  1. People ! ........ REGARDLESS of what model you IS200 is ...... or if you CD is on top or bottom ..... use a voltage meter ... and find the pin that gives an output of anything between 4.5v - 5v. That is most likely going to be your mute wire ..... I have a 2001 IS200 SE (CD ON TOP) Nokia Car Kit CK-112 (bluetooth) and it works a treat ....... !
  2. The front windows need to let in at least 70% Light. So you can only have the fronts tinted at 30% maximum ! Hope that helps ..... I think it may be a few % up or down, nothing big though !
  3. It doesn't have the second block ? .... well don't go chopping up wires, it will still work on the same concept ... look for the wire that delivers an output of about 4.5 - 5v. That will be the mute wire :-) :winky:

  5. Hello mate, I'd like to say that I spent hours and ... actually two days with the same problem you are facing. I have the same stereo as yourself, and also the Nokia Car Kit, though mine is the 112, it works on the same concept. I installed the kit my self, and therefore I know you can mute it, mine does, and it works a treat. What you need to do is ....... find the second block (the one with less wires in it) that's where the mute output is. When I installed mine, the mute output was actually blank, so what you need to do is, get a voltage meter .... find the second block (with less wires in it) and poke the meter into the blank slots, and find one that give you an output of about 4.5 - 5V , that's the MUTE output. Then simply connect the YELLOW mute cable from the car kit to that pin, and your done ! Hope that helps, I have images of the blocks, etc too ... if you want them.
  6. Happy Birthday mate, I have only noticed that the icon is named after you ! LOL! hahahhaa :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee: :zee:
  7. Nick, I was searching through the whole topic to find that lyric .... excellent mate, you got there before me, that is a top tune yes ! Kanye West also sings it ........ "one day might snatch your necklace, the next day .... might jack your Lexus !" It's just a great car, what do u all expect ? :zee:
  8. Mac's only rule to a certain extent :)
  9. I'd get a Lexus from the UK, wouldn't bother with the 'Toyota' Altezza, no dis-respect to the Altezza owners .... but I think it's silly when people buy Altezza's .... then put Lexus badges on it. It's a Grey Import .... not the genuine Lexus :-) Blah !
  10. I Use Trillian, because it has all the top messengers in one ... MSN / AOL / YAHOO / ICQ / IRC ..... all in one program, "Trillian" ... so it saves loads of system resources ..... rather than crashing your pc all the time! And Claire, please ... Ginger Nuts, if you have some ! :-) Ta !
  11. Claire, Make us a cuppa then ? Milk with 2 sugars pls :-) Ta !
  12. Another, maybe useless ... but interesting poll :-) Well, I'm in East London, and have knowledge in LAW / COMPUTERS / PHONES :-) so anyone want any help, just add me to MSN = ahmet@metserve.com Maybe, people can use this poll as a general place to let others know what his/her skills are and contact address , so it's easier to get help from each other. peace out.
  13. You want luxury, then you get LeXuS ..... get it with the sat NAV ..... but not for £8K :-), U might be able to get a Ford for that price ? :-)
  14. FireFox is just great .... can do everything IE does and MORE ... and it's not from Microsoft, so it won't crash :-) You can add great looking themes, and extensions to it ... FireFox all the way I say ! :-)
  15. I just recently stopped using IE, and installed !FireFox ! from Mozilla It's great ! Just curious what everyone else here uses
  16. Hi everyone, I was driving in to work today, when at about 9.20am - 9.30am on the A12 WESTBOUND (towards London) at about the NEWBURY PARK area I noticed this BLUE IS200 X Reg, it was lowered, had these huge Chrome wheels, and a BLACK BONNET. There was four exhausts at the back, two on either side .... I believe it was a Chinese type guy driving it (windows were tinted) That thing looked absolutley gorgeous ... I'm not into modifying the Lex hugely or, not at all shall I say, however the one I saw this morning was looking slick ! Cheers ! Oh and, while i'm on that subject, I'm going to have to ask the driver / owner my self, if I ever see him/her. There is a IS200 that's always parked on GREEN LANE in ILFORD/DAGENHAM it has this one off silver / white type pearlescent paint work, who's is that ? someone ! Thanks again !
  17. Ally, Yeah, "try" and get the dealer to take responsibility, but if they don't. You will have to pay, it's DVLA new thing ... it's been all over the radio and TV dude !
  18. Possibly, do you think that as the car is still under warranty, they should fix it ..... i suppose it's not really wear and tear after all :)
  19. No, there's no noise, ... or jamming ... the window opens and closes fine, I just can't figure out why it's just not opening all the way!
  20. Hi peeps! I've had my car for six months now, and the other day I decided to actually open all four windows to let some air in rather than using the A/C ! I noticed that all my windows actually opened perfectly, but the rear drivers side window stays open by about 1", it just won't go down all the way .... very weird. Any ideas anyone ? I haven't spoken to lex yet, though it is under warranty, I don't want to take it to them, as the windows have the tint film on them, the windows weren't taken out for the tints (as far as i'm aware) so why are they not closing ? Cheers !
  21. I'd go for the original 17"s that come with the IS200's .... like mine :-)
  22. People, you should be driving your cars at 8/10's ..... allowing both 2/10's for safe driving, and to allow for the engine to run smoothly. This means you should be changing gears between 5,000 - 6,000 revs. The optimum performance an an IS200 would be 5,500 revs. Of course everyone drives differently, but that's how we were taught on our Police Response Driving Course :-) Ta !
  23. Yeah, like wise mate ... I did my 40K service just recently, and they gave my an 04 plate IS200, they got me to sign a paper, saying that "woodford lexus" (where I took the car) would be the insuring company, however I had to obviously pay some kind of excess of about £200 if I was to crash the car .... Most insurance policies accept you to drive a courtesy car, but some will charge you an admin fee to change it over for the day ! Ring them and ask first, you don't want the worst to happen, whilst driving a courtesy car !
  24. Nige, My mate had the same problem. There was power, but the car wasn't starting at all. RAC didn't have a clue what the problem was, .... he took it to Lexus, and they replaced his Ignition Main fuse. That's why the car wasn't starting! Hope that helps :-) Ahmet
