Yeah, the overtaking issue worries me.

Limiting a car to the speed limit, while possibly a good idea, imagine stuck behind a slow moving vehicle on a country lane, you couldnt slowly overtake, cos the moment you hit 60mph, the car will stop accelerating, which is more dangerous than breify exceeding the speed limit..

Imagine the tailbacks behins tractors and caravans!!!!

Mat you have missed an important fact in your thought process.

Who says the police are bothered about catching the real criminals. After all they still get paid as long as their total convictions are up, the fact that more and more of these are you average law abiding citizen going 10 miles an hour over a speed limit is irrelevant - they are still criminals :duh:

And it looks great when at the end of the year they can say that criminals caught and bought to book was up by 20% on last year.

When in actual fact all that meant is the burglars and rapists got left alone cos its easier to catch a motorist

I agree.

motorists are simply an easy target - the vast majority of us are conscientus, law abiding people, who are just too :tsktsk: easy to try and take money off.
