  1. Welcome, from one Andy to another. :D
  2. Mine is also pretty quiet, especially when cold. It almost sounds stock at that point. It really rumbles when it gets up to temperature though. I know what you mean about the first start up though, when I first started mine I was shocked at how little difference it made for a full system. However, its about power not noise! Plus I then found out after that that it got loud when warm. Good for stealthy pull offs. ;)
  3. Wow, looks very nice. Much nicer than it does in pictures. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I though the new IS was only coming with a diesel engine - the tacho had a 7k rpm redline, indicating a petrol engine?
  4. Email recieved. Sounds pretty straight forward as long as we get directed to the right place!
  5. Ive just spent so much recently on parts, I don't see why I need to spend another wad of cash on an induction kit that I could quite easily replicate myself. I like a challenge anyway. :D Oh, and thanks for the ideas guys.
  6. I had an idea today about making my own induction kit, as I don't have enough money to buy the greddy/trust kit. Also, I find it quite hard to stomach the price tag and only getting the filter and a bit of pipe. So, I thought i would try to make one my self using two straight pieces of pipe, an Apexi filter and a 90 degree and a 45 degree samco hose joiner. Any Ideas?
  7. :o Thats insane! Just get some others from elsewhere after the service. £50 for a set is madness.
  8. Around £750, no mods though (except my newly fitted zorst, which im in the process of adding).
  9. Im only 20. I think theres an 18 y/o on here that learned to drive in one though. Welcome to the group! :D
  10. A little later than I originally said, but here you go. Mp3
  11. Here you go: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33709
  12. Yep, that was the guy. Came out as £195.
  13. It is tricky to gauge, but I think it may pick up slightly better. It could just be psychological though, zorsts won't really make a whole lot of difference on a NA car. The good thing is that im positive I haven't lost any power.
  14. Good to hear you are both ok. Cars can be fixed, people can't be fixed so easily.
  15. Well, as some of you know I have recently purchased a Blue Flame full exhaust system to my IS200. I got round to fitting it today, now that my University exams are over until next year. It took a total of around 3 hours to do by myself (and the occasional spare pair of hands from my mate). The hardest part was actually getting the old exhaust off! All the bolts had rusted to an extent, but a bit of brute force and they came off without too much complaining. While this bit was easy and done in about 30 minutes, I then spent about 2 hours trying to get 4 rubbers off to free the damn thing! They were extremely tight and took a lot of poking at (no jokes please) with a screwdriver to get free and finally released the old system. Boy, its suprising how much rust can collect in 6 years (my car being a 99 T). After that, the new system went on a breeze, in about half an hour. I also used some great 'gasket in a tube' paste to seal the two sections together and then seal to the remains of the exhaust. This was great stuff and was very cheap, its basically just silicone paste that can withstand high temperatures. Heres some pics: (sorry about the poor quality, I only had my camera phone to hand). Just an idea of what it looked like. Ditto Comparison of the two Old vs new The new shiny centre silencer The finished product :D Ditto Overall, i'm well chuffed with it. The build quality was great! It gives a nice sporty deep burble from 1-about 3k rpm, but still remains unobtrusive. At higher rpm's it goes a little quieter, but still makes a nice noise. Its music to my ears through tunnels! Its just right for me, easy to keep it quiet but makes a nice sound when I hit the fun pedal a bit harder, without being too loud at all. Looks very similar to the oem exit too (if you have the chrome tip). Overall, im well impressed. Price, looks, practicality, build quality and noise are all perfect. I'll attempt to get an mp3 of it on here some time tomorrow. Highly recommended! :)
  16. Just wondering is this just me but the trust one in this picture http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...5&hl=greddy is a bit ugly it cuts striaght across the engine and looks a bit thrown together. Whereas this induction kit http://www.altezzasportsandprestige.com/Ai...uction_kits.htm looks a lot better going around the engine and down into the slot. What do you lot think ???????????????????? ← The Trust one would be the best, since the filter is in a place where it will get colder air and the pipe is pretty straight. The Injen one on the other hand is probably not a good idea, since it takes a long bendy route round the engine, and in one place goes directly above the exhaust manifold (not good for cold air!). To top it off the filter ends up directly behind the radiator where it will get nothing but warm air anyway. Go for the Trust kit and then buy a different filter if you don't like the look of it.
  17. I've seen quite a few other braces advertised for use in both the 200 and 300, so I would presume that would be the same.
  18. What a shame, a thread this long and no real pictures yet. :eerrrmm:
  19. Which tailpipe did you go for Andy? ← This one. I don't think i'll get any choice about it, just a standard 4in exit. Not that im fussed though at that price! :D
  20. I'm fitting a full Blue Flame system to mine in a few days, ill post up about it once its done.
  21. Apexi it is then. Strange how bad HKS actually did.
  22. How annoying is it that one dealer/supplier can dirty the generally good reputation of Lexus dealers. Things like this almost make me not want to take my car to a Lexus garage to get work done. That really stinks and I hope 'Mr X' can get things sorted out.
