  9. I am VERY happy with my recent mod. Yes you guessed it, TTE Coilovers :) I've finally managed to lower my IS200 on some TTE Coilovers. They were very nicely packaged, and delivered to my workshop directly from Belgium :) The shocks were painted a very nice red, with the mounts an aluminium silver. Very nice to look at, even when not fitted, hehehe Saturday morning, i took 2 hours out of my day to swap over my stock suspension with the new kit. It retains the OEM top mounts and as expected was a hassle free, perfect fit. I've taken it out for a spin and the difference was AMAZING :o i just love it! The stiffer ride was exactly what i was looking for, and the kit has delivered. I've attached a small pic of the car at 9am in the morning then later again at 11:30. You can see an instant difference, and that's without the TTE springs being given a chance to settle to the lower height. Only one slight problem :( the passenger side shock absorber is faulty, and is making a very loud knocking rattling noise at low speeds over crooked bumpy roads. Will be getting in a replacement as soon as possible. Other then that... i'm more than impressed, and very very happy :D I'd recommend it to everyone.
  10. I've just had a set of the all new HKS Hipermax RS coilovers fitted :D HKS Hipermax RS I'm a very happy chappie ;) The adjustable dampening is set to the initial setting (30% stiffness) and the ride is simply superb, firm without being uncomfortable, handling is totally solid and very responsive indeed. And an added bonus........no knocking, tappinq, squeaking SILENCE Had them fitted by UPAuto, who are currently undertaking a Soarer GT-T 500bhp conversion! UPAuto
  12. Wassup and Merry XMas!!! I saw this listing at Titan Motorsports. It's advertised for the IS300, but I am wondering if it is compatible with my AS200. Is it?
  13. Hi! I have a Lexus IS 200 with a coiloverset from Bilstein which is mounted from TTE. When the mechanic tried to raise the bavk coilovers he destroyed the threads. So now I have two broken coilovers. Does anyone now where I van get a new set of coilovers. I allready now that TTE have a set but they cost about 400 Euro a piece. I need help!!! Used or new, it doesn´t matter. IS 200 or 300. Kristoffer, Sweden
  14. Hi guys, Just had a geometry check at Drury Lane and had my rear coilovers adjusted based on the advice given by Neil (MacRS200) . Good news and bad news really. The knocking has still not been sorted- in fact I'd say its probably slightly worse then it was before but I think I know why. After I collected the car I was abit depressed that the knocking hadn't been sorted (sorry for the depressed PM Neil - I take part of that back after giving the car some welly ;)) but after work the roads were clear so I took it for a more "enthusiastic" drive and all I can say is WOW! Feels glued to the road and even Paul at Drury Lane said that my car has been stiffened up so much that its like a go-kart! You really have the confidence to "stick" the car into corners (Clarkson impresson over :P ) I attach the geometry report but from what I can see it looks good - probably the best report I've had. The KPI has always been out by atleast 2 degrees on my car this time its much better as is everything else. :D JUST WISH IT WOULD STOP KNOCKING AND I'LL BE HAPPY! :zee: Would also like to thank Paul and also Tim at Drury Lane for great service and attention to detail. Drury Lane now also have a website where Lexus and Wheels-in-motion are mentioned alot Please take alook and let me know what you think of the site - I told Paul I would get the opinions of the LOC members ;) (Not made by me so be honest! :P) EDIT: Just spotted it doesn't seem to work properly on Mozilla) Website: http://www.drurylaneservices.com Thanks, Anees
  15. Hi Guys, Yesterday I had fitted Imi's Apexi coilovers at a sort of mini meet at Charlesworth Motors with Gord, Imi, Joe Higgy and myself in attendance. Aido was supposed to come but his car wasn't ready. We (Steve) had trouble adjusting the coilovers because since they had been off Imi's car for a while the adjustments had seized! But lots of elbow grease and WD40 got them moving again. Once fitted alot of my fears about coilovers were put to rest! I was concerned about a hard ride! Boy was I wrong! They were much smoother then the Eibach springs I replaced. Infact I found them slightly soft on the half-way dampenning setting! Think I've become used to the hard(ish) ride of the Eibachs. Handling wise I have chasis braces and TTE AntiRollbars and was previously lowered 30mm on the Eibach springs so I wasn't expecting a massive improvement. Well what can I say. They are great! Got alot more confidence cornering (nearly frightened Imi ) and the car feels much better to drive. I used to have a few vibrations from the steering wheel here and there and they have all gone. On the way home I took a left turn at an (empty!) roundabout at almost 60mph! Hardly any bodyroll. My car was only lowered 30mm so it looks like it did before! Imi had his put to the ground almost on his HKS Coilovers which were alos fitted today- using Aidos car as a guide. It was low and looked really nice! Made mine look like a 4X4!! Everything may sound great but we did have a problem. The car is knocking at the rear. It is mainly from the rear right coilover but sometimes it happens on the left too. If we changed the dampenning settings it seems to have an effect on the noise. Its like a "knock, Knock" noise. (sorry not very descriptive I know!) Gord and Imi will probably have better descriptions. Steve checked the car and says it isn't bottomming out, nor is it topping out so I hope their is nothing wrong with the actual coilover Not sure where I would stand regarding a replacement. Would also like a special mention to Joe "Snake Hips" Higgy for the excellent entertainment. Don't think I've laughed so much in ages! Joe and Aido would make a great comedy partnership! He absolutely took the mick out of everyone ruthlessly. I felt like I had gone deaf when he left! If I can get this knocking sorted then I will be more then happy with my purchase! Anees
  16. Hi, I am having Apexi N1 V Coilovers fitted on Saturday :D :D and from what I have read the Apexis are a pain in the backside to setup properly so they don't knock. Thanks for the advice from Neil, Mike, Paul and Am over the past few months regarding these coilovers. I was just hoping for some advice that I can give to the fitter (Steve at Charlesworth Motors) so that it makes his job easier. I have read Neil's (MacRS200) thread on how he fixed the knocking and I do not really understand it properly. I have printed it out and will send it to Steve before hand so he gets a chance to read it but its 17 pages printed and I doubt he is going to have time to read all that! http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=25192 I was just after some basic advice so that he can understand how to adjust them properly. I will print this thread out and also take it with me on Saturday (did I mention the garage was a reading club too ) I'm sure the diagrams will be very useful. I do not really want to lower the car more then it is now initially. It is - 30mm all round at the moment so I just want to keep it that way for now. (VERY OLD PIC ) Hopefully the coilovers should stop my issues where if I have too much weight in the back the ride height gets really low and the bottom can scrape http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=24839&hl= The coilovers should handle the weight much better and I'd like the ride height set :D What about dampening adjustment? I know the Apexi's have 13 points of dampenig adjustment and I will definetly be going towards the "soft" settings - maybe softest if possible. Any advice to make Steve's job easier is appreciated. :D Thanks, Anees
  17. Following on from last week I decided to have a go at finding out exactly what was going on with my coilovers. Started with the rears, Measured the arch to wheel centre and then jacked the car up and measured again and found that the distance had increased by 10mm. Next I measured the spring length and then slackened off the spring seat fully and measured the spring “free” length. The spring was compressed by 20mm so the weight of the car compresses the spring 30mm and with that setting I only had 10mm of strut extension before the suspension “topped out”. Next I measured the distance between the “bump stop” and the top of the damper cylinder (damper fully extended), this distance was 90mm, then I put a jack under the wishbone and lifted it till the wishbone was almost contacting the car body, total movement equalled 60mm. Decided that I would then screw up the spring seat till it contacted the spring and compressed the spring slightly so that my figuring the car would then sit with 30mm of available upward travel before “topping out” instead of 10mm and 60mm downward before “bottoming out”. I also extended the entire strut by 20mm to compensate for the drop caused by the lowering of the spring seat to give the same ride height. Put the wheel back on, off the jack and the car sat very nearly at the same height as it was when I started. Duplicated the settings on the other side e.g. spring length and strut length and off for a drive. Result, knocking gone, plus I had a creak coming from the body at the rear which I reckoned was down to the chassis twisting, that’s gone too. Sunday did the same routine on the fronts but found that the travel down was short so repeated the same set up routine to lift the car up on the spring and shorten the strut to compensate. Still got a very slight knock off the O/S/F but it is miles better than it was before. Conclusion: The knocking from the back was the suspension “topping out”, also the lack of available downward travel for the wheel was causing the chassis to twist. The front was the suspension getting near to “bottoming out” again causing a knock.
  18. Ok i've been lookin around the site and searching but just feel more confused!! So a direct answer from your experience and recommendations from all IS200SE owners would be great! I'm after a set of new discs front and back with pads and was thinking Brembo? As for coilovers i don't want to spend loads (who does!) but i want a good kit for good money so again recommendations? Thanx!
  19. I've put this in the Non car section as my mate has asked me to ask you guys about some coilovers for his NON Lexus car. (As there is such a wealth of knowledge on here about coilovers) He owns a mk4 Supra and has lowered it by 25mm with eibach springs. He's seen some front coilovers on ebay Link and was wondering if they're any good? Also could he still run the eibachs on the back ? Thanks Guys
  20. Just spotted these on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=7988267804 Anybody know anything about it? Was tempted at the price but looks abit fishy to me Thanks
  21. Hello! I just buyed my IS200 and I'm asking what feedback has this coils in UK, since I'm dealer of KW... :winky:
  22. Hi, I have tein super street dampers fitted. I had them lowered by my local fitting centre when i had them fitted. They adjusted as low for it to be legal. I was wondering how easy they are to adjust lower by yourself. I've tried taking the wheel off and using the C-spanners but were difficult to turn! Also, I noticed the grooves on the dampers had loadsa dirt and grease all over the place. Should I be cleaning the whole damper first or just try turning the spanners?
  23. Found these whilst browsing. Any good to anyone
  24. Apexi NI V's now fitted to the Tezza and lowered just a bit :D some piccies: - Some shots before Front Before Back Before After Front After Back After And a kind of arty one :D
