  1. Oops, sorry, should of explained. Yep, its a speed camera detector. Had it for years now, excellent device.
  2. Welcome to the club, nice car. Same as mine, but mines in blue :)
  3. I was going to suggest that too! Do it mate - as simple as it sounds it actually looks a lot more pleasing! You wouldn't put the display up by your rear view mirror? Keeps it well out of sight there. (I had to make a little bracket for mine. Not too difficult really - I made it from a plastic toy.) Umm.. interesting.. U haven't got a picture of it have you? Would like to see how it looks.
  4. Thanks for the tip, next thing on my list. :-)
  5. Got around to fitting my Origin B2 today. Manage to do the hard bit and hard wire the unit and hide all the cables. I thought the easy bit was to find somewhere to put the unit, but I struggled for quite a while to find a suitable place. I ended up putting it where the ashtray would be. I was going to put it upright just behind the cigarette lighter, however, I couldn't seem to find a decent way to hold the unit in place as the surface is not flat. I'm not too sure about keeping there as I would prefer to keep the ashtray, however the unit is not fixed and I can remove the unit and store it away if need be. It's currently just resting on the edges and although it's quite secure, I prefer to secure it down properly. I'm not to bothered about the orientation of the unit as I usually just rely on the beeps and voice. Anybody else has a B2? Where did you install the unit?
  6. Like the one on the left. Is this gear knob specific to lexus? think I found it on ebay but looks slightly different, think its because the one on ebay its a close up pic.
  7. I had Peugeot 206 (Yes, I was on drugs) Civic Type R W reg Lexus IS 200 Sport Seat Cupra R BMW 330ci Sport and now 02 reg Lexus IS 200 Sport So going by I had two lexus then I would say that this is the best car I've owned. :-) Smooth, quiet and looks stunning with the styling kit. But I do think the Civic and Cupra are different cars to the lexus and they give something totally different (Power and torque), a bit hard to compare.
  8. Thanks guys, glad to be back. Just need to get myself to WIM.. and get the dreaded 60k service :(
  9. Cheers, still need to get use to driving a lexus again. Had a BMW 330ci Sport and that had much more torque. Totally different from this car.
  10. here some pics taken with my phone, so not great qaulity. Had to remove tree sap.. my god what a job!!
  11. Great, anybody know if their tyres a competitively priced? I need to do some research in the tyres to use, anybody want to recommend a particular brand? :-)
  12. Hi, just bought my new IS200 sport (my 2nd one) and experiencing very poor handling, on uneven roads, its like its just following the camber and I'll have to hold the steering wheel with a bit of force to keep the car straight. Anyway, tyres on one side seem to be more worn than others and there is a very very slight judder on breaking, so I assume disk are warped. Wondering if going up to WIM will sort out the bad handling? How much does it cost? I've been to some other wheel alignment places around london and to be honest, I don't feel that much of a difference afterwards. Do WIM do tyres aswell? As I need 4 of them. My old lexus handling was very good... but I'm on 18's now... but i was hoping I get the same sort of handling and driving pleasure as my old one. I'll post pics up after I wash her... :-)
  13. Yes, I'm BACK!! Been looking for a while, and decided to get another lexus, this time in Blue and with the styling kit, i.e. TTE bumper and 18" alloys. Picking it up tomorrow. It was a bit dirty, but interior was v. clean.. gonna give it a good wash and polish and I'll be happy. Needs a service and 4 new tyres, but I think I got it for a good price. Can't wait!! 1st thing I'll be doing is to look into changing the stereo.. and hooking up my origin B2. :-) Man, the car looks sooo nice. :-) :-) Sorry if wrong section.. maybe this should be in general discussions.
  14. Im gutted, but hey... Chelsea derserved it.
  15. Big LIVERPOOL fan... So i guess i want Liverpool to win :) But seriously depends which team turns up!! Usually the good team turns up for the big games, and cardiff is the 2nd home for Liverpool, so looking good so far!!
  16. I got some PIAA bulbs in mine, extreme white, although they look very nice, they dont really light up the road. Have I got dodgy bulbs, or something wrong with my headlights? I keep hearing good things about PIAA, but haven't really shown me much yet.
  17. Hi Very interested in these alloys... i think these are also know as Lexus Grand Prix alloys. Chris.s has these on his car.. Any one know where I can get these and how much?
  18. When the battery went flat and i eventually started it, i drove it from Croydon to brighton, and didnt have a problem. What confuses me, if it went flat, i thought it would stay flat until i charged it up? Y would it suddenly start up?
  19. They do now... not sure about at the time when the master key didnt work.
  20. Two issues here really, or it could be just one.... First of all, I think my battery is near the end of its life, however, the meter on the dash reads about 9 or 10v coming from the batt. Does this mean the battery is ok? Anyway, i was adjusting my lights the other day, and left the dipped lights on for about 20mins. when trying to start the car it was just completed flat. However, after a few times in trying it started, and has been ok, until this evening when it seemed it had a hard time starting, but it still started. Before all this I tried unlocking my car in the usual manner via the remote and it wouldnt open!! tried over and over and it still wouldnt open, until i put the key in the lock and press the unlock key from there. However, i still couldnt lock it. Drove off, and when i reached my desitination it still wouldnt lock. Locked it manually, came back to the car and then tried to open the car again, no luck. Again, only unlocked when the key was actually in the lock and I pressed the unlock button. However, once i got home, the remote was fine, locked and unlocked. The questions is, when a battery is flat to the state when it just ticks over once, should I not be able to start the car, no matter how many times i tried? and, if the battery is nearly flat does it have an effect on the remote locking? NOte, I can still start the car, so battery still has some life i guess. I have seen the car about loosing memory on the keys, but it currently does work, can it suddenly regain its memory? Also, the car was at two different places with the same problem, so i guess i can rule out interference. Sorry for long post.
  21. I have had 2 parrot car kits in the past, the original one (CK3000), and then the one with the new dispalay unit and gps (CK3300). I think the kit is brilliant (IMO). I had it in my old car, Civic Type R where the head unit is a tad but easier to change, more or less a straight swap. If u have an alpine unit, u wouldnt need any adapters for the sound to come out of the car speakers, if you have other units, i believe u need a mute cable/adpater. I had a Sony Ericsson phone and the numbers sync with the unit and so all the numbers and names store on the parrot kit. U can then record the voice tags on the parrot kit aswell. However, when i changed my phone to a Nokia, I couldn't do that and the voice tags had to remain on the phone, thus limiting the number of tags to the phone limit, 10 in nokia's case. If you have the tags on the Parrot kit, when the person phones you, the tag is played over the speakers, so you know who is calling you. The downside to the parrot kit, and I guess to any similar kit, is the qaulity of the call for person on the other end. If you have a noisey car, or you place the mic where there seem to be vibration, then the quality of the call is not that good, if you're driving normally, then its ok. They recommend placing the mic under the rear view mirror, I assume you have minimal vibration there. I sold my kit when I bought the lexus, as i didnt think i will go and buy an after market unit. This car is obviously much more quiet than the CTR, so it would be good to see how its like. Overall the unit was brilliant and its very good to be able to make a call or recieve a call with a touch of a button. With magic word, you can make a call without touching a button, just say "Telephone", The Name and it will dial it... brilliant!! As said, the only down side is the quality of the call when you drive faster, i.e. Motorway speed. Umm.. this has turned into a mini review.. hope it helps anyway.
  22. Cheers... Any pics of these, or can I assume any car in the Garage which says TRD Skirts is the Japan version? Thanks
  23. I'm a bit confused... Lexus Side skirts, are they TTE ones? Any difference between TRD ones are TTE/Lexus ones. I'm sure someone told me that you can't get TTE ones anymore, or is the Lexus ones just a copy of the TTE ones. Anyone got a picture of TTE/Lexus skirts.
  24. Normal headlights (not full beam) ← Sorted, spent 10mins - 15mins turning that cog.... much better... got PIAA ones, but to be honest, they look nice, but dnt light up the road very well. still be going to HK sooon, so will get some much better headlights. May even consider Prolex's HIDs. :)
  25. Thanks... when you say "dip them" what exactly do you mean? Sorry, im being very thick today. :duh:
