Eratic Central Locking

Was waiting for a friend in Tescos car park.. anyway after 10 mins i got bored so i thought i would play around with my mobile.. I was trying to plug the in car charger and suddenly my central locking locked the car... I thought this wasa bit strange.. so i unlocked the car.... it then locked iteself again!... I smacked the dash and said "behave christine"

Anway.. every now and then the car would try and lock itself...

on the drive home it was fine but when pulled up I asked my passenger to leave their door open whilst i open the boot to get the shopping out... the central locking then went bananas!...

both times were when the car was running.. but also noticed the car tried locking itself when the ingition was on auxilary mode.

Anyway know what the problem could be?

Mine did that after it was cooked and the ECU went wierd. Dis the Battery for 10 mins and see what happens

about 4 years ago i had a citroen XM, and every time our local bobby came for a coffee and he used his radio, the central locking unlocked but without first switching off the alarm, so it set off alarm and hazards. he said it was an easy way of getting into the bigger citroens, just stand next to them and use the radio! perhaps your cellfone is having an effect on your lexus?

i did think this... but its not the first time i have used the mobile in the car... however it was the first time i put the phone on the dash

I will disconnect the Battery tommorow for 10 mins and recet the ECU

if you leave the engine running on a soarer after so many seconds the doors will automaticaly lock this is an anti mugging safety feature of the vehical it is fitted as standard to all v8 models ,i do not know about 2.5 tt though , does it do it by the time you get up to about 20mph ,if it does then nothing is wrong ,just remember do not leave your keys in the car with the engine running and the door shut ,unless you have a spare key or remote actuater

yes the car locks when doing 25.. i knew this anyway...

when i was opening the door the central locking was depsrate to lock itself again. it is not right.. i have had the car long enough to know it is not functioning right.

I reset the ECU... still did it.

However.. when to a meet to today and at the start of the journey it played a a little bit.. but then got better

on the way home it behaved itself.. so seems fine

very weird but seems to have sorted itself out
