Valve Assy camshaft timing oil control

Hi and thanks for letting me post. I have a beams 3sge and its revving on its own and tries to  pull off when I break. My mechanic cleaned the control Assy and it was ok for ten minutes then happened again. It gives the code on the computer as valve 2. Nobody have this problem before. Thanks for your help

I can't understand how a VVTI fault would cause the engine speed to increase by itself as this only affects valve timing.

Is the idle speed correct? 

Have you checked for a sticking throttle cable/linkage, loose or damaged vacuum pipe?

Another cause in the past has been the floor mat having moved and jamming the pedal.

I thought that, I had the brakes done and took it from garage and this started. Also the brakes ain't very responsive either, I'll add also a few years back it happened then it went ok for two years. It's not a floor mat but could be a cable. I'll have to get him have another look. Thank you for the reply
