My New UX250H Sport Design
Tickedon replied to Lexnew's topic in Lexus UX200, UX250, UX250h, UX300e Club
Not sure if you were talking about F Sport trim specifically, but in terms of the UX.. Lexus have sold approx 23k UX (hybrid & Ev) vs 34k CTs, 89k IS, 41k NX, and 61k RX in the UK. Some of those will have been scrapped by now, but, I suspect perspective may be skewed slightly in terms of what you’re noticing on the road! The UX (hybrid & EV combined) was (just) the best selling Lexus in the UK in 2021, 2022 and 2023 - around 1 in 3 Lexus cars sold those years. However, it was only just the best selling model - the new generation NX (hybrid & plugin) was only a couple of hundred units behind the UX in each of 2022 & 2023 -

Spacesaver spare wheel for LBX
Tickedon replied to P M R's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
I assume it’s for all these bits… “Raise the floor, all new panels. wheel and tyre, jack, wheel brace, wheel nut spanner, spare wheel bolt.” someone in the parts department was taking the p*ss. -

Never had these on my Audi or Volvo. Not something I consider as being necessary.- 15 replies

The government has already announced that EVs will start paying car tax (existing and new) from April 2025. New EVs from April 2025 will also (again) pay the luxury car tax if list price is over £40k. We can therefore expect nearly every new EV to be paying north of £600 per year in VED, and more as this increases yearly by inflation.

Remember that there are different special order seat options on the price list… perhaps possible to have the grade you want with seating trim you are happy with! -
It’s not just one group. The technology is hidden inside a Bluetooth speaker, costing £2-4k. Great ROI so both devices and vulnerable cars are in high demand….

Pop your reg and mileage into webuyanycar to get an idea of value. You may get a bit more if you’re lucky. Dealers often send these out if they want specific cars. real question is what would you change into, and why, and at what cost?

2024 Vehicle tax NX350h
Tickedon replied to Andyml's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
No, you pay the current rate. The VED “scheme” you’re on is (broadly) “locked” based on year of registration (e.g. the last change was April 2017, so cars before then pay a different set of figures and rates to cars after April 1st 2017]. But the rates in that scheme increase by inflation each year, so I’m afraid we can all look forward to higher prices, both for the standard car tax rate and also the luxury element. They are also removing the £10 discount for hybrid vehicles. -
2024 Vehicle tax NX350h
Tickedon replied to Andyml's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
The luxury car tax element is for years 2 to 6. So you don’t pay it in the first year, but do for the following 5 years. VED typically increases by inflation each year, including the luxury element. -
RCF CANBUS theft possible?
Tickedon replied to MNMJ's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
The RC-F is sadly on the list of vulnerable models: https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-uk-statement-on-vehicle-theft/ this follows BBC one show & watchdog looking at the issue last night. -

Although in January, it looks like UXe and RZ were 24.5% of their sales… https://media.lexus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/pdf/Lexus-UK-Sales-Figures-January-2024.pdf whether they can keep that up, we’ll need to see! -

There is also a complicated way, in the first couple of years of these mandatory ZEV rules, to earn credits based on your average co2 emissions being lower than a few years ago. Lexus are in a good position for this as PHEVs will help bring that average Lexus emissions figure for sales down significantly (as PHEV is generally 25-30g/km) - and those PHEV are approx 50% of new NX and RX sales. The UK market had approx 16.5% of BEV sales last year. Lexus aren’t alone in this issue, but yes, don’t have great EV model options. -
Lexus canbus theft issue featured on one show and watchdog, resulting in a statement from Lexus and promise of a security upgrade… along with confirmation of models affected (including ES)

Lexus have published a statement and for the first time detailed models at risk… https://mag.lexus.co.uk/lexus-uk-statement-on-vehicle-theft/? On the plus side, it sounds like they have something planned beyond the protection plate for the previous RX generation. -

2023 was a record for Lexus in the UK with 15,963 cars sold. I believe they also had a global sales record too. Toyota cars are also affected by theft issues, albeit less desirable, so you’d hope/think they have the UK (nevermind global) volume to justify a proper fix. -

Tickedon replied to Rob62's topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h Club
Yes. The 5th generation RX has a signed/encrypted communication for the key and start. It’s called “Toyota Security Key” and all their newly updated/introduced models have a version of this, which means they aren’t vulnerable to the issue with the 4th gen RX, older NX, and current ES models (amongst others!). Jaguar Land Rover managed it on older models going back to 2016 that had similar flaws. Experts have also said encryption for the key elects here (doors /engine start) wouldn’t add significant overhead. Toyota are the world’s largest car manufacturer - they absolutely could fix this if they chose to. -
Educating your children is mandated by law. Owning a car is not, and therefore insurance isn’t mandatory and shouldn’t be state provided. The problem is we’ve been too generous bailing out those making unwise life choices (e.g. those on benefits see a financial increase if they have more kids, courtesy of other taxpayers; whereas those earning & paying their way typically see a big decrease in their household finances if they have more children) that it’s now become expected that the government will solve all problems. Any sense of personal responsibility is sadly gone. I fear too many people aren’t aware of how bad nationalised companies were. I suspect we all may have a refresher course in the next few years.

Indeed, though thankfully the price list shows special build options where you can add real leather to the Premium Plus trim!
