  1. Sorry I can’t provide a link but I think these came from Amazon a year or so ago , I seem to remember the brand was something like Black night. They have worked faultlessly and I’ve had a number of complements on the look and brightness.
  2. I’ve had a CPLAY2AIR unit in my car now for over a year and it’s worked faultlessly the only downside is if you use the other usb socket to play music then you will have to unplug the CPLAY2AIR.
  3. Had exactly the same problem on the drivers side tailgate strut,it lasted a day but has now disappeared.I mentioned it to Lexus and the service manager I spoke to drives the same car and said that he had also noticed the noise but like mine it only lasted a day when it was really hot, apart from that no problems in this hot weather.
  4. Just had my renewal quote from LV for my car insurance and pleased to say for myself and wife as named driver the cost for insurance and protected no claims insurance is the same as last year £227,although when you add the legal cover and hire car cover it takes it to just under £300,if anyone has tried hiring a car recently the prices have gone through the roof,we had a couple of weeks in Scotland and I reckon the prices have doubled!I know insurance quotes are never apples for apples but thought it might help some people. For reference I’m retired, car kept on drive and front/rear dashcam fitted, mileage capped at 5000.
  5. John,I agree with the other John that you need to have the UX overnight to see the headlights for yourself. My Lexus dealer was very accommodating and loaned me the car for 48 hours and I’m sure yours would do the same,as for my view on the headlights they are the best I’ve had!Let us know how you get on.
  6. John you have nailed it,perhaps you should offer your services to Lexus,I think the marketing people are missing a trick not using you!I can just see the tv advertisement filmed in black and white of course!
  7. Can’t say I have seen many in Wiltshire but the two I see frequently are driven by people around my age 65ish.
  8. Another vote for the red interior,I think it’s just that little bit different and have had many compliments on the colour,as for the exterior colour that’s a tough one but the Sonic titanium does look so good and slightly different depending on the light. Its a tough one!
  9. I can give you the answer, for some strange reason the F-sport Takumi does not have the illuminated wireless controls only the ‘normal’ Takumi version. When I got my car I looked for them and it was only after looking through the brochure I realised the illuminated controls are not marked on the F-sport variant.
  10. Lovely looking car, great choice of colour I love the khaki and cream interior and to top it all love the style pack, one of the best UXs I’ve seen! When I purchased my car I hadn’t seen the style pack but after seeing a couple now I wish I ordered it. Enjoy your new car,and yes the sport+ Does seem to sharpen everything up.
  11. ‘Horrendous” dictionary meaning terrible, extremely unpleasant. That is a very strong remark for what is a remarkable car.I’ve had my car for a nearly a year and I still look forward to getting behind the wheel,it’s such a nice place to be.I’ve owned cars as diverse in size from a Porsche Cayenne to a Smart car and the size did not make the car horrendous it’s the actual car itself. Not sure which version of the UX you drove but mine is not cramped and neither is it like a matchbox,in fact it is a very roomy comfortable place to be,it is all relative but perhaps a Hummer owner would say the same about your horrendous RX(I’m jesting with you)!
  12. Forgot to add this does include protected No Claims Discount.
  13. £227 with LV,car kept on drive,67 years old and wife named driver, this is for the F-sport Takumi variant.
  14. I’ve had my UX Fsport Takumi for 10 months and was getting 57mpg in summer and this has dropped to 47mpg in winter,of course it does depend on driving style,I would say mine is spirited.
  15. I believe the UX is only 2 years old,did you mean the NX?
  16. Can’t believe I forgot David Lindley and El Rayo X -Mercury Blues,if you’ve never heard it give it a listen,it’s a corker!
  17. Maserati GT (I ain’t got you) - The Blue Oyster Cult Radar love-Golden Earing Kiss-Detroit Rock City
  18. I agree with Mr.Vlad Highway star by Deep Purple, but got to be the live version from Made in Japan, although I do have a soft spot for Neil Youngs Long may you run, love the lyrics!
  19. Alan, Well that’s strange because in our showroom there were only two cars and one was a UX300e. Yes you are right the boot floor is lower in the ev so a bit more room for luggage. Totally agree with you it’s a great car but for me overpriced and as you say it’s a very quickly changing market,it will be interesting to see the development with the next generation of Lexus cars.
  20. John, What a jolly fine idea, how can the dealer principal refuse? Although I’m a bit aggrieved at the moment as my wife is on holiday this week and I am just about to take her out for lunch but I’ve got to pay! And yes some fine places to dine not too far away
  21. John a man after my own heart, food first! The pub was the Neeld arms in Grittleton it’s an old coaching inn and a very friendly establishment, friendly staff and good food and drink,if you are not to far away well worth a visit,it has a good selection of real ales as well.As for the food selection my wife had Brie in breadcrumbs to start followed by homemade steak and red wine pie,she said it was scrummy,I had prawns in chilli and lime with a tomato salsa followed by the steak both were very good but I did get food envy when one of the locals had the kidneys which did look rather good, unfortunately no room for pud!As for drinks my wife had two large glasses of Sauvignon blanc and myself being designated driver for the day had a ginger beer followed by coffee.
  22. Yes I did mean to write test dine,my local Lexus dealer invited us to test drive the new Lexus electric 300e and for doing this you can choose a country pub from a small selection and they will pick up the tab for a two course meal, excluding drinks! So yesterday we picked the 300e Takumi up and went for a drive, for comparison our car at the moment is a UX Takumi F-sport.The first thing you notice when you drive away is the acceleration it feels really quick much quicker than our hybrid version. We started our test drive with a small bit of motorway driving and strangely the noise level or lack of it felt exactly the same as our car,we then got on to some lovely country roads and this is where I feel the compact size and acceleration of the UX comes into its own it was really easy to hustle the car along, although we both noticed the suspension felt a bit softer and not quite as sure footed as our F-sport.On a personal level I prefer the chunkier steering wheel on the F-sport and I also prefer the F-sport seats which wrap around a bit more but this is purely personal and my wife thought the 300e seats felt exactly the same! The only other Electric car I have driven is a BMW i3 and I did not like the brake regeneration at all but I didn’t even notice it on the Lexus. To summarise,Lexus have of course made a very capable electric car,I think the problem is the hybrid version is so much cheaper ,my wife was amazed when I told her the car we were driving is nearly £10000 more than ours, although just having a trawl through Autotrader I see used cars with very little mileage have good discounts. So for a first electric car it’s a good start but what I’m really looking forward to seeing and driving is the next level NX plug in halo,I think this would really suit us as a combo of hybrid petrol for long journeys and ev for up to 40 miles.
  23. We use these rear seat protectors from Amazon or eBay they also come in black and beige if preferred and are perfect for our dog or my golf clubs, and like Daniel we also use a harness combined with seat belt adapter with a slight bungee stretch.
  24. Our CHR top of the range Dynamic. We will have to agree to disagree.
