  1. Welcome to the club. How about trying nitrous on the N/A engine, it would give similar power to the S/C at a fraction of the cost - good for short term boosts of performance.
  2. Hmm, assumed it would be a carpark not a normal road with oncoming traffic, that is completely nuts.
  3. You can actually do the whole lot without removing anything - although you won't ever return the car to standard afterwards.
  4. Will it be released in time for JAE? :winky:
  5. Yeah, I think the fixed penalty was lucky, police man was saying that normally if you are more than 20 over the limit its off to court. + point was he didn't mention the ProLex HIDs so no problem there it seems. Busterds :tsktsk: ...I almost got caught there earlier as well, but for some reason I was within the speed limit (good place to rip it though ) Wait till it comes and it's officially on your licence :) ←
  6. Police speed gun on road from Excel to City Airport (coming back to Docklands). Fixed penalty, 3 points, £60 fine - licence on its way to DVLA to get points put on - does that mean when it comes back tell the insurance?
  7. Got caught speeding yesterday (first time ever). Do I need to tell insurance company? Or can that wait till renew?
  8. I have the same problem, keys just stopped working. Took it to a dealer who tried to reprogram ECU which they said failed, charge would be around £1000 for new ECU + locks. Decided to keep locking it on key.
  9. Thanks for the tip, will try this tonight. Hardly worth having locking nuts if this works! yep colin - i passed ur mesage on! ←
  10. Searched all weekend and am 100% sure I've lost the key that comes with these nuts - any idea how to get them off since the front pads are almost totally gone and need replacing.
  11. got them from the toms-trd shop in hong kong (i'm on holiday here at the moment - coming back tomorrow). yep, still want to do the covers just been mad busy at work! and now lazing around in Asia!
  12. Bought the new (blue tint) JDM front lights today, got the ProLex HID kit a while back - think this is going to be too blue and cause police problems?
  13. Anyone know the address of the Toms & TRD shop in HongKong? Will be taking a Taxi there so something I can give a taxi driver would be good! Thanks
  14. Adjusting the belts is a two person job I think, last time I had them adjusted was at TDi - haven't slipped for 9 months. TDi used a special tool they have to get the adjuster as tight as possible (think its called a crowbar but mark can confirm that!). Also, make sure you've got the belt on the right part of the pulley, I don't know if its just me but the S/C pulley on my car has more grooves than the belt with the belt on the wrong set of grooves it was pulling down too much on the S/C and causing lots of slippage.
  15. Just arrived in hong kong for 2 week holiday. Any suggestions on good places to buy bits for the IS?
  16. Black IS200, Supercharger at BlueWater today around 4pm - anyone here?
  17. HKS hiper dampers HKS anti-roll bars Cusco strut braces
  18. 8.5 +37 on front I'm not so sure. This post on is300.net has some useful info and pics... 19 x 8.5 +45 front, 19 x 9.5 +45 rear. With +37 you'll be 8mm further out than the IS in these pics.... http://www.is300.net/forums/showthread.php?t=210167 Compared to standard http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html, standard is 7 +45mm, 8.5 +37mm. Over current settings this will be 11mm less clearance on inside (fine), 27mm less on outside - not so sure about this, 27mm is a lot on the front.
  19. I have 18 x 8 +37 on the front - fits fine (225 x 40 x 18). 18 x 8.5 +41 on the rear (245 x 40 x 18). The front is fine, the rear rubs slightly, rolling the rear arches will fix the back. Lower offset will stick out more so you will rub arches at some point - this is easier to fix that rubbing on the suspension, brakes etc... When trying wheels on my car the garage had 19 x 10 +55 on the back, this clears the arch without tyres but would have needed a bit of work with fat tyres on. My car is lowered although not sure how much, its about half of maximum drop on HKS Hiper Dampers.
  20. How can the engine light not come on when the engine has blown up?
  21. Just under 20K miles with the stage 1 (0.5bar), most of that at full throttel :D
  22. Got my pass in the post yesterday, thanks to claire for organising this. So, how many people taking cars up the strip?
  23. All stage 1 owners are now searching for wood to touch with this comment, fortunately my desk at work is wood some I'm alright.....
  24. yep, and the wax, and polish, etc.... took bloomin ages, need to do it again too
