  1. Lee Thank you for your post, my tow bar set-up is the best you can get from, Westfalia automotive in Bristol, recommended by Lexus for the RX450h. I take your point about suspension, but this is for the coil springs that fit around the suspension arms. 2ddesign
  2. Rayaans You are correct that this does put an extra load on the springs! I do not live with salty air though. I just had the Lexus technician phone me up as I am typing this......the part has not turned up...... so it will be tomorrow when it is sorted! But I asked him if pulling the caravan was a cause, he commented that the other side is ok and more likely a fault in the metal of the spring? So at least I have a new NX 300h with 2000 miles on the clock to drive till then... 2ddesign
  3. Hi David Still waiting to pick-up vehicle, so have not had a chance to discuss this with them! My caravan is a Trivargo Silver 310, one of the smallest caravans you can get and the lightest 850kg. As to the cost it could be £430 approximately waiting for the part to be fitted today! 2ddesign
  4. Hi All My RX 450h 2010 with 47000 miles has failed the MOT with a rear suspension coil spring snapped in two places? I have seen the evidence video of the part on the vehicle, sent by Lexus Bristol, showing the item in situ broken in two places. So how does a vehicle of 47000 miles carefully driven get a snapped coil spring? OK, could it be because I have started pulling a caravan recently? Ideas, happened to anyone.... 2ddesign
  5. Hi Try this site for "all things" IS200.... IS200 link 2ddesign
  6. Hi Try this group on Facebook Lexus IS200 Classifieds (+IS300/Altezza) Ricky Smith is always breaking IS200's and posts stuff to your address. 2ddesign
  7. Hi I had my dash cam fitted by Lexus Cardiff, to my RX 450h 2010 model. The price was £125 all up, Ashely (technician) removed all the trim side pillars, glove box etc. see post 2ddesign
  8. Thank you for your comments, with my earlier post I had completed a search of the forum and found this post that confused me a little, regarding 235/55/R19 tyres. R19  wheels tyre pressure 2ddesign
  9. Hi yes you are right about the sidewall inflation pressure, not thought of it as the max the tyre can withstand before 2ddesign
  10. Hi when checking what the tyre pressures are for my new Michelin Cross climate tyres 235/55/R19s, it seems that there are different answers. On the Michelin website it states use only those pressures on the door pillars recommended by the vehicle manufactures not on the tyre side wall. So here are the ratings Lexus tyre pressures So looking at the ECO setting 36psi seems correct? 2ddesign
  11. Hi Sorcerer Yes it may seem excessive, but no wires are visible at all, and yes I was aware I could do it myself as many Utube videos how to Guides show dash cam fitting! By taking out the interior glove box and also removing the pillar contains the airbag, he has hidden the wires completely and it is a first class job. Excellent that you did yourself I chose not to! 2ddsign
  12. Hi I had my Dash Cam fitted by Lexus Cardiff £125 inc VAT, to my RX 450h model. All hidden away behind panels and Ashely fitted the 12v supply by drilling into the side of the housing of the arm rest and taking the cable up through the glove box and side pillar along the top fitting the cam behind the rear mirror. This left the large cigarette connection inside the box/armrest. Model fitted Mini DVR 0801 see review on this post below! 2ddesign
  13. Hi What about buying a 12v cigarette adaptor that has 4 ports so you can then plug into the same source as your front cam,(extension cables can be purchased). See on Amazon "Ring RMS4 Car Four 12V Sockets Adaptor for Dash Cams, Sat Navs and more" £11.98p
  14. Hi Yes, I have an RX 450h model and I pull a Trigano Silver 310 model with pop up roof. The cost of the tow bar is high, £900 fitted by Westfalia at their Bristol centre. This is the only tow bar that can go on an RX 450h, because of the air suspension! 2ddesign
  15. Hi I had a similar situation on my back wheel of clunking and banging. I had it stripped down and a cable guide held by a spot weld had failed and come loose, this was falling around in the wheel! see these posts below and Tango's post explains it also 2ddesign
  16. Hi All Come to an agreement with my insurance company over damaged Lexus Jack
  17. Hi Doro thank you for the information,at the moment my insurance company are quoting the Glass guide in our comunications. At last I have some hard evidence from Lexus Reading on the value of my car at the time of purchase that proves it is a Premier model as is, not just a Rx 450h SEL model purchased in 2010. So I will try that site out shortly when I return from my holidays! Jack
  18. Just had an e mail from the insurance company, the offer is now £18800? This is their best offer but is still short of what I need to have Rx 450 Premier model?
  19. I do not think I would get that tow bar without purchasing it and removing it myself, too much agro thanks Bob! Witter tow bar supplier in Bristol, offer for a RX 450h an all in price of tow bar and electric's fitted for £724.26 inc VAT! see http://www.witter-towbars.co.uk/towbars/towbar.php?id=7224&year=37
  20. Yes sadly I have Come to the same conclusion as well. Gathering evidence to try and improve my insurance payout of £18000, so I can afford a replacement Rx 450 2010 model with tow bar. Thank you all for your advice! Jack
  21. Hi Just returned from our Cornwall holiday, went to see my Rx 450h at FIX Auto Cardiff and can it get worse the vehicle was picked up by a scrap company that deals in high end cars on the instructions of Allianz Insurance yesterday. All I have now is a copy of the estimate of repairs from FIX Auto I picked up this morning! I was hoping to get an independent vehicle valuation of the repairs, that is if it is still in one piece...
  22. Graham many thanks for your advice and I am the innocent party in this mess! If I can get to the stage I was at before the accident with my Lexus, it might be a Miracle! Jack
  23. Thank you plastic orange for your advice, I am having sleep problems already! 2ddesign
  24. Hi advice please today my insurance contacted me about the accident, when someone pulled out in front and I ran into them. the Rx450h 2010 model I purchased one year ago for £23000 is now according to them a write off as the repairs would cost £15600! The vehicle They say is only worth £17000? So to them it is not worth repairing ! Iam away on holiday in Cornwall and will return tomorrow to Cardiff and will speak to them on Thursday! To say I am stunned by this news is an understatement! As yet I do not have an answer to this any advise please! 2ddesign
