  1. I agree both those cars they are hideous. The Rodius is so bad I find it actually is offensive to look at, I am supprised any were sold. A local Rodius to me always leaves me shaking my head every time it goes past. How could anybody buy one, the merc engine still is going to do it. It is a shocker.
  2. There is a really good piston heads you tube video of these two cars getting compared. He is saying the same as you.
  3. I think it is a few bhp more than the newer non track edition rcf and a tiny bit more torque.
  4. Why dont you run it without the thermostat temporarily until you get the right one from lexus. Heater will be colder but car will run fine. I have done this before on old cars. Are you sure you got all the air out the system when you changed the thermostat, you can get an airlock?
  5. The one at auto100 is my old car I traded in a few months ago. I would like to buy it back and have both but cannot, but very pleased with the rcf. For me grey and white leather looks very good. I can say my old isf has very recent front and rear discs and pads fitted at lexus Hatfield. Also has recent michelin tyres all round. The bonnet and front bumper has a few minor stone chips, rest of the car is immaculate. The drivers seat has some creasing on the side bolster, but they all have this at this age but white leather shows it more. The car is 100 percent straight and absolutely no dings or paint damage except the chips mentioned, no repairs or accidents. Had an easy life and totally standard. No track days or anything like that by me or the previous owner.
  6. Could be the exhaust too but i was thinking the actual ecu would be different to correctly adjust for the lower emissions on the newer cars, so the fueling would be different. I wouldn't think it is just an exhaust, but could be wrong.
  7. Forgot about that. But the gear will make a large difference.
  8. Hello, I had searched and searched for the same info. I have the early 477ps rcf so happy with performance, but was just for interest. The rcf was reduced in power in 2018 ish for emissions. I am sure it is just a different ecu but don't know for sure how they did it. Can't find anything about it. The 0 to 60 is always quoted the same but I can't see how it can be exactly the same as the gearing is the same I believe, so less power must be less performance ? Because nobody does remaps for these cars it isn't easy to just remap it to match the earlier cars bhp either. The very new rcf track edition rcfs have 5 more bhp than the early rcfs and lower gearing so can do 0 to 60 in 3.9 second. I don't think you would notice 5 bhp but the lower gearing would be noticeable so must be down to only that for the extra exceleration.
  9. Apparently the new f cars coming at some point to the uk will have twin turbo smaller v8 engines. So will be a different experience to what we have now.
  10. Should not be harder to push... Something is not right.
  11. The thrust release bearing might need lubing on the shaft or isn't on the fork properly. Or maybe the clutch itself is not fitted correctly? Think you should take it back to the garage and say it is not right. Should be a nice light pedal and a very smooth action if it is a new oem type clutch.
  12. Yes sorry I though you bought a stage 2 kit or something. Like a competition clutch. OK. Did you change it or a garage?
  13. Same as above, took me a few turns to realise what was going on as I didn't know how it worked. When I drove home in it after collecting it i was caught out a few times by it not cancelling as I expected and turned it in the other way. After a few weeks I was totally used to it and quite like it now actually, just different. The light push of the indicator stalk and 3 flashes and then it cancels is perfect for most situations. Only when you are statuary or slow moving do you need the indicator on until you turn.
  14. Should have gone for a standard or oem clutch assembly. Why didn't you?
  15. Hi, I didn't realise pressing a button on the infotainment system which then triggers the text message to be read out via the cars speakers was not allowed. It this forbidden in the UK? There is no reading of the text message as such unless you wanted to.
  16. You don't need to pull over if the texts are read out by the cars entertainment system. That is the whole point. It is a good feature! Same voice as the satnav.
  17. I have an rcf and my android phone works with text messages. Quite good feature actually!
  18. I had a similar problem. It was a bad set of front discs from lexus that was the problem. The first pair of new discs and pads they fitted previously they insisted on skimming when I returned with the problem. They were quite new, and had only done 1500 miles since fitting by them. I didn't want skimmed discs as it makes them thinner and takes life out of them and the warp imperfection in the disc is still there, it is just flattened at the disc surface. I agreed to it reluctantly though as I knew it would probably not fix it and they said I could bring it back. Then after 1500 miles sure enough the juddering came back, but also with brake fade and pulsing on the pedal. So they agreed to fit another set of new discs and pads for free and it was perfect after this. The very original set of discs and pads the car had from new had just worn out, but there was never any juddering or anything so I knew it was probably bad replacement discs that they had fitted. Everything was fitted by Lexus so I'm sure they clean the hubs up perfectly etc. They did say they have had bad batches of lexus brembo discs before with this problem. Anyway it cured it permanently. By the way I don't hold my car on the brakes after getting the brakes hot. I stop short and slightly keep rolling or go into neutral and use handbrake if I have to.
  19. Does the CT have run flat type tyres from new? They always give bad road noise due to stiffer side walls. Changing to different tyres can make a huge difference on road noise within the car. Obviously this has nothing to do with original post of passing traffic noise. The newer CT must have less sound deadening than previously, this is all it can be really. Sound proofing/deadening affects the harmonics of the car.
  20. I bought an f sport white I think it is called, got pearl affect. It is a 2015 plate, totally standard 1 owner 14k miles. Mark levinson and red leather. Has full lexus history and was a mature owner before, he even left set of winter rubber mats in the boot to swap with the carpet ones. There is not a single scratch or mark anywhere on it.
  21. That was a colour combo I have never seen before! Have you noticed how my rcf's are coming up for sale recently, more than normal I would say. There is a good turn over of these cars on AT at the moment and most seem to be selling quite quickly. Lower mileage also seems to be key obviously to the quick selling cars. Hope you and the other chap bilnick who also just bought rcfs enjoy them when you get them as much as I enjoy mine. I have had my rcf for 8 weeks now and think it is a brilliant car to drive. Takes a bit of getting used to compared to the isf I had previous, the rcf seemed very wide at first and bigger than it really is, steering is sharper and tighter, also the throttle response is far snappier. Took a few hundred miles to get used to the way the rcf drives and I am very happy with it. I can feel how the rcf is another step forward from the isf in technology and drive experience, there is quite a difference between the rcf and late model isf in my opinion.
  22. You bought the yellow one from autotrader that went on a few days ago.
  23. Doesn't say armytrix exhaust now either on the add. So probably price rise is paying towards a standard exhaust to be fitted.
