  1. can post a picture of wet paint so you can watch it dry too by the way did you know the atomic mass of nitrogen (N) is 16 while the atomic mass of oxygen (O) is 14 thats why theres hardly any difference in gaseous weight betrween air and nitrogen :) (gets ready to be off on toes)
  2. I think Rillo says it all for a vast majority of people. We are all dissillusioned with the current goverment for being a bunch of PC apologists and for hammering the workers to pay for the shirkers. Now i have no problem with those that have worked and are unfortunate enough to be out of work its the career dolites that get my back up Perhaps a goverment that gives you what you work for would be in order because there is no way anyone should be better off for not working and claiming social I'm going to stop there and climb down off my soap box before i give the impression my politics are to the right of ghenghis khan but these people who breed like rabbits and just claim on the social for them surely it can be stopped with the swift movement of a couple of housebricks
  3. BTCC the last time i followed the BTCC there were T%'s racing and john cleland (if thats right) was in the vauxhalls good day at donnington though as i remember
  4. if u want to do connie work and get big ££ then its a BIG yes, most places will only accept CAA, look on aviationjobsearch.com u will see what i mean. u get exemptions? ← now i'm going but we don't get grandfather rights anymore in reference to the licences have to do the lot but i would rather stay with the engines as i do optical blade measurement laser profiling and damage assessment as well just can't find anyone who wants what i can do :duh:
  5. no don't close it its too much fun and something i learned ahs finally come into use :D
  6. going to do my CAA licences in a while is it worth the hassle ?
  7. nope not marham or colt :D its quiet here but thats the back end of beyond
  8. Sorry mate, I don't want to go but your gettin confused with a Community Beat Officer and Police Community Support Officer The "beat" officer is "your local bobby on the beat" the 2nd is not a police officer : http://www.metpolicecareers.co.uk/default....n=article&ID=95 for more info ............. ← go off topic as much as you want thats where the humourous interludes come in :D
  9. speelings ok what about punctuation though :D
  10. lol we use it on aircraft so i had an unfair advantage. and we get bored by the details of it on courses
  11. lets start a Brewsters millions campaign Vote none of the above :D
  12. so if we get pulled by anyone in your constabulary is their a secret handshake we should know ;)
  13. discussing politics is the great british pass time besides the weather because you know you will regret your vote given six months of them being in office lol
  14. So... on the Bahrain GP - when I heard the radio chatter and one driver requested the pressure on his tyres dropping... that would never happen ← all gasses will expand with temperature but nitrogen and air expand roughly the same due to the large nitrogen content but temperature and pressure are linked as is speed and pressure so if the tyre heats up or is heated by the brakes then the gas inside the tire will expand in relation to the thermal or kinetic input and also ambient pressure. However the base pressure will always be the same i.e your standard you inflate at (normal 15 degrees on an isa day 1014mb) but if ambient pressure drops the pressure inside the tyre will appear to rise due to the differential. With speed the faster the air flows round the tyre causes a drop in pressure around the tyre so again the tyre pressure will go up differentially Isn't science fun :D but if the f1 car had got some moisture in the tyres the pressure would have been all over went the long way round that
  15. will add my political view on this i have some problems at the min with a few work things and have had no joy with the armed forces minister however the local mp (conservative) has taken ownership of my problem and is backing me i know where my vote is going and besides which i have always voted that way
  16. if you can find out the bearing part no's or sizes i can find out about the bearings and would think the impeller will be ok just as long as the noise you heard was a whine and not intermittent or scraping mettallic. Feel for you dude nothing worse than parting with ur pride n joy
  17. lol i worked supplying bits for the engines got to have ablat round silverstone though in fact when david coultards engine blew in the 1998 f1 that was one of our bits :D some numpty hadn't usedthe right adhesive for a metaseal been out of it for 7 years now so lost contact with most people
  18. you thinking of doing it for spares repairs now
  19. you know the neighbours look at me really funny when i am out polishing my tailpipes glad i ain't the only one :D
  20. lots of computer and comms type people isn't there thats good cos electrickery scares me :D
  21. it won't save any tyre wear thats probably derived from the fact they deflate more slowly so you are at the correct tyre pressure for longer its a claim thats fudging the figures a bit
  22. Just thought i would ask this one as I don't have a clue what people do besides post on here (besides TDi and Pro Lex) those that have been here a while probably know what each other does but its always helpful if you need advice on something or if someone has their own business (one hand washes the other know what i'm saying ;) ) So to kick it off at the moment i'm in mad lizzies flying circus (the RAF for the uninitiated) i'm an engineer and i work on airframes and engines (building testing ground running etc) prior to that i was in F1 doing valve and cam profiling and all sorts of other stuff. I'm a qualified aerospace as well as production engineer and i can CNC part programme and given a workshop do pretty much anything bar grinding So if theres anything that falls in that remit give me a shout
  23. good luck and if its lex orientated and in norwich i'm in east anglia so will have a butchers :D
