  1. yeah, you may be right there mate... in that case, i may just get one set (4 bulbs) and then use for dipped and high beams. not bother about the fog lights perhaps... and how exactly do they get fitted. bearing in mind i really am a n00b at installing parts!
  2. you cant really break anything its a direct replacement for the oem bulb 1 pair for dipped, and if you want 1 pair for high beam and 1 pair for the fogs - i think these are tha same bulbs as the high beam ;) ← thx for the reply shahz. so correct me if I am wrong, but are you saying that I would need 3 sets of these lights? 1 for dipped, 1 for high beam and 1 for fog lights? and they are all the same bulb for each? can i just get one set for dipped or would it stupid not to have the high beam as well?
  3. sorry to dig up an old thread, but I did a search and seems a thread was already present... anyways, i am thinking about getting a set of these for myself, from this website: http://www.marketworks.com/storefrontprofi...7&c=&i=15484554 only £6.50! :D can anyone tell me, do I need only one set for the main lights, or do i need another different set for the fog lights etc? plus, how easy are they to fit. i have never modded a car at all and am a bit scared i will damage something, lol! cheers!
  4. omg, this is fairly weird. i am also 22, was also looking at the Seat initially, and was also looking at about that price range! all i can say is check out the insurance rates for an Altezza cos I couldnt get quoted for it (probs because I couldnt transfer my 4 yrs no claims :( ). I have the SE; bigger alloys, more speakers, electric sunroof etc... and i luv it! :D
  5. elephant.co.uk was best for me :)
  6. congrats mate, seems like a good deal you got there... Kensington Green cars always did go for a bit cheaper when I was looking, not my personal fav, but essentially the same car :P just watch out for the insurance when you start modding; i just cant afford to do so yet :(
  7. jesus! time to install some snipers on the roof?
  8. **** dude, bad night indeed :( is it a well known prob that the key gets stuck? i find that my key can be slightly annoying to get out when turning off the ignition, although it does come out eventually! /me starts to get paranoid
  9. well, i was told that the sidewall cracks were too big beyond repair (see piccie - although they look a lot bigger than in real life).
  10. jep, was indeedy a puncture :( bloody nail right through the middle of the tyre! :tsktsk: no way in hell of repairing apparantely either. so after i phoned around a bit i got a quote for £125 for a new dunlop tyre. phoned round a bit more and got a quote for £89.99 which included everything including fitting it. was dead pleased at that, even though i had to wait a round a bit for it to be fitted anyways, lex is back to normal! :D
  11. thx for the useful replies - im guessing i may need a new tyre which pisses me off cos I only bought the lex a couple of weeks ago (and i doubt it is covered under the warranty). worth a try to see if i can get it repaired though :)
  12. recently got back from a fairly long journey in the lex, and found that the front tyre on the drivers side was incredibly low. when i checked it out at a petrol station, it was on 10PSI, the norm being 33PSI roughly. the other tyres were fine however. im guessing this is a slow puncture or something as I pumped it up, and it is going slowly down. however, marks on the tyre slighly worried me as if it the tyres were split or something: i suppose i can take these to a garage and they can fix it although i am pretty clueless about the whole situtation as it has never happened to me before. can anyone help?
  13. yeah mate, i have a grey one and it works super! so far i have had no probs with chips marks etc but then i have only had it for 2 weeks :)
  14. @cheeky> jep, checked the gloovebox, no probs there. If you have your service before mine, could you let me know if they find anything? @fluff34567> both are working fine :) @alteza222> yeah, mate sounds like similar problem there. :(
  15. i keep on hearing clicking noises every now and then which appear as though they come from the dash board area, more nearer the passenger side than the driver. are these normal? they arent particularly loud but are getting slightly annoying now can anything be done about them? should i be expressing any real concern over them?
  16. ok mate, i will look into it, thx :) b'jeebers, i didnt see the 'Inside & Out' section of this board!
  17. my dealer is a bit far from me, halfords is closer so I may look into that autoglym ;) and what about for the alloys? same thing?
  18. thx for the help guys, but i still think that is a bit pricey for me atm! i wanna just get something in the £10-£20 bracket until I get some decent money. also, how often do you clean it?
  19. i found elephant.co.uk to be the cheapest for me, and I searched round for quite some time. i am also 22 mate, so I know the feeling about insurance on these babies... :( i own a is200 SE after an upgrade from a pug 306 and i certainly aint regretting it! :D
  20. could anyone help me recommend some products to wash and polish my Lex IS200 SE in graphite grey? i am not looking for vastly expensive stuff but something reasonable that I can pick up in a shop such as Halfords, but does the job fine. and what about cleaning inside the car? any recommendations for that? any help is appreciated :)
  21. congrats mate! :D i also just bought my second hand lex is200 SE (in graphite grey) for £10700 and got it this week. it is also a Y reg but only 40k on the clock and in absolutely mint condition with full lexus service history. i also got the wheel replaced and a years warranty chucked in for free i love it to bits too although insurance for me is a shocker!
  22. the reason i bought my lex was becuase somebody puked in the back of the pug 306 :/
  23. wow, thx for the advise chaps, i might consider one of these as well! :D btw, is it easy to attach one of these tomtom gos onto the dash of the is where the sat nav would normally go? and can i use with with my hands free phone?
  24. ok, i went to see the car. happened to be in fact a dealer sale and not a private sale like i thought... for the specs please see my first post in this thread. in fact, it was the first time I have driven an IS200 and I have to say I loved every bit of it! i said to myself to keep calm and act cool whilst the salesman was around, but when i drove it, i started overly-smiling like a little school girl! Really nice feel to clutch and gear change, and is just a tad faster than my current peugoet diesel :P the car was in mint condition, a couple of scratches on the paintwork but other than that pretty spotless. seemed to drive well, no sign of dodgy gear changes or anything. although i did notice that the area around the brake disc looked a bit rusty, although he said this was 'natural' and he would sort it out if i were to buy it. one thing that i did find strange is that on the vehicle reg document, and on the HPI check, it said the car was a silver colour when in fact it was graphite grey. when taking this up with the salesman, he gave me an exuse which I cant remember now. although, the rest of the HPI check seemed fine. should i be worrying about this? anyways, he didnt seem that he wanted to go low on price negotiations. after asking how low can he go nearest £10k, he said that he can do it for £10750 with free 1 yr warranty. MOT is until June next year. he dismissed any other offers lower than this. he reckoned he had someone looking round it this friday (and was very interested) but i couldnt tell whether he was bull****ting or not! what should my next move be do you think? ideally, i would like to get more than £250 of the list price, or do you think that i am pushing it?
