  1. I really like the second one, nice and simple. I think the other two are a tad OTT.
  2. I am very pleased, I'll be wanting to polish it every day - black is a hard colour to keep clean and pristine! Mods will have to wait a bit, until I can afford them. I dont have very many pennies left now.
  3. Well, as some of you know I had a pretty nasty accident not too long ago, which wrote off my car. Since then, I've been searching high and low for a suitable replacement... and here it is! She's a 2002 car (3 years newer than my old one) with 37k on the clock. Brilliant bodywork, it had obviously been looked after well. Drives so much better than my old car. Im a happy chappy again! :D
  4. Resetting the won't wouldn't change anything. Mine used to creak too, its generally the bolt where the seat belt fastener is on the left side of your seat. Squib some oil in there and work it in a little bit and it should be fine.
  5. I don't have a car to go in it at the moment... Found my new one though, should have it this weekend. Next year it is then for me!
  6. Hmm, not bad. But as we all know, production cars never end up looking anything like their concepts...
  7. EDIT - nevermind, I just realised it was earlier than I thought, ignore this post please.
  8. Very nice, I'm extremely impressed with the door cards, looks great.
  9. Deafening?! I was suprised at how quiet it was for a full system when I bought it. Its very easy to keep quiet too if you want to. Did you fit it yourself? Maybe it was leaking somewhere...
  10. Back in my first week of having a car when i was learning to drive, i put on some cheapo alloy ones that came free with a magazine (im not proud of it!) and within a week someone had stolen them. BUT, they couldn't even get all of them off - so they ended up with 3 free valve caps! Grrrrrrr...
  11. This is a pretty similar incident to one I had recently - writing off my car. Hope yours is fixable and its good that that car did its job and kept you safe.
  12. Just got a phone call today, cost of repairs is estimated at just under 9k Basically, its going to be written off. Thanks for all the offers guys, but I guess I don't need to take you up on them now. I appreciate the support greatly though. *Sigh* Well, I guess the search starts for a new car again.
  13. My favourites were Annie Lennox, The Who and currently Pink Floyd. They wiped the floor with the rest imo, you just can't beat the old stuff.
  14. Wow, thanks a lot! Much appreciated! I'm so overcome with gratitude from everyone's kindness. This really is a great community. :)
  15. Great stuff, thanks a lot! Ill post up once I know some more about what needs replacing, only phoned the insurance this morning and they don't think its likely to get looked at until Monday.
  16. Sorry about the car, i'm sure "team" LOC will help if we can, and i can? If you get the car back i will set the geometry up for you..... on me :D ← Wow what an offer! That would be a great help, thanks. The kind words are appreciated guys.
  17. I do fear that if its repaired it will be terrible to drive. Theres a part of me that wants it to be written off for that reason, but I still want my baby back. I also doubt i'll get anything near what i paid for it (9K).
  18. I was coming home from somewhere late last night and was approaching a blind corner. Road conditions weren't too great, pretty wet and dark. Just as i was exiting the corner, a deer ran out onto the road infront of me - I instinctively swerved out of the way onto the otherside of the road and lifted off at the same time (bad move) and started to lose the back end, so I countersteered the other way still off throttle (bad move again). The tail snapped back the other way, the car swapped ends and I went backwards off the road, up a kerb, into and over a roadsign and down into a 6 foot deep ditch. The good news in all of this is that me and my friend in the car were both unharmed as it was a relatively low speed accident. No-one else was involved either. The bad news is that the whole back end of the car is buckled, the spare wheel is wedged in the well and the rear right wheel is now pointing in towards the centre of the car at about a 5 degree angle. I expect it to be written off really, which is where I could do with some opinions of people in the know. Its a 1999 T reg SE with 36k on the clock. The insurance say that if the repair bill will cost more than 60% of the value of the car then it will be written off. Add me to the list of crashees! Im absolutely gutted, but at least no-one was injured.
  19. Congrats! Glad you finally found your baby mate.
  20. Another great idea from Ladyman and co. So, instead of looking what size engine the car has and gauging fuel consumption on that, they decide to give cars labels like washing machines and fridges? How stupid are they? It doesnt take much to think 'bigger engine = generally thirstier and more emissions'. Instead they give us an alphabet. Fantastic.
  21. Seems pretty good. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...7983201476&rd=1
  22. My pics: Here Hopefully i'll have some footage soon once I can work out how to work my camcorder!
  23. I decided to change from shorts at the last minute, boy am I glad I did! You must have been walking on stumps of ice by the end of the day! Thanks to Oli for all the organising he did, it turned out pretty good. Shame the event organisers couldn't get their s :tsktsk: t together very well though. It was great to meet you all, and It certainly won't be my last meet! :D
  24. 8:30 for me, maybe a bit earlier depending on how long it takes me to do the distance. Im also taking my digital camera and my new digital camcorder - hopefully i'll be getting some good footage! :D
