I have a set, the problem is removing them without damage. That said I am not sure the rubber part at the bottom is in good shape on mine, will need to confirm if interested.

When it comes to MOT - it is hit and miss, some testers will point it out, others will ignore it. The replacement will be expensive if you looking to replace all the lines to the original ones. That said most of the time it is only the flex lines that needs to be replaced, have seen quite rusty cars (particularly GS300), but never seen Lexus of this generation which had actual hardlines rusted to the point of needing the replacement. Again it is usually the part which is in the wheel well and it is the bracket or the nut that is rusted, or it is covered in rusted brake dust, but it is not the lines themselves that are rusted. But as Lucas said - these are soon to be 20 years old cars, metal rust, so with time rust will become an issue.

Picked up the 450 yesterday; total fail with the MA1 😞

We've only had our LBX for a few days (first Lexus). Whilst we're really enjoying it there seems to be an issue with the SatNav: it doesn't appear to know about the London congestion zone. Even with "Avoid toll roads" checked it is still routing us through the zone. Am I missing something obvious, or is this a real issue? Also, I tried to update the map and I get "Problem with map update. Please contact your dealer".

David hi and welcome to this forum …….. which battery did Roy use ? He’d have investigated it thoroughly and chosen well ……. that might be the way to go ! Assuming he’d replaced it at some stage I don’t have any answer for you sorry, someone will here …… Malc

Damn I'm old, I keep forgetting this car is older than it looks. Anyone ever had a brake line job on an IS250? Looking to see how much it would cost just in case. I was once quoted £500 just for 1 brake line on an old 2003 Mercedes C220 and that was 2-3 years ago

Hello Peeps, Do you reckon its a good idea to connect to the obd port and access the car controls? For example I would like to have remote full closure of the windows.

It's not common, but it's becoming common. It's almost 20 years old.

Good write up, thank you. I really like mine too although I’m interested in the 300h because it has the new Mk5 powertrain in it. I’ll be having one of those on extended test soon. I haven’t really got much to criticise mine for. I agree the leather seats aren’t as durable as the nulux version and they aren’t as comfortable either. I don’t understand why they insist on using over bolstered seats in the luxury versions when they can fit bolstered seats in the F Sport models. I changed my tyres for all season and they’re a bit on the noisy side but although the Michelins are quiet, they’re a summer tyre which is no good where I live.

Hi, would be grateful for a bit of advice. I own the GS450H that was previously owned by "Royoftherovers" I've recently changed the 12v battery to a non lexus battery. Since then the "check hybrid system " fault is showing. Just had it serviced at lexus and the fault code was PO517 Battery temperature sensor circuit high. They told me I need to have a lexus battery fitted (only £459!!!) From what I've read from this thread this is not the case. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. I also got 39mpg on a 25 mile journey on the next refill, which was mixed driving at about 55mph overall. However, in the interests of fairness, the return 120 mile journey is much more 'up hill' and I achieved 35mpg for that leg, again with carefulish driving but not stupidly 'slow'. Average of 65mph. Take your point on trip computer accuracy.

I actually use the built in navigation and find that it is OK.

That's impressive. Better than I thought. How is the in-built satnav? I use waze on the rav4 as the built-in system is poor.

hi ya guys hope your okay got my 2004 lexus is200se which has failed its mot on emmisions co and hc, i spent so much money on it now and have reciepts to prove it, a lot of them including new front tyres and recent cambelt new suspension front end recent clutch kit and gearbox has been sent off to bexhill gearboxes and had the bearings done, now im thinking its the clutch release bearing making a noise on and off the clutch, which is wierd as its been replaced with genuine parts it would come with spare flywheel as it has a new one and new* clutch kit, rear arches strut brace i put the 5 spoke wheels on it as i think they look bit better. got recent ngk iridium plugs piper cross air filter new battery ohh front and rear windscreens been replaced rear sills have been welded up got the tte body kit all in BLACK fo the mot which runs out 22nd may 24 it would need cat/exhaust so wondering what people would offer me for it that seems to be all it needs you can check the mot history online was thinking and really wanting a toyota corolla with the vvt-li engine and i seen one at the right money in blue as i had gen 7 celica with fast engine and regret selling it for peanuts (1100) im based in uckfield in east sussex FA54SMV

I have the same issues as you, I have a new RX450h+, the 12v battery is only 345amps, I have also been locked out on 3 occasions and now carry a battery pack. I have had several discussions with my local dealership about the problem, but Lexus aren't bothered, they keep their showroom cars on trickle charge and have suggested I do the same if leaving the car for any length of time. They also suggest when washing the car that I start it and leave it running on EV whilst doing so. I have a Nextbase camera, but do not use parking mode for that reason. I have just relocated my battery pack from boot to glovebox - thank you.

I'm curently getting 2.5m/Kwh and because I mainly do relatively short journeys, I only tend to use it in EV. My trip summary since last reset is 176.2 miles of which 172.3 is on EV (98%) which gives an impressive 649.3mpg!!

Another thing, 7 out of 10 cars I see, their MOTs mentioned at least once, corroded brake lines at one point. Is that something I should be looking for? Is that a common problem?
