I'm a bit concerned about this and would like to know more please Course threads normally have a "loose" feel to them especialy when the material is aluminium which has a nasty habit of seizing when coupled together. If there is excessive "play" on the HKS sandwich plate out of the box then it should be returned to the vendor for checking. If the kit works out to be around £300 and you are working to a budget then go for it, but don't tell me it's the same quality as the top stuff. BTW, the way the pipes have been installed is a time bomb waiting to go off. The metal braiding WILL saw through the peripheral components that they are rubbing against :o Mark, I'll let you see the sandwich plate when I'm next in. I got it only as a means to move the project on if the company (trading for 37 years BTW) could not do the sandwich plate. The pics posted were during the trial fitment and more will be posted now Neil is fully recovered and driving round with it fitted. When I asked them to do me a kit I didnt say I want it for £x I just said I want an oil cooler kit for an IS200. They did the work came back with a price I then decided if it was competitive or not........If they'd have come back with a £400 ish price I would not have bothered and taken the loss on one of my chins . Duncan ---- Kieran is getting a kit and he has a oil temp guage I'll ask him what the readinfs are post fitment. Interstingly he got a drop in temp just from fitting a TRD c/f grill !! In the summer I've been getting around 105 - 110, on a motorway drive to Silverstone 3 weeks ago it set around 95 - 100 all the way, after the TRD grille it was more like 80 - 85 (same weather), still hot in traffic and hot weather though (105 - 110). Hoping the oil cooler will drop back to a sensible 80 - 85.

Is your car supercharged? If so you could go for the NX intercooler spray + purge, its cheap and you've then got the bottle and lots of other things in place, then later get the Wizards of NOS solenoids and progressive controller, etc..

Dealer claim an encryption key is shared between the locks in the door and the central locking unit. Don't think this is true.

I have the same problem with my car, dealer tried to reprogram keys but didn't help, claim to need new central locking unit + locks in all doors (~£1000). Putting up with locking on key and button on door at the moment, if you find a solution let me know.

These are the guys that I was referring to in the post about the new stainless steel manifold for the IS200. I believe they are still looking for a guinea pig for this, speak to Alan if you're interested. One of their directors has a supercharged IS200 - not sure if he's a club member tho. The IS200 they are doing will be powered by a Tomei built race engine, based on the S14 from the 200 SX. I doubt it will develop as much power as Mat's 2JZ-GTE lump. And like Mat said at least it's made by Toyota! PS. Any news on the IS430???!!! :D :P Does anyone know if this project is finished or is close yet? Sounds like an interesting project and should be a lot easier to do than the monster. It would be nice if the pair of them could get to JAE this year - that would cheer up the LOC stand somewhat :D Yes, I was speaking to the guy from Nemesis that was doing the conversion. It was up and running but they S14 engine was too high and would have meant changing the bonnet when they wanted to keep the standard lines. They have therefore removed the S14 engine and are halfway through putting an RX7 engine in its place.

i'm not so sure, the first incarnation of the monster will have less power, more weight and only 2wd. (could be wrong with these details). if this is the case its got no chance against that corolla

Did you also have the B & M Quickshift fitted Dark? i have the Quickshift and uprated Clutch, and not sure which is causing this problem, as it never happen before till today, is there a way to sort it out matey? i've always had this problem since the upgrades, hasn't been affected by sports clutch or b&m shifter - still has the same problem. only happens if the car is really hot, so hot weather, long drive. worst was at JAE last year, got to lexus pitch, turned across road about to reverse and was then like. hmm, too hot, no reverse! took about a minute to get the damn thing in reverse.

When you say it's the extra heat build up do you mean from the hot day or do you mean the extra heat from the charger?? extra heat from the supercharger, combined with hot weather does it for my car. although i've got different exhaust manifolds which compound the problem.

I have the same problem, its the extra heat build-up, makes the master cylinder too hot, overheats the fluid and ends up so the clutch won't disengage properly. Happens mainly in the summer or after long drives.

Not stupid, i'd take the RX8 over the IS any day.
