  2. Add a roof rack on. Then call them and tell them to assign you to the large vehicle carriage. I did the same last week and no issues. Follow signs to large vehicles AFTER flexiplus lounge.
  3. Quite surprised to hear that amayama is more expensive than lexus. Anyway im sure if you search the part number in google and scour the internet you will come across deals to be had. Here is one example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355620279628?itmmeta=01J09RH1D2QBNJEWYP8QDK0SFN&hash=item52cc9ed54c:g:~ZYAAOSwqZJmFZrl&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8EFJNTib%2B7wOpRNianwN8qrtZFnC2j2%2B759ApwO6fWx18mFdLcrvblfJeB5YOuwh12jQQxWPvGvfTe9LLHcxPUkWipuS3luU3cQ8yo9enlm5rqHsGORDyuxnsJz%2Fa%2B5%2F31BCBlqfEnBD4%2FeZU9DSI2%2BBrh1SBA1ULQuFLs0gKv2RQWXTVBvirPmAdOwiWi8FiZEcBeHPwrqSKq%2FscQ3T3Pe1VAmXsnxH4D7DdAOsW0sAt6ftK%2Bla%2BqMudAFw0Ua8svCuZb6rxZV0J%2B%2F6vTVQe%2FCKpbl74Lh%2BLe0CmjMJGY3lrlGqfBYB5OuHe3kh1wtxxw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8yWxLiCZA
  4. Here are some additional photos of the two LC's at Crossbasket. (taken June 2024)
  5. Hey Lexus family, Lexus Glasgow recently invited me to their drive event at Crossbasket Castle Hotel. It was a great opportunity to be around the LBX and new UX 300h! They brought along their LC 500 black edition (aka inspiration series/bespoke build). I parked beside it upfront and it was a great opportunity to have a hybrid and the V8 side by side. I will note that out with seeing a green LC at the dealership last year, I haven't seen another LC in Scotland whilst being in my LC (even to grab a pic). If you had to choose, are you going for an all black V8 or a white launch edition (with the tri colour interior) - promise not to get offended if you don't choose my car. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy these Lexus LC pics and if you owners have any recent LC pics of your own rides. Please feel free to share below as I love seeing the various colour combinations on our cars! Thanks, Thomas CarsofGlasgow
  6. Thanks Lent ;) Just been on 60ml journey and to no effect. Unfortunately my model does not have that reset button so no hope for me there. Will have to take it back to the garage and see what they can further do. They said the only other option is to swap tge sensors for the Lexus brand. Will let you know the result FYI;)
  7. BTW triangles have now been replaced (in Spain) by a magnetic flashing yellow / orange light. Same as those who have them fitted in the UK who never turn them off regardless of what they are doing. (Just saying)
  8. I have seen a handful in my life, a person in my neighbourhood has actually recently purchased a 2024 Model LC in sonic titanium. I am yet to see another LC whilst I am in my LC (in the wild)
  9. Kudos on remembering the high viz jackets and triangle – safety first, always. And yup, that UK sticker is a post-Brexit must, but fear not, go for the magnetic one to keep your LC conv's paintwork pristine. Now, about those headlights – it's wise to check if they're adjustable for driving on the right side of the road. It's a small adjustment but makes a big difference in visibility.Oh, and if you're still on the lookout for travel tips, I recently stumbled upon some handy hacks for nabbing cheap business class tickets. Trust me, it's a game-changer for making those long-haul flights a breeze.
  10. Was your IS an F Sport? They consume more fuel because of large wheels and aero drag. What tyres are on the vehicle, they might be less efficient ones than standard. After a drive, put your hands near each wheel to detect any excessive heat that would indicate a brake not releasing correctly.
  11. On the whole, I feel so spoilt by the size, comfort and power of the GS. I will struggle to change to anything smaller. Thank you, never heard of Amayama. I've just had a look on there for 2007 GS 450H SE-L A shock absorbers and they are £483 each. Interestingly they are £407 on Lexuspartsdirect, so £300 cheaper. I am not sure if the support assembly and/or springs would be needed. Still, it is worth knowing for future reference as I am sure there would be cheaper things on there. Hopefully, I won't need to be searching for more parts or spending more money after this. @cruisermark thank you. I've had a look and I think I will get the Gold £1200 option. In the immediate period, I will reset the fault tomorrow morning and if it comes back again, it would be straight to Hybridsolutions. I will get in touch with him to understand how long it takes as Northampton is about 3 hours away from me.
  12. Hello, I've just bought a late 2016 GS 300h F-Sport, after driving an IS 300h for more than a year. Its fuel consumption for the first 300+ km has been 8.8l/km, with AC on, mostly non-urban. This is a far cry from my 6.8 in the IS. I've looked at the stats on the main screen for previous runs and they were averaging the same values, lowest was 5.5, highest 8.9. The car has sat for a bit (1-2 months, maybe more, I don't know). Can I expect this to come down to normal values? Any ideas what the cause might be? It runs into hybrid mode just about fine, and it has passed the hybrid battery test this week... Thank you!
  13. very nice, I just watched this tonight
  14. With respect I think a failing 12volt battery could affect the engine as the dropping voltage will mean that instead of running on the electric motors around town, the engine will be instructed to keep topping up the battery. This seemed to happen not on my Lexus but my wife's Toyota Yaris Hybrid which has a very similar drive train albeit with only one electric motor. When we first got this car it seemed to be revving all the time, when stationary, and the fuel economy was down a little. Once I spotted the battery voltage was down and I had to jump start it once, I installed a new 12 volt battery (Yuasa AGM £130ouch!) and the car suddenly worked better. Better economy and more running on the electric motor. Very economical in fact - now always above 60mpg and usually around 64-66. Not sure if this would apply to a Lexus Hybrid but the principle is similar. The correct 12v battery to put in my 400h is tricky as the space is not large and the terminals as fitted are the smaller Japanese type. I would really like to put in a 60ah battery if I could fit it in to give a better reserve of 12V energy. I have got on OK with the Bosch S4022 which is 45aH but the resting voltage is only 12.1volts so I think its days are numbered.
  15. Have a look here for costs and levels of service offered by Richard at Hybrid battery Solutions: hybridbatterysolutions.co.uk
  16. I have found that for the lock button on the tailgate to work properly you have to press the button and walk away, not just step away. The release button inside the car needs a long press. Also make sure the keys are well inside the car. Having them in your pocket if trying to use the release button whilst stood by the door will always be very hit & miss
  17. Yeah try that. And i totally understand. Its getting harder and harder to choose which car to buy with companies these days primarily offering SUVs and arguably not as well made as older cars. If you're happy with the car and plan to keep it for the next 5-6 years then spending ~3k on it makes sense. Thing to note is that £600 will only get you a replacement cell. I think most battery repair places also offer a reconditioning of the remaining cells for ~1200 or so. I believe they run it on some machine to get rid of the deposits that form inside that reduce the battery life e.g on a normal lead acid battery sulfation is what kills it and some machines can boil off these deposits. I feel like its something similar that they do for the NiMH batteries to kind of restore them to get the best performance. Maybe speak to one of these places and get a quote as this might make sense vs replacing 1 cell only to find out a year later that another one has conked off. Also on the shocks consider ordering them from amayama or other places where you can get original parts cheaper and fit them at a local indie that will save you a ton of cash as in my experience the cost of parts at lexus is sometimes double or even 3x the price of what you can expect to pay elsewhere.
  18. Just so I’ve got it right… you can have your android on screen, with audio playing out of the USB, and e.g. directions and voice prompts from e.g. Waze is all fine and via USB? Do you control the music from android too? Thanks again
  19. Exactly John. I don't believe it either. Not for a single second. They've clearly seen the post 2006 for petrol cars general guidance and taken that as enshrined in stone. No critical thinking, just double down regardless which, seems to be the way of the modern Western world doesn't it? But then all the ULEZ schemes are complete bull for me; they made up the 'science' to justify the schemes so why stop there!?! What a time to be alive eh?
  20. I like his stuff too! I actually watched his previous LC video and Savage Geese so many times!
  21. Savage Geese do great videos, have you also seen 'Shooting Cars'? Zac is out in the MidWest of the States and gets the same press cars. He reviewed the same LC 500 cabrio recently too.
  22. I would agree with Len and vote for Michelin CrossClimate 2. For UK weather these are just the best all-year-round tyres. Note to self: stay away from "sport" tyres on cars that are meant to be driven in peace. All the sport tyres I've had on different cars they all have been just too hard for comfort even in 20+degrees weather, which was becoming much more noticeable with temperatures dropping under 10. I've recently replaced the "sport" tyres on my wife's Velar with CrossClimate 2, maaan, that's a different car now! The rubber stays soft at near 0 temperatures. It handles just as good and the road/tyre noise seems to be lower and further in distance too. The tyres on my ES still have got some 5-7K miles in them, will go for CrossClimate 2 fore sure.
  23. Yeah mine is really strange, seems to be leaking through the thread of the lower LH nut/bolt. I am not touching it or investigating any further so it is obvious to the Lexus technician where the leak and therefore problem is. Hopefully they replace the whole pump and not just the seal otherwise when the bearing goes will need to replace it then anyway.
  24. My experience is that it's a bit fickle, even allowing for the built-in safety mechanisms. From the outside, whether using the button or the kick sensor, you do need to step back to give the boot room to open without hitting you. For the kick sensor, kicking in and out works better than side to side. If closing and locking using the button on the tailgate, you do, again, need to step away. I can't achieve this all the time, yet! I rarely get anywhere using the fob. Make sure you are in Park if using the button inside the car.
  25. So when the button is pressed the wipers ‘wipe’ but the pump doesn’t run, is that correct?
