Just out of interest, why didn't you (Bison) consider a MkIV Supra?

I thought that would have given the best of both worlds at the expense of rear seats and 4WD.

My brother had a 310bhp sapphire in '91 and he still says it was the best car he ever had (was torched by TWOCers).

Not trying to be picky, but just FYI, the new Ford supercar is called the Ford GT........NOT the GT40. Ford sold the rights to the GT40 name along time ago to a replica builder, and then a few years ago when they wanted it back the replica builder wanted so much for the rights to the name that ford told them to go away politely.

It is a good car....yes, and it has some cute little twists too (like the petrol tank that's wrapped around the gearbox). It is a very good car, but not as inspirational or as era-clouting as the GT40 was.

Remember, I say this from the point of view of an (ex-)Ford owner.

I'm not too sure why this conversation is still going........Ford versus Toyota. It's a bit of mis-match. Compare Lambourghini with Ferrari, not with Honda because they once released the NSX, for example.

why are you driving a toyota based car?

Toyota are a much better car manufacturer than ford.. full stop. Toyota is one of the worlds richest car companies and they did not do that by ignoring its customers.

What claims apart from motorsport do you thin ford have over Toyota.. actually in fact most jap car companies?

Ford mass produce to sell motors at a competive value in the current market.. Toyota have a slight higher value but depreciation is far much less... Just look on autotrader what you can buy for 5k

I would like to see pete tell us why he thinks Ford have the leading edge??

I tell you what.. the old fords where a much better car than todays... the Escort Mark I & II were the best.. tough cars! apart from rust.

but I am basing cars in todays world.. I dont claim Toyota are the best company ever.

Going on strength I think the Top Gear review on that Hilux truck goes to show! and even osama bin ladens men use em as military vehicles! He got it right years ago! :D
