  1. Well done, I have the facelift LS 600hL premier with bigger grill, amazing machine! look forward to exchanging notes
  2. GS 460 is 8 speed, same as LS 460 which was actually world’s first 8! LS600 is ecvt but amazingly smooth and perfectly suited to the car due to 5.0 V8. A very worthwhile change from GS to LS I would recommend it provided you don’t mind the extra size of the beast
  3. Hi Neil Amazing to find another GS460 owner here. I previously owned a 2009 model velvet black with ivory, the penultimate one sold in the UK! In fact I only saw one other, a silver with black one in a Lexus showroom, never one on the road which made owning it so special. A great car with the LS 8 speed auto, super quick and nimble, sport suspension, radar cruise etc, more sporty than my previous GS430s so engine not quite as refined due to different tuning. I still miss this car, now have LS600hl Premier, the beast.
  4. I have the LS600hl premier update model. Super rare car with amazing build and special feeling of driving the Lex flagship model. cvt is great (so is 8 speed on 470), mpg not much in it against 460 but much lower rfl, yes boot small but perfectly acceptable (use our CT with folded seats if required) and can always use enormous rear cabin to stand up suitcases if required! go for it you will live the 600! As others have said the good ones sell so quickly.
  5. Will have to figure out how to read the Telegraph article.., On ES really interesting to note Nico’s comment as I too was close to buying the Takumi as Fsport touch too firm. ES drives really well, both Takumi and Fsport, super smooth, quiet and comfortable as a Lexus should be. Also rides better than GS, hybrid is smoother as new gen tech etc. But I was just not happy with the interior although I admit being fussy and was frankly spoilt by the GS4 interior quality, easily best in class. Put that to one side and if you crave comfort then ES is a great alternative to the usual German suspects. I was even surprised by how well the Fsport drove.
  6. I agree with Colin, fsports are definitely more firm whereas other models are softer so you takes your pick….
  7. Hi Nico Many thanks for your comments. I had 4 GSs is a row including the 460, really unique car. When GS was dropped I looked at ES but was quite disappointed with the plasticky interior quality which is way below the GS. The ES is very comfortable and smooth and would be an excellent buy for anyone not previously used to GS quality. I ended up going for a used LS600hL which is just amazing…
  8. Hi there the GS is definitely more comfortable than IS with a better ride and also has a lovely interior, best in class in my view. The GS F sport is firmer both in ride and steering feel. If you want comfort then I would go for GS luxury or premier spec and use sport mode which tightens up steering feel when required, otherwise leave in normal mode and enjoy comfort. The F sport has a permanently heavy sporty steering and firmer ride on 19 inch alloys so be sure to properly test. I had GS luxury model from new for 6 years, brilliant car with no issues at all. Good luck!
  9. Hello LOC! just new here after being a long-standing owner over many years and keenly following forums in that time. brief Lex history: 1. GS 430 V8 2. GS 430 V8 again 3. GS 460 V8 (the special one!) 4. GS 300h 5. LS600hL Premier (the king) Others in the family including CT 200h & IS 300h look forward to exchanging notes with colleagues here!
  10. Excellent little car, very well built, super comfortable seats and refinement, cheap to run. Definitely go for post 14 facelift model for better ride which is still sporty and feels well connected with the road, in slight contrast to my LS600!
  11. CT a great car, averaging around 46mpg but can easily be higher depending on conditions. Main point to note is it has a 2 gallon reserve tank after range shows 0 so that is about 90-100 miles. You can comfortably refill at around 425m and still have some left in reserve tank. Just don't panic as trip will say 0 range!
  12. The LS is a great car. I have the facelift LS600hL referred to by Graham, really unique and rare car, only seen one other on the road! Really stands out in the sea of S, 7 & A8s and amazing build quality. I bought LS after having 4 GSs, did not fancy new ES as plasticky interior quality not a patch on GS so went for approved used LS instead, still smiling! Graham - would be really interested to have your comments on 600 v 500 in terms of drive, feel, ride, comfort, refinement etc.
