Strange Pinging Noise On Gs300 Mk2

last night I had a spirted drive down a nice country road I know and kept hearing a ping ping noise like a warning sound.no lights came on the dash and the car still went well thinking about it today would this be the vsc? working

Hi i have nearly the same noise,just when applying brakes but not all times that does,that noise making boost pressure pump in breaking system

common problem for lexus gs300 from 1998 till 2001

The common problem is a brake booster failure which results in warning lights and a continuous buzzer inside the cabin - an intermittent ping noise is something else.

iam sure it must have been the vsc as it happened again last night when I was pressing on with a mate who has a vr6[same road].

perhaps most people have never heard it as they don't push there car hard.

iam sure its not the brake booster as no warning lights came on the dash.

I thought the VSC slip light flashes/illuminates when the system activates? Is your slip light working?

Well that certainly isn't normal. Sounds like one of the solenoids or the pump making the noise.

That already 2 years making that noise,car still drives fine

probably needs taken off and fixed
