Air Con Filter Fitting

Just got a new aircon filter sent by Chris (cheers mate)

How do you fit it? I know its somewhere near the glove box, but it was dark and I couldn't see.

The aircon filter is behind the glove compartment.

Open the glove compartment.

take out a plastic strip.

then take out a plastic lid.

And you can take out the old aircon filter.

If you use a flash light you can do it in 2 min.

I would say 3 mins. I had allocated a window of up to 4 minutes so I was well within this.

The filter contains active carbon to reduce odours. In the US DIY stores sell these and you can cut them down to size. However I haven't seen them in the UK.

It think you would need to replace it every 6 months to maintain the effectiveness of the filter. If you don't mind not having the odour removal then just remove the filter, give it a wash, let it dry and replace - that's what I do.

You can buy sheets of active charcoal filter for cooker hoods.

That is worth a go. Maybe a bit thin for the frame? The standard one has a saw tooth type of design to increase surface area which makes it thicker.
