  1. Maybe Monster-Mat can help you: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=52820
  2. A IS300 with torsen http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=WEqmrFRy7js&...feature=related
  3. oh, can you actually drift with your (I assume) stock engine/power? also your is an automatic, somehow it think drifting (or better call it tailsliding) would be... much harder without lot's of torque... i'm just honestly curious, because my car feel so underpowered and just to make the tail go out a lil bit really takes lot of effort... maybe I should have it dyno'ed, i'm starting to thinkg I'm on a dead engine or something... The torsen LSD increases the grip while prevent the loss of power and transfer that to the wheel with more grip (in a open diff one wheel spins and loss all power and the other it's stopped like the car). My n/a and auto IS200 now can make perfect donuts in dry tarmac leaving two black marks, before that not possible with an open diff but for tailsliding the best is poor grip (in ground or tyres) with or w/o lsd :D . Also the torsen it's compatible with TRC so it's good for normal drive and good for a crazy time (not in open road of course). I hope you can understand me with my poor english, it's hard to me See the videos, with open diff look how loss the power the inside wheel: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=YsI_y-6s254 Also drifting it's possible with open diff: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=F5UpFp-7-zs better tailsliding with lsd, torsen: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=1S0EtOAmuTE or mechanical: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=yaNNd4q-82Y
  4. It's the same, not the whole differential and shafts but the internal LSD it's identical, the best way it's change by a whole diff from Sport IS200 but you can change just the LSD from Altezza with your crown/pinion and shafts.
  5. That is the one I installed, the Sport has a torsen diif. more info about lsd more info about torsen
  6. I changed my open diff by a oem torsen and I'm very happy with it. I think is quite good even for its occasional drift use, if I'm not wrong Monster-Matt use one until recently (before change it by a mechanical lsd) with a lot of engine power and in the old videos seems he can make very good drifting :D
  7. I should discard the turbo because the ITV (MOT) don't accept it, require a lot of money and paperwork to legalise and the S/C it's more easy to do. Also I hope to find a very cheap MB compressor in some scrapyard, and at the moment two major problems have disappeared, the setup with a HKS FCD and the bypass with a BOV, but the TTE airbox, the tensioner, and the compressor bracket worries me. I'm will be very grateful if someone can be puts some pics about of details about tensioner and the rest of the installation taken from near.
  8. I have already tried to buy a compressor for 2000 pounds but this has not happened. Thanks for your advice but indeed your argument puts out of my budget the price of the compressor that you offer me. Add new info in this topic: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...pressor+rebuild "u can also order a cable operated valve instead from magnusson for info the pulley on the compressor is 110mm" "the pulley on the water pump is 130mm" Edit, the correct link is: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...pressor+rebuild
  9. It was definitely the back of the car, and it wasn't a clicking, it was more like a grinding noise. I'll have to investigate more, but was wondering if it was normal with an LSD. It's normal in some mechanical LSD but not in helical Torsen LSD that should be very smooth and quiet.
  10. I'm looking for any part of the TTE compressor, specially the airbox.
  11. Thanks for your answer! I think the same thing, but obviously not, is proving difficult for me to buy one and I have made several attempts. On the other hand I like the challenge, I see it feasible (with the help of all of you) and I suppose that cost will be less. All these factors have made me decide.
  12. I decided to make my own compressor so I need your help. First I need to buy a 98-00 MB 230 CLK/SLK compressor, that come with electromagnetic clutch but can be removed easy. I need know the size of some parts. Intercooler no problem: TTE Intercooler Core Size 430 x 115 x 51 Inlet/Outlet Diameter 54mm New Intercooler Core size 531 x 180 x 63 (180 - 20 = 160mm high of unrestricted airflow) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=52070 Housings no problem will be built on the fly. Problems: TTE airbox, I don't wanna direct air filter. Tensioners, pulley and by pass. The pulley of compressor have 130 mm. of diameter and can be built, but how wide? I need also pics of the accommodation of the tensioner. How does the bypass? When you open the throttle is opened too? What it's the function? Somebody have a pic of the layout? The compressor bracket must be built on the fly, seems difficult. Thanks in advance.
  13. I don't know, that's what the seller of the kit says: "The kit comes with the following - 1) Manifold, 2jz stainless steel 6 branch manifold 2) Wastegate 3) Oil and oil cooler lines + the Sandwich plate for the oil filter 4) Sumper pre tappa for oil return line 5) Manifold Adapter 6) Intercooler 7) Blue SAMC intercooler pipes + + all the clips Hoses 8) HKS SQV Blow Off Valve with pipe connector 9) Greddy eManager (Blue) 10) Greddy PROFECE EO-1 Boost controller as well as data display / logger and programmer eManage 11) Fuel cut defend "
  14. Have you seen this?: Manifold adaptors http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...mp;#entry585200
  15. normal decat would be 5.5 not really much difference mate, but i had the charger fitted at the same time so hard to tell really I'm worry about noise but I see that's a bit more, I'm going to do then, thank you very much mate.
  16. Stav, I think you have a decat or prolex/katana manifold, please, can you tell how much more noisy that versus oem? In a scale 1 to 10 if oem it's 5, what grade would be decat?
  17. The hole for O2 sensor it's after the main cat http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-...e/m_ec_0008.pdf it's in the catback http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-...e/m_em_0103.pdf
  18. I would prefer weld a pipe with same diameter, I think that will be better because it will keep the gas pressure and I imagine it will be less noisy because resonate less. Perhaps I'm wrong, I'm not an expert.
  19. read the new topic i started about WARNING MANIFOLD OK, sorry.
  20. What's your first impression about the new manifold?
  21. Steering wheel left side is the RIGHT side
