  1. I know there's been a number of cell site sharing agreements over the years so it's interesting to see how many that actually works out to, which appears to be most in my area. This thread reminds me of my telecommunication days and reminisce about 1999-2004... No, but as above there's been a number of cell site sharing agreements over the years which has allowed them to save on backhaul and maintenance costs.
  2. Yeah, my 450h+ F Sport is up another £1,500 on the base price... The Takumi package has been reduced to £3,000 from £4,500 so looks like they just moved the £1,500 over! What a ***** take lol...
  3. No inconsistency as I didn't say it wasn't a ***** take both ways, just that I enjoy being able to benefit from the situation by changing my purchasing habits and buying new for the first time. If I was doing nearly new as usual the two inflated prices would balance eachother out somewhat.
  4. Perfectly aware of the supply and demand market we're currently in but still think it's a proper ***** take, regardless of the company taking advantage of the situation. However, I do enjoy it benefiting me on my trade in and being able to get £3.5k more than I paid for it two years ago! I usually buy nearly new so this is the first time I've ordered and happy to pay under list and wait patiently for my new car to arrive...
  5. So Lexus Teeside are jokers it seems... 😂😂😂 Seeing as the dealership is named Decidebloom Ltd it's not surprising! It's more than a brand new one with the Takumi package (which isn't worth the money anyway)...
  6. Not the sticks, but a newer (15-20 years old) suburb of a city in Cambridgeshire so I'm not really missing anything apart from a decent signal! I do love the fact that everything is 15 minutes away now, regardless of what time of day or week. In London I would never contemplate shopping at the weekend but around here no problem at all!
  7. In person and the engineer said online ones tend to have issues as something is missed.
  8. I'm a Londoner but moved out about 6 months ago (thank you pandemic and WFH!) and have realised how poor it can be when you're not in the main area of a town or city. This was the case when I worked in the industry 20 years ago and so was surprised that it's still the same today. Whether it's just poor coverage or network congestion it seems that all of the networks are iffy at times. At home I have 1-2 bars of 4G on EE so calls work fine but actual data use is crap due to network congestion and them prioritising voLTE. Had a 20% discount running since I moved but it hasn't improved so I'm unsure what I'll do when my contract ends in April. Got PAYG sims for the other networks and Vodafone and Three seem to be the same, with O2 only having 3G here but with a full signal mostly but low throughput.
  9. Survey done and all good as nothing needed prior to install. Engineer was excellent so it was pain free and very informative. Just over the power threshold that requires them to ask permission from UK Power Networks (rather than just inform them post install) so could be looking at 7-14 days for that to he approved, and so having it installed before the end of March is still a possibility for me. Going with the tethered cable but upgraded to the 8m (instead of 5m) one for pennies under £60. British Gas sound the people to go with as they want to be the market leader / go to company for this, and so are willing to waive quite a bit of non standard install cost in comparison to other firms (engineer thinks they're give away too much!).
  10. Lol at the price as that's more than I'm paying for my 450h+ F Sport!
  11. I just get someone else to do it, problem solved.
  12. Yes it does. Saw a message pop up when I parked up at the end, but think it's via the Lexus Link app.
  13. My survey is taking place tomorrow and haven't done any prep so just gonna see what they say...
  14. Night and day in some respects, but the Lexus DNA comes through on both for sure (new NX will be my 7th Lexus). The RX feels much bigger inside obviously, but I have the pan roof which makes it even more airy against my RC as that didn't have anything, and so felt very cockpit like, which I enjoyed. The ride height difference is stark and so they feel completely different in that regard, but as expected it's the usual looking over everyone feeling safe in a SUV against sitting low and feeling real sporty in a coupe. I miss the drive of the RC as the RX has too much body roll and so can wallow a bit, and even though this is improved in Sports+ mode it can't come near to the feel of a low sprung coupe. I do enjoy the additional power in the RX which was noticeable from day one. After having a test drive in the NX450h+ on Friday I think it will be a nice compromise for me in terms of family functionality and driving pleasure as roll was nonexistent and even more power!
  15. Yeah, definitely subjective... I came from an RC so it was a bigger change than most perhaps... I haven't driven a non F Sport RX450h so only reference points are my previous Lexus coupe or saloons.
  16. Unsure, but as I had two orders placed I can see both references which are: 31/12 = KP5051 10/01 = KQ0674 So was just interested to try and work out what they mean. Assume the letters are dealer or factory references and the numbers are build spots...
  17. I got a £3k discount on mine. Had two dealers trying to secure my business, and I told them both that "I'd like a new car but I don't need one, so you'll have to make it so I can't refuse"... They went back and forth a few times before I got the deal. Funnily enough, I felt the offers from the one I didn't go with were always provided through gritted teeth and were a real headache for them. I'm with RXtoNX as think it's best to have a plate allocated and then change it, whether that's before or after handover (just make sure those plates are made of before). Only downside is having to inform the various companies and a potential insurance admin fee, but means your in control of taking it off as you have the old plate to whack on, and as I said, it's 5 mins online and done.
  18. Naa, not too early as you can just buy it and keep it on retention for now. Putting on and off a car is easy as all done online, literally 5 minutes. Also gives you time to get plates made up if you're looking for custom ones (recommend Demon Plates where I got mine).
  19. It's the USB A connection for AA, the USB C ones are power only. And just seen this was answered already, so I really need to read the new posts before quoting others lol.
  20. Guilty as charged! NX450h+ F Sport on order to replace my 2016 RX450h F Sport. The RX was the family car that replaced my RC a couple years ago, as the old NX was big enough for my needs but didn't live up to my expectations of the badge (inside and out). So as a longtime Lexus owner the RX was the only option for me (new NX will be my 7th). I've looked at the facelift but not driven it, and so your first point is interesting to hear as definitely one of my gripes with my one. Second and third are general Lexus/hybrid traits in my eyes, but the last also rings true and so was a factor in my choice. Test drove the NX today and it ticks the boxes for 1 and 4 for sure... We finally have a proper infotainment system!
  21. Placed that order on 10th January. My cancelled order was 31st December and as it's still showing in the app, I'm interested to see the difference 10 days makes...
  22. Can't say I really noticed any difference in tyre noise between my RX and the NX. Exactly what I thought. Surprised me as I don't believe they've had it that long either...
  23. Went for a test drive today so got an update on my order whilst there, and my provisional date was 12th May but now expected before end of June. New order deliveries are September onwards now. Really liked the car and as it'll be my 7th Lexus and 4th hybrid, it was very much as expected for me. Had no problems using the electronic doors that some reviewers have moaned about, felt natural to use both in and out. The F Sport seats are certainly more snug than those in my RX, so whilst fine for me I can certainly attest to what others have said. The infotainment system is fantastic and what Lexus have needed for years, my only gripe is a lack of home button which means some screens need to be closed via the on screen button which is a little cross top left. It's reachable but a home button on the right or keeping the main menu strip showing at all times would be better. Didn't have a USB cable to test AA unfortunately, but used the navigation which is also light years ahead of the old system. No issues with them reducing the number of physical buttons as all was easily accessible via the screen. The demo had the Takumi pack added which confirmed my thoughts on it not being worth the cost on the 450h+. Didn't like the digital mirror output so just used it normally, but the camera housing reduces visibility as it's like a little upside down triangle built into the middle of the rear window frame. The mirror also appeared shorter than the one in my RX, so interested to see the normal one. One of the additional safety features that come with it also annoyed me - was waiting at a roundabout and the front cross thing kept flashing up due to the cars passing, and as my head was turned to the right watching said cars the heads up displays warnings were just a distraction. Also had the rear one that comes as standard surprise me when I had stopped in traffic and someone came to a stop behind me as I was glancing at them in the rear view mirror, and so the warning made me jump. Enjoyed the drive as it's much more rigid and so doesn't waft like the RX does, so more fun and involving to drive, and that's in normal mode let alone Sports +. Could feel the increased power when compared to my RX, and the EV only mode was brisk yet smooth and quiet. I also liked the smaller steering wheel and new gear selector, even if it will take a little getting used to. Demo had done 9,500 miles and was showing 2.4 miles per kWh on the trip, so sounds like the 40 mile EV range is spot on in real world use. They had fitted the style pack to the demo, but I'm certain it's only the side steps on the F Sport as per the brochure. Looked good though, so here's a pic of next to my RX. Finally, it had Bridgestone Alenza 001's on it.
