What should be in the boot?
PhilWebster replied to PhilWebster's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Thanks Martin -
Hi All, It's been a while since I've been on here. I've just replaced my 9 year old is250SE with a is300h F Sport (14 months old) love the car and very happy with it. I got it from my local Lexus Dealership (Birmingham). I have just had a good look in the boot when transfering my personal bits and pieces and found the usual stuff Compressor,Tyre repair Gel,Jack and towing ring. but noticed that there are some securing points and some empty compartments.I'm just wondering if there was a tool kit and a warning triangle in there that has been removed.and if there should be anything else in there that should be? I'm due to go back to the dealership on Monday morning (15th) to sort out a small defect on the rear bumper so would like to ask them where (if they are missing) these items are? could anyone tell me what should be found in the boot as standard it would be much appreciated. Many Thanks in advance Phil

Hand Brake Adjustment On Is250 Auto
PhilWebster replied to PhilWebster's topic in Brakes & Suspension
I adjusted the brake shoes they hold the car just wondering if I have adjusted them enough -
Hi, ive just adjusted my handbrake/park brake on my is250 auto as this was flagged at my service and i decided to do it myself.have adjusted it and it holds fine on hill but just wondering if it requires more adjustment as when i put it into drive/reverse the car does move at a certain point .I can feel the handbrake is holding the car back but does it require further adjustment so that it holds the car even when I accelarate or should it hold the car completely. MOT due in a few weeks so would like to make sure its ok Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi just trying to find out if anyone has had the same issue with their driver side windscreen wiper? where it connects to the wiper motor it has been rubbing on the facia between the bonnet and the windscreen causing score marks to the wiper arm .I had this before about 2 years ago and had a new wiper arm and facia fitted.1st noticed it again when getting smears on the windscreen when wipers on,thought it was just damaged wiper blades, took it into Lexus B'ham and their rectifying it.Believe it is excessive play on the motor arm causing it to move and rub on facia, just want to see if anyone has had the same fault, if not just to get people to have a look at its not that obvious a fault. :winky: Regards Phil

My Lexus had 30k service yesterday, had new front and rear discs and pads changed(due to lipping and on front and corrosion on rear) ,2 front wheels (due to corrosion) and a new wing mirror (due to a funny stain on mirror) ALL UNDER WARRANTY!!!! I don't know why some dealerships do these jobs under warranty and some are reluctant to? Where is the consistency !

PhilWebster replied to Lexus-IS's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
I replaced one after hitting curb and taking a chunk out of a wheel. The cost from Dealer a just under £300(in VAT) other options are Flea bay or wait for some corrosion to appear and get it changed under warranty. -
took car in today to Lexus Birmingham. recalled for the fuel pipe modification,Courtesy car waiting for me when I got there.great picked car back up this afternoon, full tank of fuel (just under half tank when it went in),nice bottle of champagne :hehe: on passengers seat nice and valeted inside and out!!!!:D Also they ordered 2 new front wheels (under warranty) due some corrosion on them(glad as some curbing on both ) It's great when you get service like that That's why we drive a lexus! Hi all Is250/220 Owners, While washing car last weekend I noticed that my drivers side windscreen wiper had some scoring on it where it had been rubbing against the facia where the windscreen and bonnet /engine compartment meet. Went into Lexus B'ham today were they changed the facia and wiper arm. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but have look,as it may be a common fault and like most I may never have found out as I only found it by accident when a bit of sponge fell by wiper arm while washing car. Advice you just have a check!! :winky:

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! just think of all those scratches and swirl marks all over the paintwork :tsktsk: as you rub all the dirt and grit in. I'd never was any car unless swilled all dirt off with water.did notice the video showed a woman using it to clean her car. must be aimed at the fairer s*x :winky:

How many miles had you done before the panel was changed? it had just ovet15.7k on the Clock before they changed the instrument panel(it's been written in the service history book)although it did start making a noise about 600 mile before. -

only noticed this the past few days but when I start the car up there is a rattle/ticking coming from the Instrument panel.never noticed it before anyone else had this? rather post it on here first rather than make myself look a prat at the dealership! Well took into Lexus B'ham last week,Tech told me to book it in and they'd have a look at it.So Booked and told they would need it for 2 days. Been in today.Got a Phone call at 4pm Car ready! new Instrument panel (ODO only shows 11 mile now) :winky: and a replacement wheel as well due to them noticing some corrosion on one of the rear wheels. Great job!! -

Auto everytime!!! :D never had a automatic before, but when I took my old is200 in for service and some other work, they gave me a new is250 Auto :) ,I had it for a few days and fell in love with it.So went back to dealer to pick my car up and came away with a 250 Se Auto. :winky: I think I will never go back to a manual car!If you do feel a bit bored at times just drop it into semi auto and use the paddles on the steering wheel.great fun!!!
