  1. I do find with the RX that despite all the cameras and colourful lines parking is still tricky due to its length. There’s a surprising amount of space used at the front end of the car which makes parking in multi story parking spaces interesting. Earlier this week I reversed into a space until the braking warning stopped the car and was told by my wife that the nose was sticking out by about 3 feet (I assumed she meant the car not me!). It was due to the concrete supporting pillars so I moved to a more open part of the car park and just managed to get parked with a minor overhang of the marked space at the front. Best wishes for enjoying your new RX, I look forward to seeing your future posts
  2. Welcome to the RX side of LOC. Which trim level have you opted for?
  3. For those interested Car magazine has just started a long term test of the RX450h+ in Premium Plus trim.
  4. According to the online brochure the NX 350h has a 10 speaker Pioneer Audio System.
  5. I would recommend seeing or speaking with your dealer. However if you are confident and want to get into the boot the manual has this advice.
  6. Before we decided on the RX we tried an NX F sport with the standard stereo and was appalled by the tinny sound quality. We then tried a Takumi with the ML system and thought it much better. However on returning to the F sport and delving into the settings we found that the balance of the speakers was completely to the front and that the bass was set low. Once corrected it was difficult to discern a noticeable difference between the two. So in essence I agree with Eggie, have a back to back sit in some demo cars and play around with the settings as it does make a significant difference to the sound.
  7. Hi Tom, yes I get a very similar experience going along a country lane that is signed at national speed limit (60mph) but the car shows a 40mph limit. It always changes to 60 mph at exactly the same place along the road despite there not being any signage present. The RSA is reputedly using the front camera to indicate the applicable speed limit, however when coming back along this road the speed limit displayed changes from 60mph to 40mph with no signage present.
  8. I agree that parking spaces are too tight for modern cars. I’ve found the length of the car to be a bit of a challenge when parking despite all the aids (but that’s probably my poor spatial awareness 😉) The NX that we tested was definitely easier to manoeuvre but we needed more in car space etc. I guess it’s just the trade off you need to decide upon.
  9. I did the update for the RX on Wednesday and my trip history is being recorded correctly in LL+. My update was purely for the Navigation software, whereas I’ve seen some others have had updates to vehicle systems.
  10. Hi Ken, According to the in car system I’m getting 2.6 m/kWh and a combined mpg of approximately 68. I’ve tried to strip out the EV equivalent miles and calculate a pure ICE mpg that came to approximately 38. This is averaged over 4300 miles starting last July. I’ll be interested to hear from others of their experience.
  11. I’m sorry to say that you have to disable it each time you start the car. The good news is that after a while it becomes muscle memory. 😁
  12. Mine was a rather shocking £945 for social only, no points and grey hair! I tried shopping around but this was the best deal that allowed European holidays.
  13. Hi, I’m driving the same engine set up in my RX and experience similar misleading range figures. I believe that the overall range is being calculated based upon the in-car calculation of mpg (mine is currently showing approximately 66mpg). This is obviously being distorted by all the occasions where I’m driving purely on EV. Therefore I have seen an overall range in excess of 700 miles, only to see it falling rapidly as we travel on a long journey. The EV range versus real travelled miles I use as a very broad estimate as there’s so many factors that impact the actual outcome. So in summary I tend to ignore the EV range indicator but always refill the petrol when I see 2-3 bars remaining on the graphic. I would like a more accurate range assessment to be displayed, and coming from a background of finance and IT, wouldn’t have thought it was too difficult for Lexus to provide given the car has a mass of data being collected. My ICE also runs during times when I’ve selected EV and still have available range, but having looked through the manual I can see that there are a number of different scenarios that would cause this to happen. Hope you enjoy your car..
  14. Excuse me crossing over from the RX forum, but with the same engine I have experienced the same circumstances of there being sufficient EV mileage remaining but the ICE cutting in. I’ve assumed that this is due to the non-drive battery requiring some charge via the alternator. I’ve seen in the manual that this may happen, so I think it’s okay
  15. As I was considering my purchase I became aware of the current round of theft stories on Autocar. I then searched the internet and headed to the RX forum. Having previously owned a Land Rover I was very familiar with searching the forums for advice on fixes and recommendations…..😁
  16. Hi again, I saw a possible answer by Lisa regarding her UX, QUOTE: Thank you so much everyone. I think it’s resolved now, I took to dealers and spent some time with the garage technician. Deleted Lexus plus off phone and deleted everything off car. Set up Lexus plus app with a simple password as others have mentioned only using @ as the symbol, no dashes £ signs etc just @ and I have used a capital letter too, then he reset the car. When connecting he did choose Apple play for me and also added Lexus in Bluetooth. All going well past few days. He even set driver door to only open when I press unlock on key once (twice for rest of doors) as I didn’t want all 4 doors opening each time when I’m on my own and was unlocking. No idea how that’s done but I’m happy with that. One of the ongoing issues which they’re aware of is that if Lexus makes an announcement whilst you’re using apple play like a traffic announcement you can’t hear her voice even though it’s set to loud in the Lexus app. Hope everyone else gets these issues resolved ❤️
  17. Hi, A few thoughts that may help… If you previously had that old Lexus Link app makes sure it is not still installed; my dealer recommended removing it when I moved to LL+. Next try uninstalling and reinstalling the LL+ App; it’s been known to work. Finally you may need to ensure that you have agreed to all the various permissions granting Lexus access to your data… I have a YouTube video from the dealer showing how to connect that I’ll try to add, but I think it’s what you’re doing already. Good luck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga_mY9adOcg
  18. You’re welcome. Having worked in a fleet management business I quickly became made aware of the RTFM acronym. 😀 Then again my RX manual weighs in at a hefty 800 pages, so it always takes a while to find things….
  19. Hi, I can confirm that the message should automatically disappear after about one week. I’ve found the section in the manual… (I do like a hard copy manual; strangely easier to navigate than the online version). My week expires tonight so I’m hopeful it will be gone soon.
  20. Oh, because I enjoy the challenge 😀. In reality I am doing very short 1-2 mile journeys where the heater doesn’t warm the car, therefore I use the heated steering wheel and seats for such trips.
  21. I do drive in Eco mode with the heating off which doesn’t always please my passenger….😏
  22. Hi, I’ve seen 46 with the heating off but heated steering wheel on. But the reality is always a little lower.
  23. Feedback following my visit to the dealership is that this is the first report of the wiper issue but that they will monitor for other occurrences. The car has had a software update so I’ll see if the issue still remains.
  24. Hi, I had the same issue with my car. The resolution was to uninstall the Lexus Link app and install the new Lexus Link + app. Apparently the older app is not supported. Hope this helps.
  25. Thanks for doing this review. Like you I’ve noticed that the intermittent wipers fall asleep and need the switch off, switch on routine. I’m also due a dealer visit this week so will ask them about it too.
