  1. ...each to their own , but to these eyes what a shame you took a mint, low mileage classic and opted to butcher it...
  2. ...so despite the advice provided by some seasoned forum members & presumably additional interweb info' reviewed you are still considering the worst Lexus in the history of Lexus 's / Lexi?! ...bon courage my friend...I reckon you'll need it!
  3. ...so it's that time of year for me; MOT and Servicing for our 3 cars: Wifes Mercedes SLK...looks lovely built like crap, all done no real issues...Porsche 911...replaced brake fluid and bleed nipples x8 one snapped as the fixings on these are all made from chocolate and this is a garage queen...never driven in the wet! ...Is250...MOT ...perfect and my indy owner says to me what incredible condition its in...even sticks it on the ramp to show me the underside which I've not seen...serviced, no issues...check,clean and lube all brake slider pins...no issues all as smooth and clean as a pin...bloody fantastic build quality on these cars!!! ...everything just works, truly impressive...
  4. ...just returned from a few hundred miles around the Cotswolds (mixed roads) returning an average of 39 mpg which is bloody impressive for the luxurious drive and lovely V6 motor...
  5. Stone Cold Classics whom are selling the car work on a SOR basis; Wayne the owner is a lovely genuine bloke...sold an early Mercedes Sl for me a few years ago... ...bargain at £17k ...very undervalued imop
  6. ...lovely car and colour and not sure what you paid but could have purchased my 46 k miler,FLSH and ...totally issue free...hope the fixes are cheap...Take care buddy... ...so it's not folly so if anyone is thinking...check out my advert...
  7. Selling my immaculate 46000 mile Lexus is250 SEL...full lexus history and needs nothing...perfect condition and everything working, recent tyres, service, battery etc...find another in this condition...£7250 Contact me for details but genuinely lovely with no issues at all...Thanks kindly Giles.
  8. Any pink coolant will do; whatever Eurocarparts sell... Our cars aren't rare Ferraris with chocolate engines!
  9. ...the e10 fuel thing really isn't an issue: I fill up with premium and then at a little over half a tank top up with e10 to give me e5! ...works like a charm...
  10. ...had mine a year...zero issues...genuinely lovely drive...thirsty around town but the reliability and related minimal maintenance costs makes up for the thirst...wouldn't touch another marque of car at this age...just not worth the hassle... ...paid £4k...45k miles...immaculate...full lexus history...got lucky I guess...
  11. ...I'm with Linas...on a 2000's Lexus paying overs to obtain a stamp in the book is a complete waste of money...I have had so many bad experiences from main dealers and independents that I do all of my work... if you can't do your own servicing and repairs then finding a reasonably priced and reliable competent garage is a lottery...
  12. Tell me about it ...other cars are an old Porsche 911 and Mercedes slk!!! A recent engine rebuild for the Porsche was over £14k !!
  13. ...same for me; my cars need to be tip top mechanically and cosmetically...Will not live with anything not working or any worn/ damaged interior/exterior...I keep my cars like this...talk about ocd!
  14. ...it's plenty fast enough for daily driving...I have a Porsche 911 in the garage and tbh when 'on it' it's too fast for the road... ...I had a VW Golf Gti in 1988 and from memory the performance figures are identical and that was a Hot Hatch... ...unless you drive everywhere like a complete knob it's absolutely fine... ...if you want a performance car then there are plenty of other better more targeted options...
  15. Yes please...have heard about the Mincey special but have never seen one for sale...
  16. ...ditchfinder tyres suggest that the previous owner was a skimper! Agree it needs to be driven if close...I'd always try to buy privately if possible...less BS ( sports seats !!!) and better deals to be had...need to know what you are looking at mind...
  17. ...did the same; drained from the radiator 'tap'; bled system and did a few journeys and then repeated the exercise. Reckon this is sufficient to clean the coolant...
  18. ...my Porsche 911 has alcantara...can't comment on comfort or durability because it's the headling! Looks and feels nice though...
  19. Thanks kindly for the very warm welcome all...much appreciated...
  20. ...fatter,balder, greyer...but wiser. I'll take it! ...I should have got one years ago...only just got it but it's already under my skin and I'm a seriel car swapper;ask my wife...interestingly spoke with Lexus stoke today and the service principle has an is250...says alot...also says they are bullet proof! Good to know... Im not going to tell anyone how good they are...our secret...
  21. ...Thanks kindly and it's genuinely immaculate coupled with a complete lexus service record it drives as you,'d expect. The build quality is exceptional isn't it...and so smooth and quiet...I'm definitely a convert! However, the model I was always intrigued by was the LS range which are I suspect another step up build and refinement wise? Reading this forum was very helpful in knowing what to look for...very little as it turns out!
