  1. coilovers aren't an option at the minute unfortunately as not got the 1700 quid to do it all think thats going to be end of the year possibly so i just want the springs for now and the shocks have only covered about 20k i think as i have a receipt for them being done
  2. right i have gone through this before but the alloys i was bidding on i didn't get so i got money for springs any recommendations on for the mk1 GS300 and if so whos got them and how much
  3. I use BT 2mb broadbant its £26 a month with a 15gb download limit. i do alot of downloading too and i haven't hit my limit yet
  4. sounds like a fuel air ratio problem do you know if it is getting sufficient fuel delivery ? although i don't know how you would check that. I don't know if the fuel pump is constant output but i would assume it is could it possibly be that the fuel pump isn't delivering enough and when you open the throttle the pump doesn't pick up fast enough Bet some of the more serious modders will have a better idea as they play with fuel delivery and the like
  5. /Ah right i remember you saying but thought you had managed to get the bearings from the way the previous post was written was going to say i can put them in using liquid nitrogen buts thats redundant now
  6. i have a samsung slide phone and it has old phone i think as a stored melody thats a ring ring one
  7. surely things like this can be reconditioned new seals etc is there the know how here to do things like this and if it can be done why don't we do make sure we keep the old parts and stockpile them we could have our own stores :D i know the logistics of it seem a nightmare but is it plausible ? any money made could be put back into the club given to charity i dunno little bit but just a wild idea
  8. yep my gs idles at 600rpm ish when its warm and it only moves when the air con kicks in or fan then rises slightly for a minute or so then idles back at 600 (hope thats normal )
  9. not sure what you mean by sheared in half do yo mean as in snapped or as in split into two thinner belts if it has split into two you would have to assume it had ridden to the edge of the pulley and sat there till it wore through
  10. so you got the replacement bearings for it then thats good i thought you were replacing the whole unit didn't really look at the prices though but i am surprised ceramics are less expensive in everything else ceramets are dearer Just need to wait till carbon fibre is cheap now and we're onto a winner :D
  11. this maybe a completely dumb question but can you chargethe battery without disconnectiong it i have always disconnected but then i have never had a stereo that would lock if i lost power to it
  12. i know the ceramics handle the heat better but i have seen that they can be replaced with steel
  13. right just found a similar post that says aboutthe battery now if i disconnect the battery will it cause my car stereo to code lock as i have never set it and i don't have a code however i have pulled the efi and ecu fuses before with no problem and i am sure someone said its linked to the ecu for the coding electrickery again isn't it
  14. right this has just started but i have got the problem to repeat several times when i go to turn the engine over i get a sound aand a tick as if power is going to the starter but no turning of the engine i let the key back off the spring and the engine turns over no problems ............. any ideas i am thinking starter motor already because it doesn't struggle to get hold the second time either that or a dodgy connection but i think i can rule that out as it is the same every time not intermittent
  15. would ask the same question about the pipe and bends given me some ideas nice fettling too fella :D
  16. the car does not have problems with heavy load either must be into fat chicks too
  17. doing it yourself are you ? want some micromesh
  18. oh dear know whos driving the lex with the abba blasting out then :D ← Or 1812 ← surely gotta be flight of the valkyries especially when overtaking :D
  19. i know it says that its 10 years but how do you test them u cant blow them up and repack can you The inflation system is not unlike a solid rocket booster (see How Rocket Engines Work for details). The air bag system ignites a solid propellant, which burns extremely rapidly to create a large volume of gas to inflate the bag. The bag then literally bursts from its storage site at up to 200 mph (322 kph) -- faster than the blink of an eye! A second later, the gas quickly dissipates through tiny holes in the bag, thus deflating the bag so you can move. like to know how you check that its like we don't check ejection seats work by sitting in them and banging out must just be a continuity check
  20. You're not far wrong mate. I have seen plenty of jokers that call themselves Motor Technicians ← (comes in with floppy shoes and big red nose) you'll be hearing from my brief discrimination that :D
  21. oh dear know whos driving the lex with the abba blasting out then :D
  22. Ahh Chrome :D ← thought you might have had that on the cards well if your going to that expense why not splash out on a new seal
  23. as fluff said if its rubber it will be reuseable but would you rather need it and not have it or have it and not need it ? what you doing anyway spraying it up
  24. wheels in motion will clear this up for you when he sees it but i would have assumed the geometry check would be to fixed points on the car that would exclude the tyres otherwise you would need a new geometry every time you changed your tyres
