  1. How come a 60k service is due if your cars only done 46k and only 4 years old? Am I missing something here??
  2. Over 10,000 miles, a 350 mile difference is nothing . So its only 3.5% out which is nothing really. Sat Nav will calculate the 'true' mileage covered so the speedo will be approx 3.5% out which is about normal.
  3. Seems a bit strange that the diesel is cheaper than the petrol version????? Usually the other way round.
  4. Right, Im going to see an IS300 next weekend if its still for sale. If its in as good condition as mine, i think ill end up going for it. Another quick question though. Are the service costs the same for the 200 and 300? Cheers. :winky:
  5. Thanks for the replies. Think I need to test drive one really. I'll probably go for one in the next couple of months I reckon. I always thought that the 300 came in SE or sport. Cheers.
  6. Im considering selling my IS200 Sport and buying an IS300. Getting a bit fed up with the perfomance of the 200 and want something a bit more powerful. I like everything about my 200 apart from the lack of power on overtaking and hills etc and the clutch/gearbox. For these reasons, Im starting to think the IS300 would be an ideal replacement having about 55 bhp more and an Automatic gearbox. Ive seen a few IS300's the same reg as mine, but slightly older and with more miles and 2 dealers have offered me similar deals, being £2000 and my car. My car has 40k and the IS300's have about 80k. So the question is, is it worth £2000 to have the extra features of the 300 but have to compromise on one with higher mileage. Both dealers (not lexus dealers) have offered me around £10,000 for mine (2002, IS200 sport, 40k), and theirs are up at £12000. Would you say this is a good price for mine? Any thoughts on this appreciated, Cheers.
  7. This is new to me too!!! Mine are nearly 20"!!!!
  8. I paid £260 for my 40k service at Sheffield including gold discount.
  9. It says North London. Unless its just been edited???? This thread doesnt sound good. I, for one, never phone dealers and check if the stamps are genuine.
  10. Youve got to consider that the IS200 is a fairly low powered saloon which is quite heavy. The engine therefore has to work harder. As said, for this reason, I would say an IS300 should be very similar MPG, or maybe better than the IS200, as ive heard a few owners comment on this.
  11. So is the chrome finisher standard on all sports then? Mine never came with one when i bought it.
  12. No mate, I havnt had time to attempt it yet. Might give it a go this weekend though.
  13. As well as the amount of fuel, thers other factors to consider. Tyre pressures being a major factor, as well as wear on springs/shocks, mileage of the car etc. We could go on forever!! Anyway, Ive just been out and done mine and Im a bit worried now!!! 2002 IS200 Sport, 8 x 18, 225/40/18's, 40 offset, 1/4 tank of fuel, standard height. O/S/F = 362mm N/S/F = 360mm N/S/R = 372mm O/S/R = 382mm (?!?!) I must have a problem somewhere then!! Going to check all tyre pressures now and go for a drive and re-measure!!! Wish i'd never seen this threar now.
  14. I was thinking about doing exactly the same with mine. Local trimmers quoted me around £250. ← Thats well cheap, i would go for that if they are chargin that little!!! ← I think I might go for this in the next month or so then. I suppose £250 is cheap come to think of it. Might go round in the week and try and see if I can get it a tad cheaper!
  15. I was thinking about doing exactly the same with mine. Local trimmers quoted me around £250.
  16. Yes all the wiring for the buttons and everything is there. Thanks for the link Mr Singh, and thanks for the offer Steve. Think ill try and attempt it myself though. Cheers guys.
  17. Sorry, should of made it clearer. Ive fitted my TomTom Go into a Lexus sat nav housing with motor. Im going to feed the charger cable through into the glove box so I can just plug it in to charge the unit. Im now in the process of trying to wire the motor up so it can tilt and open and close when the keys are taken out the ignition like the OEM sat nav. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  18. In the process of trying to wire up my motorised sat nav unit, but havnt got a clue where to start. I want to use the open/close and tilt buttons and would like it to fold away when I take the keys out of the ignition. Anyone help me with this please? Im sure someone gave me a link explaining how it can be done, but cant seem to find it now. Cheers.
  19. I was looking into this a while ago and was told that I wouldnt be able to use the existing lexus amp, so i never bothered. I think there is a way around it, but it involves quite a bit of work to sort the wiring.
  20. Anyone help me on this one please? Cheers. :winky:
  21. Only just noticed the other day that my passenger seat in my sport seems to have quite a bit more adjustment than the drivers side. It seems to go alot higher on both the front and rear of the seat base???? Ive only noticed since I was the passenger in my car and was much higher up. I now feel really low in the drivers seat even at the highest position. Its bugging me now! Is this normal or do I have a problem somewhere? Thanks in advance.
  22. Had mine done at Tint-R too. Excellent job and only £60 for the fronts to match the rears. I think its around £180 for the whole lot tinted to either light, medium, dark or limo. Think mine are medium, not sure though, could be light.
  23. Thanks for that. I forgot to ask what it includes to be honest. If it says it in the schedule, then I suppose it will be done then. I also mentioned that my stereo has been playing up lately, and they said they'll have a replacement ready for me!! :D
  24. Yeah theres the discount to come off that price too, so will be around the £300 mark.
  25. Booked my car in for the 40k service today at Lexus Sheffield. Ive noticed in the service schedule that the brake fluid and coolant should be changed. Will this be included in the £355 they quoted me, or will it be extra for these??? Cheers.
