Warranty Query

Recommended Posts

I took out the extended warranty for my IS250. The car has increasingly developed a problem under braking where it pulses as it stops. Feels like the brakes are being applied then released. I am pretty sure this is down to a warped disc.

Question is, would this be covered under the warranty.

Do you mean a 2nd gen IS250?

Either way, if it is a warped disc, then it won't be covered by the warranty unless something else is wrong related to it, eg a caliper is stuck.

If that is the case, then you could argue that the stuck caliper caused the brake warping.

If not though, then at least it isn't an expensive fix.

As mentioned a warped disc on its own would count as a wear and tear problem and not be covered.  If there's an issue with the ABS or something else mechanical then it would be but ultimately depends on the root cause
