  1. I know I've mentioned this before but you don't "own" the number. What this means is in the event of a write-off, heaven forfend, you will lose the number unless you arrange to cover it via your insurance company. 👍
  2. Didn't the majority of Palestinian people choose H over the alternative in their elections? And didn't these same people cheer in the streets on October 7th? And didn't these same people say nothing when millions upon millions of tons of aid funded building materials were diverted to construct 800 kilometres + of tunnels?
  3. Almost Bill but you're confusing your as with your us 😊
  4. Part of an article From today's daily express that makes disturbing reading; According to LV= General Insurance, the car brand that has faced the biggest increase in thefts is Lexus, with the number of reported thefts rising by 513 percent between September 2021 and 2023. Other brands that are typically targeted by thieves include Toyota, with thefts increasing by 103 percent, Hyundai, rising by 81 percent and Kia, which rose by 76 percent.
  5. Thanks Mike but didn't work for me. I have spent ages and ages getting quotes from all over but currently going through Topcashback has given me the best deal at £440. Here's the story so far - Currently Tesco 306 - new 640 Aviva 771, Sainsbury's 741, Confused 492 Hastings 505. Oh and my house insurance currently £140 via Hastings up by 41%, no claims changes etc. Tried my bank Nationwide £480 🤯Cheapest find so far £160. Thats living in a semi-rural low risk Derbyshire village hate to think about city centres 😱
  6. This may interest you ; latest DWP figures show, A staggering £64.3billion went into employee pensions in 2022. Employers contributed £38.6billion, workers added £18.3billion while tax relief on those contributions totalled £7.4 billion. So Employees not doing so bad after all 😊
  7. Numerous? How many exactly? Yes, the Maxwells of this world grab headlines but of the other 5 million+ they do right by their employees unless of course you are Arthur Scargill masquerading as Stephen? 😎😎
  8. It's only advantageous when and if you make money. People are quick to want to share in the profits but oddly enough don't wish to share if there are losses. Success has many fathers but failure is always an orphan.
  9. I salute your endurance 😎
  10. We are I think at a tipping point regarding taxation both direct and indirect. In the press last week - how it cost you £100 less to fly to Slovakia and return with a sleeve of cigarettes than to buy one here - utter madness, not that I smoke. So don't be too hard on people trying to own and run a business, there are huge "compliance" costs that no one gets to see but have to be covered somehow. I always recommend people to start up and grow a business to fully appreciate the saying - it's easier to throw a brick through a window than it is to make one. 🙂
  11. Well Pete I'm not too far from you and my renewal from Tesco has gone from £306 to £641 😱😱😱. Nothing has changed in the past year other than lower mileage than anticipated. First trawl via MSE has come back with £477. As in the old joke - what do you call 50,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? Answer; well it's a start 😎
  12. There is a saying about knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing 🤔. When you look at say St. Paul's Cathedral either it's a stunningly beautiful architectural masterpiece that brings joy to your emotions or its a cold draughty edifice that must cost a fortune to heat. As you say it's your decision 😎
  13. I i Almost a vote winner but you will spot on closer examination - XXKR 😊
  14. Fiesta - most stolen car in Britain! May have a bearing.
  15. Thanks Brian, that's close to my thoughts ie tax the Jag but use the Lexus insurance cover 🤔to drive it on the odd occasion
  16. I know this sounds obvious but has only just occurred to me. I own a Jaguar XKR coupe which I barely use and now intend to sell on. I tax and insure it every year. My other car is a RX450H which is a brilliant everyday way to get about albeit for only 4k miles a year. So, in view of impending insurance hikes would you tax just the RX? Any thoughts welcome.
  17. Reminds me years ago seeing Amira Willighagen when she was 9 singing Nessum Dorma - knocks your socks off 😱
  18. I know that things in the USA are bigger and better than anywhere else but this is ridiculous 😎 Luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors has posted massive losses while reportedly losing over $225,000 per sold car. According to the company's latest quarterly earnings release, the market has not responded well to its products. Lucid listed a $630.9 million net less for the quarter, stemming from remarkable overhead costs. The $137.8 million in revenue was dwarfed by a $469.7 million lost from "Cost of Revenue." Additionally, "R&D Operating Expenditures" cost another $230.8 million, while "SG&A Operating Expenditures" provided another $189.7 million in losses. In total, the company's "Free Cash Flow" was a whopping negative $706.1 million. These numbers are actually an upgrade from 2022, when the company lost $530 million and was in the hole for $860 million.
  19. Oddly enough a great friend sadly no longer with us sold, DICKIE a few years ago 😎
  20. Wonder if that will include the Toyota announcement of 700 mile, 10 minute charge solid state batteries? 🤔
