Fuel Gauge behaviour

Hi all i,m new to the Lexus world.I ,ve had my CT SE L Premier for just over a week now.One thing i find strange is that the fuel gauge drops very quickly.Last week i brimmed it (didn,t reset trip though). When it got down to just a little over quarter full i brimmed it again. It only took 24 litres!

I know it has a 45 litre tank so some how this gauge is really inaccurate. Also as said it drops very quickly. Is this normal?

My driiving style isn,t hard and fast.I,m mostly in Normal mode and do alot of P & G where possible.Normally gives me an instant reading of 53mpg on my 9 mile trip to work and back.

Appreciate any help and Hello from a newbie.

About 5-10l is kept in reserve just in case so you only have about 35-40L that it actually measures in the tank. Its got this built in error to reduce the chance of running out of fuel completely. Therefore it'll drop quicker than a 100l tank at the same MPG.

Just use the cruising range instead
