  1. I’m amazed how many there are in London, hybrids and IS are very popular. That said also caught a RC and of all things an Altezza today!
  2. Well...you can’t very well tell us about your pupper and not share photos! 😝
  3. Well, I can report that 24 hours in and the double sided pads are holding strong. Thanks for all the advice, especially on the recommendations!
  4. Those early kei cars are so obscure, I’m gonna have to look that car up now. edit - just looked it up, and as unbelievable at it is, someone built a N600 and set a land speed record for under 750cc cars!
  5. @Mr Vladfor me I just paste the link and it automatically turns it to a video. @PCM Kojak was a good show another one from my youth.
  6. @Grumpsthats the perfect stopgap for me, didn’t realise that would work with the suction cups. @steve2006 all of this shopping around has got me thinking. I saw there was a car reviews section. Would there be space for a reviews from real world owners who have bought the product rather than had it sent like many online sources? Maybe you’ve tried it but found that people aren’t too keen to share? I’ve definitely found a lot of help from responders in this thread, as well as elsewhere on the forums.
  7. @Johnlexhave you thought about going to Japan for parts? You might need a crash course in Japanese, but Blitz do a number of pod style filters for the 4GR engines. Price isn't bad either
  8. How did you register this colour on your V5? On a serious note, do wraps need to be registered as a colour change with DVLA?
  9. @ColinBarber Thanks, had to Google what isopropyl was, seems like the pure stuff is more volatile than the wipes I’ve been using. I’ll give anything a try!
  10. IIRC K&N filters usually can be “washed” and reoiled. Sounds great, but god it’s waaaay too much effort, I kept on putting that job off, it’s really not a pleasant job to clean 10k’s worth of filth and grime from a filter.
  11. Bowie, good shout! An evergreen choice. I wonder if they named the show after picking the theme song? Personally, it’s gonna be the Professionals, the show is awfully dated, but can’t really go wrong if you start by shooting a Cortina through a massive pane of glass.
  12. If I had known a week earlier...such a great deal. Someone is about to be very happy!
  13. Thanks for getting back, I thought as much. Something for everybody to chew over...has anybody else has noticed there are so many products out there, many of whom are selling snake oil? The past month I’ve been looking to upgrade to a dual aspect after my FIL was involved in a road rage incident where he was followed and harassed for an hour. Any of your experiences (good or bad) on what you have installed is appreciated. Also few of the owners here own the Lexus approved unit from Nextbase, and what your experiences having them installed to older vehicles? It looks like it’s designed for pretty a steep windscreen rake more common with cars of the last decade.
  14. So after a week of having my dashcam sitting perfectly, suddenly it’s won’t stay on for more than two hours. It’s the suction cup style so the usual things have been tried... - clean the suction cup and windscreen - pressing out as much air as possible - wet the suction cup (this helped and went from 15 minutes to 2 hours before falling off) I know that the outside of the window has a coating to encourage water to roll off...but is there’s something similar on the inside that is messing with adhesion. Yes, the dash cam is due for an upgrade, but in the meantime I will be thankful for any advice so that I don’t have to be pulling over every few minutes to reattach a dash cam.
  15. Thank you all for this thread. Loads of good contributions here which really opened my eye to how far car cleaning has come along in the past few years.
  16. Now thats just not cricket! Oh so close, I would expect that a fair bit of the parts were carried onto the metro Now that's a car that brings me nostalgia, common(ish) sight on the streets of Beijing during the 90s.
  17. Okay here’s an interesting one for you following in the small car vein. Bonus points for knowing what this car was derived from.
  18. Ooh difficult one...I’m guessing Honda N600? Looks like a toy I had as a child...
  19. If anybody does want to geek out, they go into detail on how these resonators work on the Engineering Explained 997 GT3 engine video on YouTube.
  20. Reminds me of the old Panther Westwinds designs by Robert Jankel...wouldn’t be surprised if that was an XJS rebody.
  21. My first car was a civic of the same generation! Lovely car, but at a teen I wished it was the VTEC one.
  22. It’s so pretty! Rear engined I’m guessing? It’s got some strong Porsche vibes at the back but it’s all Guigaro/Bertone up front.
  23. So my car was an ex-demonstrator, and I believe they also installed the car phone kit as well. This is an oddball one, since the internet has really limited information on subjects from the nascent days of mobile phones. I've found some install instructions, but they are generic guides from Nokia, with rudimentary wiring diagrams. I'm curious if anybody else has these installed and especially interested if you've removed one, and have an idea of how these things are plumbed in. For example the product diagrams show a separate speaker for phone which also cuts the audio system, but I've not actually found this speaker in the car, and there are some vague suggestions that it is possible to piggyback off the cars' existing stereo system. Much confusion here, and I would prefer not to have to remove unecessary parts potentially causing damage.
