  1. I think he has a GS ;) Hi all, Yup I've got the same issue. There is a grinding noise when I turn left on the drivers side front wheel. It tsounds like the pads scrapping on the discs. I changed absolutley everything possible on the front wheels i.e pads, clips and discs. The noise was still there, I then took it to a mates garage, he called his friend who was an x employee for Lexus who now works for a company called Gem, I think its Gemca's (Toyota's) service side (lots of jap cars there). Anyway I told him where the noise was coming from and told him what I replaced. His first question them was have the ball joints ever been changed . I answered never, and he said that's the issue. He also advised me that Lexus change them as part of their service every 40,000 miles, as those joints take alot of load etc.. when turning. Anyway he has ordered the part for me, both ball joints (left, right) as I might as well replace both. My mate will put them on next week.
  2. All the joints and connections were checked. It must be the brake clips that have been placed incorrecly, as the idiot who did them took them all off, rather than one by one replacing each one. Dough.
  3. Hi all, I have a bit of an issue, The front brakes (driver side) is making a noise only when I turn left. Best described as scraping sound. Here's the best bit, I have replaced :- 1. Brake pad Carriers 2. Brake pad retaining clips 3. Brake pads 4. DISCS :tsktsk: The only thing I can now think of is that the brake pad clips were not put on correctly. I.E inside pad clips are on the outside pad etc. Has anyone got pics of which clips for the pad holders go where? Your suggestions and help would be much appreciated.
  4. Hi, I think these are the alloys for the IS200 S model 2004 - onwards spec. They might also be 16".
  5. You can get a caliper fixing kit form Lexus, cost is approx £50. better than paying £200 pounds + for the caliper.
  6. Hi, have just checked the light again, after drying it out. Noticed that there was water lodged where the indicator lense is right at the edge half way up the light, more damp than acutal water present. When i press that edge I can see water is slightly trapped there. I think this is where its coming in from, would sealing with silicone do the trick.
  7. Hi, It rained today and when I checked the car i saw the light with condensation. First time its happened, I normally get the car washed every week and never sawe this on the lights until today. Like I said no cracks etc.. So how did it happen all of a sudden.
  8. Breather flap, where is that located? TKS
  9. Hi all, I have condensation on my front light. Cannot see any cracks on the front lense, guess I'll have to take the light out and seal the back. Will super glue do the tirck or is there a special substance to use? Your help will be much appreciated.
  10. Hi all, Can anyone tell me which brake pads are good for low brake dust and at a resonable price. Preferably cheaper than the origional lexus ones. Cheers. :) Forgot to mention front pads.

  12. Hi everyone, I have a really bugging noise with my car, it sounds like the alternator belt being loose but quieter. When I press the clutch down it goes away. I had the complete clutch replaced 18 months ago and have done 25K on it since the replacement. Is this noise the release bearing, or is it the flywheel. When the cars idle I cannot hear the bearing, just this whinning noise. I then press the clutch and release, the noise is then gone and comes back again after reving. Any ideas what it could be, your help would be much appreciated. Rgds Dino
  13. Unfortunatley, i'm at work from today till Sunday. i will hopefully post some pics on Monday, of both the old and new.
  14. Hi, I have put the bumper on, and what a difference it makes to the car, looks mean. I won the bumper off ebay at £235, brand new, never been fitted as the guy sold his IS200. And guess what the bumper is new with all the fittings including wash jet, hoses etc.. and extra clips incase I brake a few, which I did. Took an hour to put it on and the colour matches exactly as it was factory painted. What a bargain.
  15. Yes I am looking to sell it, I will put the picture tomorrow hopefully. What sort of price? Thanksmate, why do I need to undo the headlight screws under the arches to remove the bumper?
  16. 1CO silver with a sports grill. The passenger side of the bumper has what looks likes scratches but its the paint behind the lacquer thats cracked due to a touch by someone. You can only see it close up.
  17. Hi, Can anyone help me, how do i take off the standard IS200 bumper, is it easy, as I have TTE bumper to put on. :duh:
  18. Hi, I've checked the club store, and I'm not sure on what quantity to order. Do I order 1 or 4? and do I get the back decals with the circular logo? and will the logos be for left and right so they are facing correctly on the caliper? Order 1 set. Everything is in there mate. For rears just cut the L logo off :winky: Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
