the isf prices by dealers over last 18 months for the late models is not representative of the real market. I traded in my 2012 grey isf last month to a trader who offered me way more that Lexus would give me and more than I was expecting, the trader probably based the value on two or three late isfs that have been on AT (forever and not sold.....) the older pre 2011 sell at a reasonable price, but the late 2011 to 13 models seem artificially high to me.
  3. I would like to do this in my rcf too. Bar is not a preferred unit for me either. No big deal but would be nice in psi.
  4. Saw the blue one you bought on auto trader 4 weeks or so ago. I bought the bog standard unmolested white 15 plate rcf with 14k miles on it a month ago from Auto100.
  5. There are lots of videos of this car on you tube. He is called Black Panther. I wouldn't buy this car, it hasn't had a pampered life as such. If you wanted a track car this would be fine but it is way too expensive for the mileage etc.
  6. Each to their own, but I can not for the life of me see how the back of the GSF can be classed as ‘ugly’. Sorry didn't mean to offend.
  7. I saw another post with a picture of the proposed new isf a few weeks ago and it looked quite good in that photo. Presumably they haven't finalised exactly what is will look like and the photos vary? I really was originally keen on the gsf to replace my isf, but got an rcf instead in the end which I am really pleased with.
  8. If that is the final look of it, it isn't as F looking as it could be. They have not got the vents in the front wings this time and it doesn't look that different to the normal car. It is ugly at the back end too, but not as bad as GSF which is very ugly at the back, and enough so for me not to get a GSF. Hope this isn't the final ISF design.
  9. Definitely get your brake calipers from somewhere else not lexus, but still get good quality ones not the cheapest possible. Your car is quite old with quite a few miles so the shocks weeping is not unexpected. Eurocarparts sell pagid brake calipers for your car which are very good quality and will last just as well as lexus ones, you wont know the difference. These are for the sc430 rear
  10. They were all refurbed off the car by lexus Cambridge in a dark graphite colour with chrome affect when I bought it from them 3 and 1/2 years ago. They were away for 2 weeks and delayed me collecting it. One wheel was refurbed by me 2 years ago when I very lightly touched a kerb parking. So they should all still be good. They gave me 24k for it so probably cannot come down too much. Way more than Lexus trade in value...... Although apart from a few stone chips on the bonnet there was literally nothing for them to do to turn it around as I gave it over in valeted condition all serving up to date. The body was perfect, no dings or scuffs anywhere and all original paint work. Nothing to spend on it really before they sell it. Offer a bit less and see what they say?

  12. Yes all done by lexus Hatfield at per the age rather than mileage. I can confirm the major 60k service was done at around 40k. Also the tyres are all pilot 4 and almost new all round. It would be a good car for someone. Hope it goes to a decent owner rather than some wolly who ruins it.
  13. Yes that was mine. The reg is Kn62buu. Had new discs and pads all round at lexus only a few thousand miles ago. Has a few stone chips (not bad) on the bonnet, to make the car a1 the chips need sorting, the dealer may have done this? The drivers seat has some signs of wear/creasing only on the bolster, but all isf do and it shows more on white, was like this when I got it and hasn't got any worse. I never tracked it, just commuted to work in it 20 miles each way. Had it over three years with no problems just brakes and tyres replaced. Full service history with lexus from new. Totally standard car with no accident damage or body repairs. It is a good car, wish I could have kept it really.
  14. I can see the whole centre console nav and radio being a problem as the integrated satnav and radio won't work here and would be so difficult to source/expensive to replace with a UK unit it just would put me off.
  15. I personally think the prices are a bit cheaky for isf, they seem to be back up around 27 or 28k for a nice 2012 car which is what dealers were selling them for 3 years ago...
  16. Sounds like they are throwing parts at it as they are not quite sure what is wrong. Really unlikely to be more than one thing, and rare for even one of these items to go wrong.... Would be really bad luck.
  17. Most cars on ebay are also on autotrader and other car sale sites.
  18. One of them was mine. I traded it in 2 weeks ago. Currently on autotrader for £26950. I really miss the car actually, but don't regret selling at at this stage.
  19. I would like to get one when they are a few years old, as I had to replace my 2012 Isf with an RCF recently but I really wanted a 4 door.. Can't get a GSF very easily as they are sold before you get chance to view or they are too high mileage, and plus the GSF is just not a very good looking at the rear end or side view. Shame they ever stopped the Isf in the first place and that there was never an F replacement in the IS range. I still cannot work out the logic to this.
  20. I cannot relate to this review, but I had a totally standard low mileage 2012 model isf with pilot 4 tyres and proper diff. Was on rails and handled very well, and the ride was a little softer than the rcf. Never had the problem with lack of grip or bad ride, the handling was tight. Also the throttle was nice in normal mode and snappy and held the revs in sports mode. Had it over 3 years and did 30k miles in it. Gone to rcf now.
  21. With that mileage it is probably wear. Depending on what sort of life it has had. I think the more you do it the worst it will get. You can get some good oil treatments which help, like redline etc. I did this in an old high mileage mazda mx5 and it definitely helped and almost fully cured it unless I really rushed the gear change. Try a gearbox oil additive/treatment. You will notice the box will be a lot slicker. Also if it just had a recent clutch what oil did they put in the box as it needs to be the correct stuff. If that doesn't work you will have to be gentle or get a gearbox rebuild....
