  1. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I thought these tyre products were there to prevent premature ageing and cracking of the tyre wall ? ← Well i read it out of one of their leaflets.....i can say no more :winky: ← You learn something new every day.

  3. I use the Meguiar's "Hot tyre shine" (it's called something like that!). Spray it onto a sponge like applicator instead of straight onto the tyres - it lasts longer + it spreads more evenly. It costs £7.99, but is the best I've used so far. I have used the Meguiar's tyre gel, but it can be hard work and quite messy - and if you leave some residue on the tyre that hasn't settled in, you could find it on your paintwork after a drive. Hope this helps.
  4. Wow. At least you got somewhere with Lexus. They refused to do anything with mine as they were out of the 3yr warranty (by two months). That doesn't sound too bad. Do you get a new warranty on the wheels as Lexus have sorted them ? When you do get them done, give em a good inspection before driving off, ie. check the seal around the rims more than anything. Best of luck. :)
  5. First time I've heard of it. I'm a Meguiar's man to be true - haven't found anything else that comes close. B)
  6. Are you gonna take em up on it ? I ain't sure if I like the look of the new IS . But I guess I was like that when our IS first came out .
  7. Oi Fidgits, are you just winding us up or what ???
  8. I don't know about the corrosion becoming a powder, but I do know that I've had similar probs on my 51 plate. Has it bubbled where it has become white, as this is what happened to mine ? I was told that it was water which got underneath the lacquer and created the white bubbling effect (corrosion). Maybe the powder is where yours has bubbled, and then burst ?? I got mine refurbished a couple of months ago - had a metallic silver paint put on instead of the norm. They shine up nice in the sun. I rang Lexus and told them I had a couple of "small" questions to ask the wheel refurbishing guy, as I had my wheels refurbished and just wanted to find out about looking after them (which is a lie cos I ain't had the wheels done yet), and asked them if I could have his number - which they then gave me. I then rang the man's mobile and he quoted me £20 less than Lexus did. :D
  9. Hehehahaha, i'm only 22, i'm still a child methinks. Shall we start with my childhood from this morning? :P ← Thanks, I was 36 Yesterday !! Bloody youth of today... :D
  10. So let's start the session with you telling me about your childhood...
  11. Bugger !! I didn't think anyone was gonna follow on from Mancunians :shutit:
  12. Know what you mean bud. But that's the British sense of humour.
  13. Benolyn, what a relief for everyone.
  14. They look like something you nicked from your local swimming baths, and took the key off
  15. That question sounds like it's off Blind Date....which one would you pick and why, and that question goes to you number 1. :P I don't know which one I would pick. I think there is a good reason why you should buy every one. I suppose if you can afford a Lexus, you SHOULD buy every one!!
  16. Weren't they for racism on football. I think there were people like Thiery Henry doing adverts for them to prevent racism with all the d-heads chanting monkey sounds when black people got the ball. Didn't it start with a game between England and Spain ? The Spanish were chanting when our black players got the ball as far as I remember.
  17. This is another reason why I wouldn't really want to put my car into a place where they spray the whole panel on the doors, and not "touch" in the spots instead. I wouldn't want the car to come back with the doors being a slightly different shade to the rest of the car. I think for paint chips I'd prefer to have a go myself first. I used to have a black car and that was REALLY easy to touch-in, but for some reason this Platinum Ice colour is too "different" in different lights if you know what I mean.
  18. ...especially when it's people like Harry Enfield !
  19. I was given this advice by a professional car bodywork refurbishing place. But I'm a bit reluctant in using wet and dry - I suppose it's because I don't have the confidence in using it, I'm a bit afraid of it scratching the paint and making things worse.
  20. Hmmm....that's got me thinking now. It would be nice to have the chips done.
  21. You just can't win these days. I went down the gym on Tuesday night to find out that they were holding some huge conference things in one of the rooms they have, so the car park was completely full. The security bloke waved at me and pointed to a space.......between a white van, and a car with a child seat in the back !! I told him he must be mad to think I'm parking between those two vehicles. I had some tw*t open their car door on me a couple of years ago (when I wasn't in the car) and dented my front wing, and things have never been the same since - I always park at the very top of the multi-storey when I go shopping in the centre, and always park as far away from the gym door as poss when I'm down there. I'm just glad it wasn't me who experienced that d-head with the trimmer.
  22. Go to Vauxhall, ask them if you can test drive one of their vehicles for the 3 day period they are advertising on TV, while your Lexus is in for a service.
