2007 Ls460 Roof Moulding Removal

Has any member removed the full length roof rail mouldings on their 460? I know they are clipped in front to rear but would like to know how they lift out, easy? difficult? do the clips break etc. I have a bad bullet hole in my front screen and it's right next to the A pillar section of the moulding. I want it repaired but can't accurately measure if the damage is 30mm from the edge of the windscreen as the moulding needs to come out. I'm loathed to have a new screen fitted due to the extensive de trim needed and if the Insurance Company's nominated glass specialist has any real experience of fitting 460 front windscreens.
