  1. I love the WFH life. It coincided with me having a child and so allowed me to experience so much more than I would have being gone for 12hrs a day during the week. Had been tied to the City for 16 years so took the chance to sell up and move to greener pastures away from London. I don't miss the commute one bit and haven't been into the office for nearly 2.5 years now. I do appreciate what others have said, and agree that it doesn't work for all so flexible hybrid options need to be offered. I can't see myself ever going back and feel privileged to be able to say that, as it wouldn't be the case if I was just starting out. It must be tough for that group as others have pointed out.
  2. It wasn't the cost, more my annoyance at the misinformation and how long it's taken to get this far. I was busy with work when they called so poor timing as my patience was lacking, and as they're weren't clear and to the point I just wanted to get them off the phone after hearing the price differences. Haven't looked into it yet, but definitely buying a second cable as it'll become a pain like you said, and hoping that'll be less than the price BG quoted. Cheers.
  3. Just had a call from BG finally, but with different information and costs. Originally quoted £59 for an 8m cable but now being told it's that plus £96 for the tethered unit as the offer is for untethered only. If I want a longer cable for the untethered version then it'll be £199 for a 10m one. Couldn't be arsed with it all so just told them to go with the untethered free version. So now need to know, how long is the charging cable that comes with the car?
  4. Had a 'Follow our progress' email and additional info is showing in the app, so hoping that means I've been allocated a May build slot... 🤞
  5. I received an email update from Leicester today and mid-July is now August on my 10th Jan 450h+ order... Gonna be the weirdest couple of car purchasing experiences on the trot for me. Lockdown meant I had to wait 3 months from purchase to pickup on my used RX and now this for my first new car experience lol...
  6. Not bad timing considering there was no ETA, and gotta love having the logo!
  7. Nice little write up and an interesting read!
  8. I concur and that's why I'm on my 6th Lexus with the 7th on order... I dabbled with another brand (BMW) once during that time and regretted it wholeheartedly, so never again!
  9. I'm hoping an OTA sorts this out before I take delivery as it's sounds so annoying!
  10. I referred to annual sales as I was sure I'd seen the last couple years at some point, but just looked it up for you. https://media.lexus.co.uk/lexus-overcomes-2020s-challenges-to-reach-record-breaking-uk-market-share/#:~:text=In terms of volume%2C 13%2C727,cars were sold in 2020. https://media.lexus.co.uk/lexus-maintains-momentum-with-strong-2021-uk-sales-results/ I don't believe stats are available for advanced orders, but going on the annual sales for the brand you can see why the 20k didn't seem right to me. The NX is their top seller so likely takes a big chunk of that, but not aware of the exacts. It was the hypothetical number of orders as maths is maths, so didn't think that would be hard to work out. Jay Z's version is my preferred, but as the saying goes... Men lie, woman lie, but numbers don't. Unless they're made up that is lol. Do note that I only said I thought you were being harsh when looking at the big picture, so there was no malice, which can't be said about your initial reply which came across as insulting. You may not be seeking to be right, but you're certainly talking down to people like Don said. Doesn't bother me but just chill a little as the delay really does seem to be getting to you more than it should. It's just a car and there's so many more important things to worry about, and that's from someone who's also sitting here waiting for their car to arrive!
  11. Sorry you're not getting the NX you ordered. Think I'd cancel if that was the case, especially if there's no change in cost/deal. I was referring to other manufacturers who aren't able to offer all of the options in the brochure, rather than actual spec changes that seem to have taken place with Lexus. I mentioned unrecognised revenue and right to cancel as I was simply trying to highlight the fact that the money paid is a refundable deposit and not the true value of the goods that Lexus will eventually recognise. I'm sure annual UK sales across the brand are way less than 20k cars so your statement felt disingenuous, hence me thinking it sounded harsh. This.
  12. I think that's quite harsh as Lexus appear to be the ones who are able to build cars with complete functionality when others can't, and with better lead times to. The most recent delays caused by war and earthquake are a little out of anyone's hands so not sure what else could be done. If the grass was greener elsewhere then I could understand the criticism, but it really isn't so struggling to understand your level of expectation. We have the right to cancel at any point so that £10m is not recognised revenue yet and so means nothing.
  13. Hope the big bow wasn't too distracting on the way home! 😜
  14. Annoyingly BG are yet to call back to arrange the install, but they've sent another letter to thank me for accepting the quote lol... Think I'll need to get on the phone with them again but was hoping they would have called me by now!
  15. Only requirement was that I had to provide it in writing. They obviously did it through gritted teeth as they were losing a sale, but nothing they can do about due to consumer rights. The delivery date not being due is completely irrelevant and so just the sales persons trying to not lose a deal. Many people ordered before the demo vehicles were available and so orders were always seen as test drive dependant. Interestingly my deposit was paid to Lexus UK but my refund came from the dealership itself (Steven Eagle). The reality is you can cancel for no other reason than you simply changed your mind!

  17. Agreed, all about the deal being locked in. I think the next update will be bad news after seeing the earthquake. Renesas have closed three of their factories so further semiconductor supply issues for us all! Yeah, I was refunded after securing a better deal.
  18. Interesting... My last update was 01/03 and they quoted mid-July for my 10/01 order...
  19. Yes, I'm pretty sure you can tell it when to charge via the app... So get home and plug it in, but set it so that it charges in the early hours and hits 100% just before you need to leave...
  20. As I have the Superman combo on order it's obviously a red vote from me! My first three Lexus were black interior (silver, blue, blue) and the last three have been red (blue, black, silver) as the black became boring for me. Think all the previous were a darker shade of red though... Multiple dealers have said the Superman combo sells really well and my own experience definitely backs that up.
  21. I chased this morning and was told they're allocating an engineer and someone will be in touch once confirmed... So still waiting for a call back...
  22. These Bridgestone Alenza were on the F Sport demo I had a test drive in. Not found them online but assume this is what Stapleton's will be supplying eventually.
