  1. Sounds like the pads are moving in the carrier. To resolve this you need to put a grease on, not the usuall copper grease, but a white grease, which looks like colgate and is thicker. Put the grease in the clips that hold the pads, as well as the end of the pads. You can get the grease from Toyota, come is a tube. I may be wrong with your car, but this is a common issue.

  3. Hi all, It is the time again to clean the throttle body, which improves response. Just wondering has anyone taken the whole throttle body out, to give it a proper clean, if so how is it done, is it hard, not worth the hassel?
  4. Thanks mate, will give it a go tonight.
  5. Anyone had this issue, or knows what to do?
  6. Hi all, I replaced the batteries in two of the keys. One was used everyday, which was replaced fine and works, the other key had the batteries run out aout a year ago, never got round to replacing them, until now. The problem is that the key does not work. Does the key require programming, as it has been sitting for a year dead. Or are there a few simple steps to get it working again? Your help would be much appreciated.
  7. Just phoned my local Halfords and they stock the CR1616 batteries. Will pick them up tomorrow.
  8. Thanks for the info mate. Friend of mine just told me he got his Ford battery from Halfords. Seeing as Halfords is opposite the Lexus dealer, I will try that first. Thanks again for the part no.
  9. Hello all, The battery in the key has finished, just about managed to lock the doors after a while. Just wondering where the best place is to buy the batteries, as the 2nd key's battery also requires replacing, the third key is fine. Can you buy the batteries from, say Halford etc.. Do I need to reprogram the keys as the battery has failed. Your help would be much appreciated. Rgds Dino.
  10. Thanks I know that, just wondering if the research was already doen for a good one. Saves me the time to find a reciever with more than 30 channels with srfIII chipset with reviews on the product.
  11. Hi all, Can anyone recommend what GPS reciver to buy for my phone, which has Tom Tom 6 loaded.
  12. I would say its worth £8000 - £8500, depending on the condition. Lexus would normally under quote to make £1000 - £1500 profit.
  13. Hi people, A friend of mine is about to buy an Alteeza (beams engine). He will join the Alteeza forum and this forum soon, but was wondering what oil grade to use that can increase the oil pressure to the optimum. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
  14. Thanks fellas, for the honest replies. You guys are really full of information, brilliant forum, with brilliant people with the know how, you geeks, just kidding, thanks to all again. you saved me from making a bad mistake. Just hope that one day I can afford the proper supercharger, when one comes up of course, they are so rare and hard to get hold of. Just wish I invested in one a while back when they were going for £1800, I think from prolex, maybe wrong, it was a while back, damn.
  15. Hi all, Saw a electric supercharger which is a unversal bolt on on Ebay, item no. 320213529561. Gains of 20bhp anyone got one of these or tried it. Currently being sold for £80, half price offer.
  16. i paid £93 from tyrewise for approx 2.5 years I had the Dunlop SP9000L, and they were brilliant, never let me down, and gave me 35K on them. Thanks to Dr Tony Bones of course as well. The tyre was made in Japan and had a big lip round the edge. This made the alloy sit more further back and saved me quite a few times from damaging the refurbed alloys. Anyway 8 months ago I needed to replace the back tryes (after 35k). I could not find the same tyre anywhere as it was discontinued, I was gutted as many of my friends commented on how the tyre looked on the alloy, and trust me I searched, my friend owns a garage who got them for me last time at cost of 80 each all in. Anyway he found the new replacement, which has not got the big lip, gutted as I loved the look of the tyre, those who have had them on will know what I mean.
  17. Will get 2.5k, according to my end of year review I had. Not a bad year, but there are other employees who get 10-15k and they are just employees.
  18. Mate, You will need to seal the bulb holders. i had the same issue, light was misting up bad, made it worse by placing a hair dryer too close to the bulb holder sockets. Found out after numerous attempts what the issue was. Seal the side light holder properly.
  19. Never had an issue with mine, even when taking bends faster.
  20. Hi all, My drop in air filter is dirty and requires a clean. I spoke to a chap in Jap-parts, who advised me you can clean the filter with normal soap, let it completely dry and oil. You can oil the filter with red transmission fluid. Is he winding me up or is this ok to do? Your thoughts would be appreciated, cheers.
  21. My mate said the battery life on the N95 is dismal, although he does play with it quite a bit.
  22. Hi it could be that the caliper has seized. The front is a two pot caliper and one of them could be seized, hence the warping. And yes replace the pads and rotors, once the issue has been rectified. How do i tell if the caliper is seized? After going for a test drive I noticed that one caliper is slightly hotter than the other, is that because of the rotor or a seized caliper? I would say if one rotor is hot than the other and there is more brake dust on the alloy, compared to the other side, you have a seized caliper. Its a fairly common issue.
  23. Hi I get 350-380 miles on a full tank (ubran). I also have a IS200 sport. Not sure about the traction light not coming on when you take the traction off. Might just be a bulb.
