Over the last few eeks Ive noticed my steering seems to becoming a little "erratic" Its as if the car is becoming increasing sensitive to tramlining. The steering can pull to either side without warning, and can feel very light and vague around centre. Sometimes its fine. The front tryes look ok.Its in a local garage this weeking to have an inspection done, and will probably have a 4 wheel algnment done but wondering if anyone has had same experience?

Its a 2009 IS250 on 17" wheels

cheers

Not Lexus specific, but the usual suspects would be track rods ends, anti-roll bar bushes and droplinks. Do not have a 4 wheel alignment done until you check these areas........as you will need to have one done again if any of these are later found faulty and replaced.

yep exactly what the garage said. My car only has 46k miles so seems early for worn parts, especially for a Lexus...

Then maybe just needs alignment, apparently it is recommended to do it every 6 months. I had similar issues when my front tires were unevenly worn out. Replaced tires and done front alignment (rear was ok) an issue gone.

Had car checked today, no sign of damage or wear so had alignment done and both front wheels incorrect toe settings. Car now back to normal, the light vague feeling gone and no tramlining. Happy days!
