Am I the only one slghtly confused here
  2. Fitting took myself and my flat mate about 6 hours, with the most MASSIVE HANGOVERS from hell. (and that included an hour KFC break coz we were feeling rough a s****) Insurnace went from about £400 ish to about £600 ish a year. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!
  3. dunno, i also want to know whether to go or not, espeically as earls court is literally a few miles from me!
  4. It showed the same results on the only part they tested on both cars, JP FRNT. Thats all they tested on the tezza, whereas on the IS, it was much more comprehensive. Both cars are the same bar engines and trim!
  5. The IS200 has been crash tested, and thats the same as the altezza, so you'd be wise to search for that. A link was posted to it quite recently on here.
  6. I do still want to try out another one, but this time one thats been more looked after! I like the ones around 1999-2000, with the satnav and stuff... :D
  7. It was up for £3795. I don't really have any budget in mind, as i'm currently trying to decide on what car to replace the IS200 with next year. Once I've decided on a car, i'll then decide on my budget and see whats available :)
  8. Well, after thinking about it for far too long, I finally decided to go for a test drive in an LS400. I picked the closest one to me, which happened to be at Hendon Trade Center, in.... Hendon! It was a '97 P-reg, with about 127k on the clock. I wasn't going to buy the car, especially with the scrapes on the rear bumper, and the fact that it hadn't covered any mileage in the past 4 years, and also hadn't been serviced in the past 4 years! Makes you wonder exactly what it has been doing! Anyway, the immigrant offered to let me drive, but he warned that the car wasn't taxed, and I wouldn't be insured, so I politely declined and he took me out instead. Disappointment number one. The engine noise on start-up was louder than I was expecting. I've read reports of people not knowing the car had started, and was expecting that to be honest. I'm guessing it was because it had been standing for a while, as later on in the drive after the engine had warmed up, we stopped at some lights and I struggled to hear anything resembling an engine. Disappointment number two. The handling. Everyone keeps raving on how good the handling is, and how it wafts you along better than any other executive saloon. Just felt like a big barge to me Whilst he was accelerating heavily (the car does certainly shift), the engine made some kind of tappety noise, which i'm sure shouldn't be there. Was I taken out in a bit of a dog (the no servicing for 4 years kinda highlighted that fact), or were my expectations too high?
  9. There is a cheaper way..... it's called buying a secondhand supercharger! I can't believe no-one mentioned it!! :D Secondhand they go from £1000 - £1500 on average, although you'd be lucky to get one at around the grand mark ;) Mine will be for sale at some point, but probably not this year!
  10. Hmmmm, Scaryface the ghey.......... Better be on my guard next time we meet.....
  11. I might pop along dependent on time/location :) I'm over in West London
  12. Yeah that was it. No-idea why it got deleted
  13. I was about to reply to a post asking whether it was safe to bid on an ebay auction for a carbon bonnet for the IS200, which has a 'no-reserve' on it... I then got an error saying I couldnt reply as it has been moved. Aren't we allowed to post ebay links now? Or does some moderator want to keep this auction hidden in hope of winning it for a cheap price?
  14. I love the way the yanks get so excited with their language
  15. Yep, although haven't looked at it for a while, I guess it's a go-er? Will pop my head in :) where is it?
  16. How did I miss you joining up? Russ crashes cars for a past-time
  17. Russ, Glad to see you've found a good Lexus site :D (It's Monk by the way :winky: )
  18. Hey Mike, I was a passenger in my mates Rev1 the other day, which has a CT20b fitted (or whatever the turbo is on Rev3+ ), and boy, it is some difference, keeps boost all the way to the revline! :D
  19. I'm still damn tempted to chop my IS in for an LS. I must get my ***** into gear and book a test drive! I tell you, these LS's have a lot to live up to ;)
  20. **** me sideways. I thought of a Red Hammer! Has anyone got any further information on this? Would love to know why I thought of that!
